Thanks @Fraaahnces I maybhave to hold off a while with discussing with my GP... have more pressing matters to sort health wise.

I actually think what is happening to my face is a reaction to something I am using so I have started to limit what I do use to see if I can identify the guilty product. May well be a vitamin C serum thing.

@Fraaahnces I’ve never tried any of the Aqua Allegoria range, but I’ve coveted them for ages (partly because the bottles are so pretty).

I tried a sample of Burberry Goddess last year, which is also lavender and vanilla. I still prefer Mon Guerlain though, it’s a bit warmer and richer than the Burberry.

I love perfume - I’ve got loads already but there are so many more on my wish list!

I'm rejoining after losing my way after a beauty splurge. 2.5 advents including liberty, LIB, net a porter in the sale. Plus liberty September GWP, cult beauty GWP and a few beauty edits along the way!

And my first empty's of 24...
:REN AHA- lasted forever and ever!
:Sunday Riley Retinoid- no idea why I spent so much on this. Have just started back with Dermatica
:Hada Labo hyaluronic acid! Literally amazing. It's a thick serum with 7 types of hyaluronic acid and have another to replace
Total-3

Is it the hada labo lotion or emulsion you had? Other than size, the packaging looks identical to me.

CinnamonCoffee · 07/01/2024 17:04

@OchonAgusOchonOh it's the premium lotion and 170ml. I've found it's much better for dry skin than the one Superdrug sells.

Thank you @CinnamonCoffee . I have both in my basket on Yes Style 😁

CinnamonCoffee · 07/01/2024 23:09

@OchonAgusOchonOh it's really good stuff!

OchonAgusOchonOh · 07/01/2024 23:18

@CinnamonCoffee I was just reading the other day about multiple types of hyaluronic acid. I hadn't realised there was more than one. The Ordinary, which I rate, only has 3 so 7 different types is very exciting.

I have a few more in my stash (a the ordinary, an Inkey List and a Hada Labo with only 3 types of HA) so need to go through them first. My plan is only to purchase when I'm out of a category so it will be a couple of months.

CinnamonCoffee · 08/01/2024 12:50

I'm a fan of HA and have used all those and the premium is so much better. In my opinion at least. Hopefully you won't be disappointed when you get round to trying it

Excellent. I look forward to trying it.

A few empties from last week.

An old Pixi eyeshadow pen. About ten years old I think!

Beauty Pie Super Active capsules - really liked these. Very hydrating and my skin felt very soft after using. You use one in your face and a second on neck, chest and backs of hands. Definitely noticed a difference in my hands when I was using. Have way too much stuff to consider repurchasing and am not a member of BP now.

Sol de Janeiro lip balm - really didn’t like the smell of this.

Shani Darden toning essence - nice enough but wasn’t a wow.

Lancome Génifique mini serum. Not enough use to see any difference really.

Hi @Experiment627 … And anyone else battling rosacea, acne or perioral derm. I have been wanting to recommend these products for ages, but wanted to wait six months and use in all seasons to see how it went.

I have been using my DS as a lab test rabbit (sensitive, rosacea, teenage boy acne and perioral dermatitis.). I have been using this myself on broken capillaries around my nose (super sensitive) and on my décolleté.
These products contain ibuprofen and tranexamic acid. They are both cheap and SUPER-effective. Instead of nuking pimples, etc, it works as an anti-inflammatory and focuses on hydrating (lotion) and soothing. You can apply the cream as a spot treatment as many times in a day as you like and it won’t make you crusty or sore. The lotion is not a toner - it doesn’t clean the skin, and it can be used with cotton pads or just patted on with your palms or even misted. (last two better choices imo).

