Clue is in the title really

No 7 hydraluminous lip balm for me. Because it's glossy and has enough tint to it.

Love to hear which lip balms you can't do without

sounds like you look for something different in lip balms than I do - gloss or tint aren't factors for me, and as I like to wear at night the tint is possibly a drawback. My lips are so dry I just want them less chapped. I have recently finished the Nuxe honey one which was a wonderful treat. But my day to day one is Neutrogena Norwegian formula, it was even better many years ago when it was in a little pot rather than stick.

PieAndLattes · 07/01/2024 14:22

I use pure shea butter.

xyz111 · 07/01/2024 14:23

Carmex. I even put it on my nose when I have a cold so it doesn't get chapped!

everythingthelighttouches · 07/01/2024 14:26

Sugar from fresh.com

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 07/01/2024 14:29

I have the driest lips and none have worked, feel like I've tried them all so following with interest. Not fussed for gloss or sheen, just want non-chapped lips. Haven't tried the Luxe one though so that may be my next purchase.

OwlWeiwei · 07/01/2024 14:31

Japanese honey Nivea lip balm, sold only in Japan or sometimes on Amazon. Not the same as UK Nivea honey lip balm. It is the only one that soothes dry lips instantly and keeps them soothed all day with no burning sensation.

NipLash · 07/01/2024 14:33

Softlips French vanilla.
It's soft enough that it doesn't hurt my lips when applying it, but stays on for ages. I love it, but it's not available anymore. I bought a bulk pack on ebay a few years ago from america, but when that runs out I don't think I'll be able to find any more.
I've tried most other brands, but they're either too greasy, or they are too firm so if my lips are chapped they pull open the cracks making them bleed.
Stuff I love always gets discontinued :-(

declutteringmymind · 07/01/2024 14:33

Eight hour cream

stcrispinsday · 07/01/2024 14:33

Crème de la mer is the best I've ever used. I also like the Laneige sleep mask lip balms.

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 07/01/2024 14:34

Thanks shall give that a bash!

HangoverFromHell · 07/01/2024 14:34

I love Dr Paw Paw overnight mask. If I ever forget to use it before bed I always notice that my lips are dry when I wake up.

runbackhome · 07/01/2024 14:34

Blistex intensive moisturiser is the only one that helps mine, I've tried a load and always come back to it. No tint or shine to it but it's lovely.

Paw2024 · 07/01/2024 14:35

Too faced hangover balm for in the day
Hurraw moon balm for night

LilacpointMummy · 07/01/2024 14:35

Nuxe honey is my favourite - I always have a pot on my bedside table. It's the only one that cures winter chapped lips for me.

Carmex. I even put it on my nose when I have a cold so it doesn't get chapped!

I have a tube of Carmex that I only use at night because it gets in my mouth and tastes bad. Is the cherry one thinner than the regular one? What am I doing wrong?

I can’t stand the flavour but I am using it because I cannot buy another fucking skin care item without seeking some kind of penance. Blush

Me too- I like the slight burny feeling when you put it on. Does the job though.

I use the one that comes in a little pot. Not sure if that’s a different formula or just a packaging preference.

My beauty pie ones are the only ones that sort out my dry chapped lips

LauderSyme · 07/01/2024 14:42

Blistex Intensive Moisturiser for me too, it was the most effective at soothing and repairing dry lips. I also had a Badger brand balm in a small round tin which was lovely, but am not sure which exact one.

Sallysoup · 07/01/2024 14:42

Eight hour cream for me too.

MotherOfCatBoy · 07/01/2024 14:43

By Terry, Baume de Rose, in little glass pot. Total luxury and very expensive.
Currently using a Nivea rose stick instead.

(also find exfoliating lips every day with toothbrush after teeth cleaning helps massively - I don’t get chapping or flaking in the winter any more)

musicmum75 · 07/01/2024 14:44

Burt's Bees. I don't leave the house without it.

This is the best lip balm in the world - i have tried all the ones listed so far and none work. This one isn’t “addictive” and just saves and soothes your lips.
