LA Bruket hand cream, I like patchouli, I like bergamot and yet I don't like this. It smells of damp hemp to me. It does moisture well, I finished it off on my injured joint that is scaly from ibuprofen gel (solidarity to the EDS & hypermobile people).

Decleor body oil, it worked as a nice dry oil, it's years old so the scent had faded. There's a lot in this market so wouldn't buy this.

I hope everyone with various health ailments get the relief they are looking for.

I have had my fair share of shit health 😞

Very little empties

Worthy of mention:

Tresemme 2 in 1 deep cleanse. This is the one that I really like as it does not leave my hair greasy. Would RP, although it’s nothing special.

L’occitane samples.
Micellar shampoo with lavender. Smelt great and was kind to hair. Too expensive for a shampoo. Would buy if on offer.

Ultra rich face cream. Dense cream for face. I liked it for UK weather, not so much for summer when it feels too thick. Nice for winter. Might consider in future.

The rest I have reviewed numerous times. Not worth mentioning.

I have an empty to report:

  1. Superdrug Pro Care denture cleansing tablets: used these to clean my mouthguard... ok... about the same price as the Steradent ones so good to have these as an option

I have a lot of conditioners in my stash that are half used up... actually had a brainwave that instead of buying a new due of shampoo and conditioner I would actually just but a shampoo (yes, yes, I know, it is totes obvious... not sure why it took me so long to come up with this plan!). So have ordered the Aveeno apple cider vinegar shampoo - apparently (according to Mary on TikTok) vair good on oily roots. Time shall tell!

listsandbudgets · 01/07/2024 19:47

@Experiment627 I use denture cleaning tablets to clean toilets if they get a bit manky below the waterline - pop them in overnight, give it a quick scrub in the morning and flush. Works wonders!

Fraaahnces · 01/07/2024 20:23

@listsandbudgets They’re great for stained tea and coffee cups too! *must add to shopping list

Experiment627 · 01/07/2024 20:26

Welcome @HebburnPokemon !

Wow! Such great uses @Fraaahnces and @listsandbudgets! I have such an issue with both toilet limescale and stained mugs!!! I will defo give this a try!

Ditto.

Currently trying to use up various body creams before buying anything else.

Anyone else having issues with bookmarks not working? On this thread? Despite having bookmarked yesterday’s post, it has been taking back to the 23rd of May since well, the 23rd of May. WT actual Heck?
Anyhow, DD2 has come home from a trip to say “Hey Mum, the Skincare Fairy’s been! woohoo!!!”

Peridot1 · 02/07/2024 08:26

Yes @Fraaahnces! Not today for me but it definitely was happening.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 02/07/2024 08:34

@Fraaahnces I was having that issue for a while but it seems to have resolved now. Only difference is, I wasn't bookmarking anything.

PomsRun · 02/07/2024 13:09

ouai leave in conditioner, like a lot, light but effective.
Elemis cleansing balm, love, but only buy when on offer.
Ambre Solaire sof 50 was fine.
Susanne Kaufmann eye serum, rrp £140 apparently. Please don’t waste money on this (was in an AC). It didn’t seem to do anything.
omorovieza cleanser. Absolutely awful, in effective, makes eyes sting. Am chucking.

Plus a little sample too small to review.

Been watching this thread as I really like the fact it encourages to use up what you already have but also like the reviews shared on here too. I tend to go through phases of really neglecting my skin care so trying to do better. There's been a few products I've bought recommended on here, especially k-beauty ones by @Fraaahnces so thanks for that Smile so here I am now joining. We have been away from home a while so I brought with me small sizes/samples that needed using up.

Mediheal tea tree sheet masks - I know not everyone likes sheet masks but my skin loves the serum in these. Tried to see if they sold it in bottle form but no such luck. Tend to buy in bulk from stylevana
Molton brown cyress and sea fennel body wash - LOVE this. My first MB product and when I use it can smell it on my skin long after and makes the shower smell lovely. Will definitely repurchase as it'll remind me of our time away here
Kate Somerville goat milk cleanser - also like this a lot. Very soothing. Quite expensive though so wouldnt repurchase but would be very happy to see it in a beauty box
Patchology cannabis eye mask and MZ skin gold eye mask - both probably came in a beauty box. Not really fussed about either

AguaLavanda · 03/07/2024 08:20

HebburnPokemon · 01/07/2024 19:29

Marking my place as I’m a beauty addict.

Me too. I'm struggling to get through the absolute mountain of products that I have accumulated from beauty boxes, impulse buys and GWP. I seem to have a bit of an issue with body creams and perfumes currently.

paristotokyo · 03/07/2024 08:23

Aaaand I forgot to attach the pic Grin also forgot to add
AB rich cream - got samples of this and was intrigued to try as it's a very contentious beauty product! Suits my dry skin and I quite like it but way over priced so would never repurchase. Wouldn't mind it being in a beauty box (which it almost always is!)

@paristotokyo welcome! Love the MN name 💜Where did you go on your hols? Paris or Tokyo?

Welcome to you too @AguaLavanda I adore lavender water!