Oooh - some empties… Sundae Body Foam Wash. Sooooo drying. Also smelled vile. I used it for makeup brushes and handwashing instead. Never again. (Also the tin goes rusty in the bathroom.)
Olay Peach & Cherry Blossom Shower Gel. Nice, works well. Not really me. (Was cheap at the time.)
Two Rexona deodorants. They were men’s ones. Can’t remember the flavour. Also fine.
I had to chuck out my razor as the blades AND the handle had rusted. (Not very hairy - I don’t think I’ve looked at it for over a year 🫢🫢🫢)
A random mini hand cream that had been in my bag so long the name had worn off was thrown out.
I have chucked out the very little bit of Bioderma Atoderm Cleansing Shower Oil because DH dropped it and it split. I really like this. Won’t repurchase because the bottle really is too big for our shitty shower shelf. I have my eye on the Mustela one.

sallyanne33 · 11/01/2024 13:26

I’ve today listed some unopened Clinique I’ll never use on Vinted, I’m also going to give away a few bits as a beauty bundle on Olio, I just know I’ll never actually use the Curl Company mousse. My hair is not curly. Why did I even buy this?? I will never use all the eye creams I have before they go off. I hate the sickly sweet smell of Lush Snow Fairy so that needs to go as well. Hoping to finish a John Lewis mini hand cream today too, am down to the dregs.

Experiment627 · 11/01/2024 16:42

Thanks for the tips @Fraaahnces

I love this thread...

This is my little collection of skincare. I still have to use prescription acne gel to keep my skin behaving well, but the rest of the items I ABSOLUTELY love! My skin has never looked so good. Not getting rid of the wrinkles obviously but texture and general look is so much better.

Today’s empties, a travel size Argan Oil shampoo, Aveda hair mask which was lovely, would buy again, and Clinique Moisture Surge sachet. One thing has come in to the stash though, a big pot of Lush Tofu Shampoo which I ordered weeks ago and forgot about.

This week’s empties:

Larry King Social Life shampoo and Liquid Hairbrush conditioner - 100ml each. I really liked both of these products, I just found the packaging annoying to use and store in the shower.

Garnier Ultimate Blends oat milk shampoo - 400ml. Fine, nothing exciting, did the job.

BYBI C Caf day cream - 60ml. This was quite a thick, white cream and took quite a bit of rubbing in, though it did eventually absorb. It was a bit heavy for my face, particularly with spf on top, so I mostly used it on my neck and chest. Wouldn’t repurchase.

Biossance squalene and amino aloe cleanser - 50ml. This had a runny gel consistency. It had a bit of a scent of eucalyptus or something which I wasn’t that keen on, but it was a lovely cleanser. It felt gentle and didn’t strip my skin at all.

Bath & Body Works body lotion in Iced Sugar Plum - 236ml. Not as nice as the vanilla one I finished last week, but still pretty good.

M&S Apothecary Meditate hand cream - 30ml. I wasn’t particularly keen on the scent of this but the consistency was lovely, so I might try some of the other ones in this line.

I have way too much eyeshadow, so I’m contemplating trying to pan a palette this year. I’ve narrowed it down to either the Huda Beauty Cool Matte Obsessions or the Natasha Denona mini Glam. I’ve got three pans already in the Huda one so have a bit of a head start, but it’s got more shades than the Natasha Denona one. Maybe I should try and do both!

wheresmyshoe · 13/01/2024 13:35

Starting strong with empties this year but didn't photograph all of them.

Seated Queen - cold cream, love this product as a sleeping mask and have two tubes in the stash to get through.

Costa Brazil - body oil, the oil is beautiful and easily absorbed, gorgeous fragrance. The bottle is a faff though. I have another in the stash.

Cowshed - pillow spray, fine, no better than any other. Many different ones in the stash.

OTTO - hand cream, enjoyed this and would be happy if another turned up. I'm using small sizes of body lotion as hand cream currently to use them up.

I'm on a no buy policy unless it's to replace something essential like deodorant. I aim to use up 100 products this year (including sample sizes) I will conquer the stash!

4/100

@CinnamonCoffee & @OchonAgusOchonOh - That is the very best Hada Labo HA “serum” (effectively what it is…). I absotely rate this product as a bajillion times better than the expensive B. STURM. one. (Same initials as BS for a reason???) The navy blue one with tranexamic acid is what I use every day too. When it’s this cheap and comes in such big bottles I am not afraid to use on my body too.

CinnamonCoffee · 13/01/2024 16:49

It really is amazing @Fraaahnces
I've even got the disgusting snail slime which I also rate highly
