What are you lusting over but will (probably) never get?

You just WANT it but you won’t or can’t buy it because it’s too impractical, too expensive, not a necessity, not sensible, unreasonable, etc. Every so often you’ll look at it online, sigh longingly, give the screen a loving stroke and sadly close the page.

I’m not a fan of the LV logos on bags but this I love!

A Lady Dior bag. I can't justify the cost now.

Shoemadlady · 08/04/2024 19:50

I have always dreamed of owning a pair of Jimmy Choo nexus boots. They don't make them anymore but if they did I'd probably save up and get them 😂

That ring is gorgeous. I want some Esska block heeled sandals and a camper van.

I wear Esska heels, they're worth every penny penny and are soooooo comfy!!

Ouch. I thought that's pretty and then saw the cost of it. I wonder what it would cost to have it made if you could lay your hands on high end fabric

There's a beige one on Ebay for £890. I wonder if she'd accept an offer for £40?

Dooooo it!!!!
You too @Eleesah

They are the most amazing cats ever (I say this as a lifelong cat owner of various breeds).

I truly feel like they are almost a different species than other breeds.

So, so interactive.
My boy comes running to the front door to greet us, he does all sorts of tricks like a dog.

He is incredibly observant and affectionate and lays in the bathroom sink whilst I have a bath lol.

Very people orientated and prefers our company to other cats.

He will just flop down wherever we are :)

But just make sure that you can afford grain free, sugar free, wet food and remember everything is going to be bigger.

Bigger carriers (I got one made for dogs) litter trays (you need one at least 55cm) appetites etc.

My Maine Coon is double the size of my other cats and also eats double.

Make sure you get good insurance too, I recommend Pet Plan.

My boy is indoors only but we have a cat proofed balcony too.

Another vote for do it! I have 3 (plus a Ragdoll and a demented Golden Retriever pup) and they are the most wonderful breed. I catproofed the garden too.

They're big funny goofy tubs of cuddles. I'm just waiting for one of them to arrive for his evening habit of snuggling in to my shoulder

CrushingOnRubies · 08/04/2024 22:59

Afraid I don't have £499 to spare but this is the sort of bag I've been hankering after for ages. Just a nice small overnight weekend at a push hold-all. Ideally leather

Not clothing but I really want an Indian ring neck parrot and Or a macaw! 🥰🦜

LadyEloise1 · 09/04/2024 00:39

A DeMELLIER bag - the New York Midi in Taupe. But I think they discontinued that colour. Sad

Just had a look. Its in Fenwick In taupe

IDontHateRainbows · 09/04/2024 08:14

Gold cowboy boots.

Seen a beautiful pair in John. Lewis for £295.

Alas I would only wear them to festivals where they'd get covered in mud.

Runningoutofusernamestochange · 09/04/2024 08:19

An aga! So expensive to run, so impractical, but so cosy and beautiful!

Years ago, we saved up and bought an Aga. FIL called it a "pretentious bit of kitchen art". Arse. Never forgave him for that <not joking>.

LadyEloise1 · 09/04/2024 09:06

Thank you @Springchickenonion but I think that is the larger size and unless I win some money it won't ever be mine as it's so far down the list of priorities 😀

I commissioned a jeweller to make me something similar, but three separate rings that I could leave to my daughters. It cost a third of the Boodles ring.

A sheepskin rug

A green velvet cape

A little sea front flat in Sete, Southern France

KirstenBlest · 09/04/2024 13:18

@Ginmonkeyagain , you can get sheepskin rugs cheaply in TK Maxx. I got one a few years ago for £18. It's gorgeous.
It was in the clearance section in my local store.

An entire wardrobe of patagonia jackets, coats and fleeces. I live in town but walk most places.

Karmacat · 09/04/2024 14:31

@Coastalcreeksider we have two amazing Burmese cats, I got them after my next door neighbours had them when I was a child and fell in love. They are incredible creatures, very vocal and very needy and affectionate.

Hipnotised · 09/04/2024 15:25

A platinum eternity ring.

Been married for many years but we have so many other things to spend the money on including kids at uni so it's not likely, sadly...

This beautiful sapphire & diamond bracelet from a vintage jewellery shop in York.
