Clue is in the title really

No 7 hydraluminous lip balm for me. Because it's glossy and has enough tint to it.

Love to hear which lip balms you can't do without

Lidl's hydro lip balm (the light blue one).
I have suffered from severely dry and chapped lips since i was 12 and tried every brand out there including nivea, burt bees, palmers and other more expensive names that i cant remember fron the top of my head up until now and only found this one to be the best (i am now in my mid 30's)
Its cheap but it works 100% for me.. if i had tried this yeara earlier it would have saved me soooo much money! Can finally wear matte lip colours without worrying

AzureBlue99 · 07/01/2024 17:42

Just before bed, the Nuxe one in the pot. It is the best.

To mix with lipsticks - Carmex in the pot

Out and about - Carmex in the stick with spf.

Burt's Bees. I don't leave the house without it.

Gets my vote every time! It properly moisturises.

I was addicted to kiels lip balm for 20 years , if I didn't have it , I'd have panic attacks.

I had v dry lips , which looked particularly awful as they're quite full, owing to my dear dad passing them down to us.

Anyway , now I use biossance, I think its 12 pounds a pop, and only use it perhaps once a week and my lips stay very hydrated

muddyford · 07/01/2024 17:53

It was Blisteze, in a tiny metal tube. No longer available and the replacement isn't as good.

Are you sure? This is my favourite too, and it was discontinued but now it's back as Blistex relief cream. Try it - hope it is the one you liked!

By Terry is the best I've ever tried but my day to day one is Bert's Bees.

I save By Terry for when my lips get severely dehydrated which isn't often but it clears it over night

brighteststar · 07/01/2024 18:15

Lanolips! Or plain old lanolin nipple cream 😆
nothing beats it, IMO

Alwaystired2023 · 07/01/2024 18:17

Love this thread! Have naturally full lips (and that all I have going for me 🤣) that get so sore - EOS is my go to but they don't sell it here anymore ?!

WhereAreWeNow · 07/01/2024 18:18

Versed Lip Silk. Lovely stuff.

Noicant · 07/01/2024 18:18

Nuxe, it’s the best so far.

marshmallowfinder · 07/01/2024 18:18

Forever Living aloe lips.

Walkingwashingmachine · 07/01/2024 18:22

Lipbalms are my favourite thing. I've boiled it down to Carmex original (in a pot, not tube. It matters) and Nivea Hyaluron lipbalm (silver new one) which I think is a tiny bit glossy actually and almost disguises my lip lines. You can get in rose too.

I am addicted to lip balm too and have been for years. I always use menthol ones and I feel like if I don't have anything now, my lips don't seem to create their own moisture anymore as I'm so used to using a lip balm a zillion times a day. I'll maybe give your one a bash

BonjourCrisette · 07/01/2024 18:33

Best budget option by far is Chapstick IMO.

Other than that, Barry M Lip Rehab is also not that expensive and really good for overnight repair. Carmex is fine but I wish it was a bit less medicated.

All the Nuxe lip balms I have tried have been excellent, both sticks and pots. And the original 8 Hour Cream really works.

Walkingwashingmachine · 07/01/2024 18:35

Imagine how much lipbalm we have all eaten by mistake over the years. I must be 10% wax by now, I use it so much.

DumpedByText · 07/01/2024 18:39

Can I have two! Burts Bees Vanilla and Tropic are my favourites.

Molly499 · 07/01/2024 18:47

I’ve always been a fan of the eight hour sticks until someone introduced me to Monika Heillgmann lip perfection overnight mask which has been life saving for my very dry lips. It’s super expensive but have been using it for almost 5 months and still plenty in the tube. https://www.monikaheiligmann.com/products/lip-perfecting-overnight-mask

Original Burts Bees - the peppermint one

dullandgrey · 07/01/2024 18:52

I'm a lip balm fiend and I've never truly found the one but the next one I want to try is the Nuxe one that always gets mentioned! Currently using the Laneige one and it's ok but nothing special. I'm determined to finish it though before I buy a replacement but it's taking forever with daily use! Recommend trying a smaller sample size to try first.

mathanxiety · 07/01/2024 18:59

Carmex.
It stays put, doesn't melt.

Lyn29 · 07/01/2024 19:05

Eight hour cream by far....... just ran out and my lips are suffering already

brighterdaze · 07/01/2024 19:13

I love Hurraw! They've so many lovely flavours and are natural. Used to buy it in American Apparel shops but can only get it online now. I won't use anything else now. Used to use 8 hour cream or Vaseline but switched to avoid petroleum products.

Moonshine5 · 07/01/2024 19:21

Tatcha - the kissu lip mask
Japanese peach lip jelly

saturnspinkhoop · 07/01/2024 19:22

I’m going to be really boring here and tell a cautionary tale. I used lipbalms for years after Roaccutane left my lips very dry. I bulk purchased Carmex and brought it everywhere with me. Eventually my lips and the area around them became flaky, red and incredibly dry. It was very uncomfortable and looked dreadful. A dermatologist said that it was caused by overuse of the lip balms and that I had become sensitive to the ingredients.

Of course it may not happen to you and most likely most of you won’t be using them as much as I did.

Sorry to be a party pooper.
