Clue is in the title really

No 7 hydraluminous lip balm for me. Because it's glossy and has enough tint to it.

Love to hear which lip balms you can't do without

Another vote for the Nuxe one. It’s like the Porsche of lip balms.

I also use Blistex medicated which makes my lips feel full and puffy in the morning, which could be considered good or bad I guess but at 50 I think it’s good!

BIODERMA Atoderm Dry Lips Moisturiser

The beeswax ones don't work on my lips - always end up sore.

Snoozymoozy · 07/01/2024 14:51

I've tried loads including some expensive ones but nothing beats Carmex for me!

ManchesterLu · 07/01/2024 14:52

Carmex strawberry for everyday, and a Lush sugar scrub when they're getting a bit dry (in winter).

Witchinawell · 07/01/2024 14:52

Oralieve.

yarnwitch · 07/01/2024 14:52

Blistex intensive moisture in the tube is good, and the medicated one in the metal tube if they're really bad.
For every day use Lypsyl original is good.

Meadowgrasses · 07/01/2024 14:54

Lanisoh in the day and blistex in the little squeeze tube at night.

Dontfuckingsaycheese · 07/01/2024 15:00

This. There’s none better 💋

Nuxe Reve de Miel. I apply once in the morning and once at night and it sorts me. I also put it on my nose when I have a cold like a PP said.

Eight hour cream

This!!!

Isometimeswonder · 07/01/2024 15:07

Ultrasun lip protection.
I use it as a lipbalm but it's good as it's factor 30 too

MrsTwatInAHat · 07/01/2024 15:08

If my lips are actually sore, Blistex relief cream is the only thing that will fix them. Failing that, Carmex is pretty good.

For lovely soft lips, with amazing scents/flavours and tints, l’occitane.

HareSong · 07/01/2024 15:16

Nuxe 'Reve de Miel' (in the 15gm glass pots, not the sticks) has been my lip saver for 20+ years. A pot lasts ages, so it works out very good value. Though I'm not so keen on the reformulated version with the black lid. It's thinner somehow, not such goood staying power - so I am hoarding my stockpile of white-lid pots!

Oppositioblue · 07/01/2024 15:20

Carmex. They are everywhere. House, bag, car, office.

mynewusername2023 · 07/01/2024 15:20

For night I use the Fresh rosé balm that's in a pot and it's amazing. I think I'm on my 6th pot and always have back ups.

For daytime I use so many different ones. The malin & goetz ones are very good.

extrasushiplease · 07/01/2024 15:28

I always have to have Smith's Rosebud Salve on me now. Nothing gets my lips softer, and it's also great for chapped skin on the face (if you get super dry and irritated under your nose after getting sick, this stuff is a lifesaver!)

GellerYeller · 07/01/2024 15:30

Used to swear by 8 hour cream but it’s quite expensive and very Vaseline-like which don’t moisturise enough.
Carmex sticks for me, never pots or tubes. Just the right side of greasy and I have them in every bag. Blistex intense or the one in the metal tube if they’re really chapped.
Some lipsticks make my lips peel, usually Mac. Not sure what’s in them causing that?

Carmel in a pot.

GellerYeller · 07/01/2024 15:34

Also I really miss Bonne Bell Lip Smackers just for the flavours! Pina Colada, Bubble Gum and all the strawberry variations!

EllaPaella · 07/01/2024 15:34

Cheap and cheerful for me - during the day I like Nivea cherry tinted lipbalm and at night I have a pot of a balm that I got in a local homeware shop. I used to love maybelline baby me but I don't think they sell it anymore.

eurochick · 07/01/2024 15:35

The tinted eight hour Elizabeth Arden ones.

YouAndMeAndThem · 07/01/2024 15:37

For dry chapped lips lanolin nipple balm is the best thing!

Back21970 · 07/01/2024 15:40

La Mer is the best but at £60 a pot I had to give it up unfortunately.

Switched to Ultrasun and like that however read on here about a month ago about using oil under the balm to seal in the moisture and it really works!

Doesn’t need to be a lip oil either as they are quite pricy, I’ve been using jojoba under my balm at night and it’s made a huge difference already - definitely worth a go.
