Hello Beauty Addicts...
Some Empties to report!

L'Occitane - Almond Shower Oil and Moisturising Lotion - Very subtle scent. Loved both product. Both felt very beautifully moisturising. These were a Christmas Pressie. And for my personal budget, bit too pricey. But girl can hope Santa brings next year!

Emma Hardie - Moringa Cleansing Balm - My ultimate fave cleanser ❤️ feels and feels luxurious and strips the make up off whilst not drying out skin. 10/10!!

CeraVe Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Serum - I don't know if I can type what I'm trying to say about this. But it actually feels like relief for my dry skin when I put it on. It "scluuuppsss" into my pores!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Genius Conditioning Brow Serum - Got this in a box, not sure it made a blind bit of difference, mind, I have bushy brows so maybe if someone didn't they might feel it a bit better!

I broke today… I have realised I’m no longer a lipstick girl and I am all about the gloss (with very strict goalposts re scent, texture, etc…). I have ditched antique and festering lip products and decided to look at current needs. I purchased three KBeauty lip glosses I can chuck in my bag and drag around to use at work, etc. The packaging is not my cup of tea. Got to be honest. The juice is almost identical to VB glosses (much prefer their packaging). I purchased a light, almost latte colour, the ubiquitous bunny tongue pink and less saturated Clinique Black Honey competition. (I prefer it - slightly less purple/more brown.) Less than 25% of the price. Also new shampoo. Need it. Almost out.

MotherWol · 11/07/2024 15:18

@Fraaahnces what's the black honey dupe you've gone for? I'm a sucker for the balm tint type products, currently considering the Trish McEvoy and Fresh ones.

Fraaahnces · 11/07/2024 22:03

@MotherWol Peripera Ink Lasting Gloss (not tint)
the one I am referring to is no 6 “Made It”. Really cushiony glosses. I was worried they’d be sticky or stringy because they appeared so thick. (Hate that) They’re not at all and the doe foot dispenses only a small amount so it’s gorgeous to wear. In the photo below it’s been sheered out. It’s a little deeper on me but still a gorgeous, browned berry shade.

Tressame conditioner - another freebie from Ocado. Did not do anything.

Nivea face wash - only sits on my skin for one second, but I like it. Light and fresh. Already have another one.

Loreal revitalift micellar water - very good. Have another one to use up.

Wella reflections hair oil - really nice. A bit too light for me. Easy to use, not sticky.

Ghost perfume - too heavy for me. Very sweet too.

Revlin colourstay foundation - have used many, many bottles of this. I’m looking for something a bit more hydrating now.

Phyto hair cream - very odd product. Difficult to rinse out and doesn’t really clean hair.

Drunk elephant bright drops - have a few of these. Not sure if it’s doing anything apart from adding shimmer.

Clinique even better dark spot serum - expensive mistake. No change in my dark spots.

First aid facial pads - quite liked these. Same effect as a toner.

Sachajuan body lotion - smells like Yankee candle (lavender). Enjoyed using it.

Elizabeth Arden white tea shower gel - looove the scent.

A few more empties:

Jorgobe bio-active balancing moisturiser - 15ml. Liked this, lightweight but still nicely moisturising.

Avant Vitamin C night mask - 50ml. OK, but quite thick and heavy and I didn’t wake up with lovely soft skin like with some sleeping masks.

Origins ultra-hydrating cream - 15ml. Have had a sample of this before. It’s a good moisturiser, but I’m not keen on the scent.

Bare Minerals original mineral veil loose powder - this was only a sample size but it still took me over seven months of daily use to use it up. Really good powder - I’m now using my only other powder, a Rimmel pressed one, and am missing the Bare Minerals.

Burts Bees lip balm in vanilla.

Bath & Body Works shower gel in Poolside Cabana - 295ml. This smelled lovely, all fresh and summery.

Bath & Body Works body lotion in Bahamas Passionfruit & Banana Flower - 236ml. One of the really strongly scented ones and too fruity/sweet for me, though the scent did grow on me a bit.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 12/07/2024 17:20

@CorneliaStreetI love the Bare Minerals mineral veil. Unfortunately, I accidentally bought the illuminating version. It's a bit more shiny but I'll finish it off (and the other powders) and then go back to the original translucent one.

Fraaahnces · 14/07/2024 10:18

I have used up some boring bits & pieces… A huge Dove body wash - fine. Dermaveen shower oil - wont buy again. It's fine but all the oatmeal ends up sludgy and cloggy and I cba with the mess. About three roll on antiperspirant deodorants. Nobody's mentioned anything about BO so I guess they were fine. Olaplex No 3. Is it really a miracle? Will go for L'Oreal next I think. Have recognised that I have no need for full-sized face powder. I alway throw away more than half years after its use-by date. Have decided a mini sized product is worth it if it’s good.

Hello, was on this thread a couple of years ago on and off and thoroughly enjoyed catching up on this one. Everyone seems to be doing very well.

Just been on holiday and last year I made sure to write myself a note about how much sunblock, bite relief, insect repellent etc I had left. Didn’t need to buy anything this year. So I’m pleased I haven’t added to the stash. And it’s not like we need any sunblock here Angry

Also managed to resist Sephora, the pharmacy and Duty Free which is good for me.

