Clue is in the title really

No 7 hydraluminous lip balm for me. Because it's glossy and has enough tint to it.

Love to hear which lip balms you can't do without

Japanese honey Nivea lip balm, sold only in Japan or sometimes on Amazon. Not the same as UK Nivea honey lip balm. It is the only one that soothes dry lips instantly and keeps them soothed all day with no burning sensation.

I really want to to try this but it’s not cheap with the shipping.

Changingnameagain · 07/01/2024 15:56

Burts bees. Peppermint or vanilla. So good and keeps my lips moisturised for hours and hours.

a222 · 07/01/2024 15:58

i’m using the nuxe honey one. it’s expensive but i like it and it wears well under lipstick too, if you apply lipstick and mix it with your lips is what i do

For dry chapped lips lanolin nipple balm is the best thing!

Yep, the tiny little tube of Lansinoh nipple balm is the one I was coming on to say. I saw it recommended by a beauty editor and it really works. You only need a tiny bit and it actually moisturises your lips, unlike the petroleum based ones that dry them out. It’s odourless, tasteless and leaves a nice subtle shine.

For night I have a dupe of the Laneige one. I think it’s a Revolution one. That works well and my lips are much better this Winter with that on overnight.

I also used to love one by Fig and Rouge (I think that was what they’re called) which I got in Boots but no longer seems to be sold. It had no petroleum crap in, only natural things, and was in a lovely decorated little tin. It was a pleasure to use.

O’Keeffes lip repair balm. Ruddy marvellous stuff, I’ve tried loads of lip moisturisers and balm products, this is the only one I’ve found that really does have a longer lasting moisture effect and stops my lips getting chapped.

I use pure shea butter.

A hundred times cheaper, more natural and more effective than any mentioned above.

Catslovenip · 07/01/2024 16:39

Just has no marketing so is not as popular.

WithASpider · 07/01/2024 16:42

Uriage lip balm. Bought it after I developed an allergy to absolutely everything. Repaired my lips and I don't react to it! It's great, tiny bit lasts all day and it's not greasy.

Blistex moisture at night though.

Eight hour cream

brilliant for todgers too 👌

WithIcePlease · 07/01/2024 16:57

I rarely use a true lipstick now as I love the tinted lip balms but use carmex or Shea butter at night and Nivea or lipsyl in handbag and car.
Of the tinted ones, my favourite colour is Mac tendertalk in play with me. I have EA 8 hour one in blush which is lovely. I have a CT one which I'm not impressed by the container- looks cheap and doesn't retract - but lovely colour. I like Nars orgasm one for shine and Dior for shine but not much colour to them. The Mac one in the brightly coloured tube I was hopeful of (it went mad due to TT when released) but it doesn't retract and I think the texture is awful.

Does the Hydraluminous colour stay on ?
@njg616
What colour do you have?

I love the Glossier one for texture and formulation but not the colours and I hate slidy balms that don't stay on .

MarleyandMarleyWoooo · 07/01/2024 17:01

Burts bees always

Fraaahnces · 07/01/2024 17:03

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. Am wearing it now. I have a peach tea one next to my bed (limited edition), a pink lemonade one in my bag, a berry one in the kitchen, a lime/apple one in the car. I might have a problem! I love that it very, very gently exfoliates the dry skin overnight and your lips are plumptious and soft the next morning. Also lasts about 6-8hrs on me.

Charlieradioalphapapa · 07/01/2024 17:05

I’ve tried most and the best for me is the Nuxe honey in the pot. For some reason the stick version doesn’t do much. In fact the stick version of most things I’ve tried over the years don’t do much . I’m allergic to the Eight Hour Cream, Blistex and Calmex and lansinoh, paw paw didn’t help. The thing that’s made the most difference is realising toothpaste was causing the most problem and made my lips peel. I now use mild ones without SLS - generally Zendium or Biotene and that’s helped a lot.

FlutteryButterfly · 07/01/2024 17:06

Revolution Glaze Lip oil, got it from the Asos advent calender. Lovely Cherry Seed flavour too

FlutteryButterfly · 07/01/2024 17:07

Sorry that's a gloss!

Itsholly · 07/01/2024 17:08

Laneige lip sleep mask in berry but used as a day gloss / balm

Blingismything · 07/01/2024 17:08

Superdrug medicated, cheap and cheerful.

Gingercat5090 · 07/01/2024 17:09

Burts bees love it!

martinirossi · 07/01/2024 17:21

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask at night (nicest flavour I've tried is the apple lime one) as it's intensely hydrating and also gently peels off any excess texture on my lips so i can exfoliate them easily in the morning.

Lanolips 101 Ointment during the day under lipstick. It applies beautifully, sinking into the lip but also clinging to it so it stays hydrating throughout its time of wear. It also makes my lips look a tiny bit plumped and really juicy so I don't mind wearing it on its own on no makeup days.

xyz111 · 07/01/2024 17:22

@Deadhead2024 I have loads of them, in every bag I have so I'm never without!! A small bit goes a long way. I can never taste it. The pot version is good as you can just run your finger lightly over it and put it on.

SiobhanSharpe · 07/01/2024 17:30

afaloren · 07/01/2024 15:00

Nuxe Reve de Miel. I apply once in the morning and once at night and it sorts me. I also put it on my nose when I have a cold like a PP said.

I can recommend this too, either the stick or the pot.
I also quite like Boots own brand one, in a blue tube, if you're after a cheaper one. I use that when my lips aren't too bad.
But the Nuxe one is the business for when they're worse.

Billyhargrovesmullet · 07/01/2024 17:30

Lush lip masks, currently using snow fairy, it really softens your lips

Oldraver · 07/01/2024 17:31

Badger Balm, either the unscented or vanilla

MsRosley · 07/01/2024 17:33

Original Vaseline. Never beaten.
