Clue is in the title really

No 7 hydraluminous lip balm for me. Because it's glossy and has enough tint to it.

Love to hear which lip balms you can't do without

For night time, Le Petit Marseillais lip balm in the yellow packaging is brilliant. For daytime use I have 8 hr cream lip protectant in Plum, which is perfect for me and so obviously will be discontinued in the near future.

The bobbi brown one in a tin is immense.
When I put it on at night my lips look amazing in the morning

Rituals lip balm all flavours

I've tried them all and this is the only one that has long-term improved the condition of my lips and is completely natural. Most of the lip balms listed in this post has synthetic ingredients that you're ingesting and will be destroying the natural barrier on your lips, making you need to continuously use although temporarily making them feel better.

I'm cheap! I'm in my 50's and spent a fortune on very expensive bright lipsticks for over 30 years - then came Covid and mask wearing at work and home. I switched to Nivea Cherry lip balm and love it! Wakes up my face, keeps lips in good condition, and I seem to suit the less done up look, as I age. All for less than 3 quid.

Another vote for Eight Hour Cream, do they do a tinted version?

Bloom15 · 07/01/2024 20:30

Cath Kidson - the last set they had out was better though - the watermelon one was lovely! Discovered them accidentally but buy them all the time now

Pookie2022 · 07/01/2024 20:44

Nuxe Reve de Miel is the best lip balm I’ve ever used. I have never found anything that comes close.

leopardprintpants · 07/01/2024 20:49

W7 sleep mask - is like the ones the body shop used to do when they sold animal shaped soap!

FluffyFanny · 07/01/2024 20:49

Smith's lip salves are the best!

The carmex tube is nothing like the pot. I agree the pot is great, the tube is like Vaseline and does nothing for me @Deadhead2024 @LaPalmaLlama

Startyabastard · 07/01/2024 21:03

Lanolips or that purple tube of Lansinoh lanolin nipple cream.
No silicones or petrochemicals for me.

mamaduckbone · 07/01/2024 21:05

Carmex in the little pot.
Burts Bees peppermint is a close second.

reelcat · 07/01/2024 21:28

Nuxe reve de miel in the glass pot. My lips are so sensitive and this is the only balm that I can use. It lasts for ages too!

EggbertHeartsTina · 07/01/2024 21:33

I have a very dry patch on my bottom lip where I put my tooth through it as a child, it's always flaky and dry. I've just started using Dr Lipp 100% lanolin and it's really made a difference.

professionalnomad · 07/01/2024 21:41

Laneige lip.sleeping mask

Over40Overdating · 07/01/2024 21:50

Another vote for Nuxe in the glass pot. Life changing!

When the weather is very drying I layer rosewater, hyaluronic serum, nuxe and then seal it all in with Vaseline as a night mask.

Toptotoe · 07/01/2024 22:01

By Terry - Baume de Rose - love that stuff

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 07/01/2024 22:04

I like Nuxe, Burts Bees sticks and also have Carmex and Blistex in pots. Different ones go with different wears. Prefer to wear eg BB under lipstick but buffed off slightly before applying.

TheWanderingWoman · 07/01/2024 22:33

O'Keefes overnight lip repair (the one in the pot) it's brilliant if you suffer from really dry lips. I also really like Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream and I often use that in the day because it's quite glossy while still being very moisturising.

JaneIves · 07/01/2024 22:46

Another vote for Nuxe Rive de Miel.
I bought it after a recommendation on here, I’m a serial lip licker and chewer and also have many allergies to cosmetics. This stuff has been a total game changer, I’ve not had chapped lips at all since using and as an ex smoker, its really helped with the fine lines around my mouth. I’ve currently got about 5 pots on the go - one in my bedroom, the kitchen, my handbag, work bag and a spare. Ironically, on holiday on France last year, i dropped and smashed a pot. I could not find that particular one at all, despite french pharmacies having a sizeable Nuxe display.

SootysCaravan · 07/01/2024 22:57

Penhaligons Number One lip formula is a firm favourite of mine

Copperoliverbear · 07/01/2024 23:12

Kiehls

Copperoliverbear · 07/01/2024 23:12

Or eight hour cream