Omorovicza gentle buffing gelee sachet - the buffing grains are larger than expected but I enjoyed using it. It's gentle and effective. I'd be very happy to find it in an advent but not to pay £65 for a full size.

Tara harper moisturiser- a lovely light moisturiser but I dislike the scent, it's quite strong and a bit headache inducing for me.

@Fraaahnces Face powders have best before dates? I just use things until the box is empty. I think my record is a bronzer that I reckon lasted a good 15 years.

Fraaahnces · 15/07/2024 05:52

@OchonAgusOchonOh - it’s very humid where I live. These things get mouldy eventually. I’m not prepared to risk that. Once they smell iffy, they’re binned.

Experiment627 · 15/07/2024 06:18

Nice to see you back @VanillaSpiceCandle

Makes sense @Fraaahnces . It's very humid where I live too but unfortunately it comes in the form of incessant rain.

Nooooooooo! Sephora opening at the Bullring!

Must hide all my cards. 💳

Buster27 · 15/07/2024 22:04

Aussie bonza colour conditioner - I liked this, left my hair soft and smelt nice. Would RP.

G.O. dry shampoo - not the best I've used but all right for the price. Probably won't buy again.

ren overnight glow dark spot sleeping cream - this wasn't for me, but I wouldn't buy this type of product anyway (AC product). Won't buy.

Ritual of namaste anti-aging serum - meh, won't buy.

Garnier banana & shea hair mask - I really liked the product, smelt amazing, BUT dislike the tub. I didn't get on with the lid and prefer tubes/bottles in shower. Might RP when I forget I dislike the tub.

Beauty Pie hot oil double cleansing balm - LOVE. This was actually a GWP that's been sitting in my cupboard for a while, already RPd.

Body Shop almond hand and nail cream - really enjoyed this, sadly I have a mountain of hand cream so not allowing myself to buy any more, or I'd happily buy this. Unfortunately my handcream mountain doesn't even have any other almond ones to try.

Beauty Pie pure ceramides eye serum - like the packaging and roller ball. This is the first time I've felt an eye serum has done anything.. but I think my sleep improved around the time I started using this which I'm sure is the real reason for any change! I have RPd.

Sukin radiance gel cleanser - too heavily scented for me. Used this for second cleanse or AM, but I do prefer cream for this. Won't buy again.

I have an empty to report:

  • Jean Paul Gaultier "Le Male" sample: not sure if this is intended as unisex but I quite like it
  • Superdrug Me+ squalane lip balm: I have tried all three from this range, all three are great. Will defo RP once my stash is through.

This is so exciting but also so dangerous! Do you know which unit it’ll be in? Fingers crossed the top floor of the old Debenhams as it’s massive.

Babysharkdoodoodood · 16/07/2024 20:44

No. I just saw the coming soon announcement on Facebook.

Hopefully before Xmas

This Macrene neck and décolletage cream has a retail price of £260 on net a porter. I am pleased to have finished it as it didn't sink in well and made no visible difference when compared to a cheapo cream. It gets a post all of its own, this was in a net a porter advent calendar. I have no idea how this cost is justified for anything less than miraculous results.

@wheresmyshoe You’re halfway through! Well done!!! I didn’t count my stash but I am down to one felt storage box now so I have made a significant dent in the stash. I have decided to play a game of beauty bowling with myself. Each month an HG product is going to bowl 2-3 right out of the stash. (I have kids happy to receive them.) I was given my Mecca Beauty Loop Box yesterday and didn’t even open it. It went straight to DD2 (she was thrilled) but she returned the mini cleanser as she had too many (It’s genetic!) and Mecca also gave me a blush stick as a bday present. I haven’t tried it yet, but it’s not a category I’m oversubscribed in, so we’ll see how it looks. (Could be a nice berry colour, but as I am a light olive am dubious that it will suit.)

wheresmyshoe · 18/07/2024 07:01

Thank you @Fraaahnces it does feel satisfying to be halfway there (my stash is large than 100 but I needed a goal). This thread has helped a lot!
I like your new strategy as it spreads the joy.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 18/07/2024 08:48

Lacura balm cleanser. It's great. Does just as good a job as Elemis. Only issue is it's a special so not always available.

Aveda leave in treatment. It's fine. I keep getting it in beauty boxes an Ms advents.

A lip balm I bought at a craft fair. It was lovely but I've no idea who made it as the label fell off a fees ago.

Happy birthday @Fraaahnces !!!

I have some empties to report:

  • Isana antiperspirant deocreme 0% alcohol: I picked this up at a German drugstore whilst in Spain. I liked the idea of a cream - just you invariably end up applying with your fingers and then it is a Mother Faloones to get off. Did job most of the time & no irritation. But I could cut the tube open & I am not cos I want to move on.
  • Sun ozon suncream SPF50: also purchased at said drugstore. This was fine - and handy to carry around.
  • B by Superdrug Protect Defence moisturiser SPF 50: this is a great SPF - works well on its own or on top of day cream
  • B by Superdrug Cleanse melting cleansing balm: great for getting make-up off or giving yourself a massage