I have an empty to report:

  1. Reniger Kukident: denture cleansing tablets I picked up in Spain from a German drugstore (Rossman). Prefer Steradent to these. Obvs some water got in to the tube as the last tablets were all stuck together. I have used the last three on some mugs - they are soaking right now! So exciting! Tonight I plan to try my replacement Boots ones tonight on the toilet.

Some empties to report:

  1. Palmolive honey handwash - fine, did the job, unremarkable
  2. The Handmade Soap Co hand cream, nice sweet orange scent but left my hands a bit greasy
  3. Origins Ginzing gel moisturiser, not a fan, left me quite sticky
  4. Diptyque Philosykos, LOVE this. Such a gorgeous figgy scent, one of my favourites
  5. Neal’s Yard Bee Lovely handcream, really nice but the handcream stash still stands at 6 tubes so it’ll be a while before I need to repurchase.
  6. Cien conditioner - better than the shampoo in the same range but less effective than Aussie

paristotokyo · 05/07/2024 10:07

@listsandbudgets thanks! Neither place this time. Seoul! So I'm stocking up on skincare, I've done one too many hauls 🙈

OchonAgusOchonOh · 05/07/2024 10:59

L'Occitane body scrub dupe by Lacura. I really liked this. I've no idea what the real one is like but I will definitely RP this when it comes around again.

I'm not convinced Retinol actually does anything so I won't be RPing.

Nux floral oil. Disliked the scent but was fine as a body oil.

Lé Mara body butter. Only one left now😫I'll have to find a new body butter I like as much.

I've used up 62 items since I started counting in November. I've had 57 items in but that did include 2 advent calendars so not too bad. Some were also birthday presents. I will be limiting myself to 1 advent calendar this year as I do enjoy them. Half the fun is the opening threads.

Empties:

I’m From mugwort essence - 30ml. Really liked this, felt lovely to use and my skin seemed in good nick while using it. Got another one of these minis stashed.

Aromatherapy Associates instant skin firming serum - 30ml. Didn’t like the smell and didn’t think it did much.

Avant Pro-Intense illuminating day cream - 50ml. This was lovely, lightweight but still moisturising. I don’t like Avant’s inflated prices for beauty boxes business model, but the products I’ve tried from them have all been pretty good (using a lovely serum from them at the moment).

Dove Awakening Care hand cream - 75ml. Not particularly moisturising but ok for summer. Smelled nice too.

I’ve got another two or three things that are so close to being done, but will not die!

Ouai - Melrose place perfume - one of those soapy clean scents. Pleasing but not memorable

PK - conditioner, this was good on my fine hair, did its job without weighing my hair down.

Costa Brazil - moonlight body oil. I've had their normal body oil and have a slight preference for it as this one is shimmery. It's a really good product but expensive although a little goes a long. I have other body oils to use so not a repurchase. I've bought the non shimmer version before after first trying it from an advent.

Oooh hello ladies, I have been on a short trip hand luggage only (and Ryanair to boot) so I took samples and minis to use up wahey. Remembered to take a pic before chucking on the last day. Also have been getting through a few at home, hence two pics:

Travel haul:

  1. Supergoop I used up, I really like this actually tho seem to have run out (so often in ACs)
  2. Cleansing samples the Malin +Goetz was nice
  3. Lancome serum meh
  4. Fragrance yuk and I can't even see or recall what it was!

Home haul:

  1. EH Moringa balm I love this would even RP along with the Elemis that others also love
  2. Lumene Vit C cocktail another winner, love the smell as well
  3. Aurelia blemish cream - this actually works on my skin (still spotty at 60 huh)
  4. Skin Hero moisturiser I took on holiday but liked it enough to finish it properly
  5. Aromatherapy body gel was OK
  6. Two haircare products used up at the pool but nowt special

Total so far this year (and yes I am counting the samples so don't try to stop me): 71, not bad as my target was 100.

Whoops fell off the thread completely
Few empties to report
Dove foaming bath soak- I used this as a shower gel as I don't really have time for baths lol. This smelt quite nice and lathered up well.
Garnier watermelon&pomegranate conditioner- I didn't like this, made my hair greasy even though it wax for fine hair.
Batiste naturally dry shampoo- I really liked this, it didn't leave a white residue. Will rp.
Dercos oil control shampoo- I hated this, felt like my hair hadn't been washed and it made it greasy, wouldn't rp.
Clairns men active face wash- this was Dh's that he didn't want. It was very drying on my face.
L.A Bruket hand cream- I got this in a BD I think. This was the pine one. I didn't like it, wouldn't rp.
Beauty kitchen seahorse plankton+ moisturiser - I got this in the h&b ac. My face felt sticky and I don't think it actually did anything.
JPG La Belle Sample- I wasn't sure about this scent at the start as it was quite strong, by the time the sample was finished I really liked it. I don't need to rp as I have loads of perfume, would gladly accept as a gift though lol.

30/100 No way im meeting my target by the end of the year lol.

Nice to see you back @Minnie123456

I have some empties to report:

  • Aldi Mamia bedtime bath: nice smelling, bubbles well. Cheap as chips.
  • Loreal Universal Nudes Excellence Creme hair dye: second time using this - first time I went so dark (despite using 4U Universal Brown) ends were almost black. Think this time it was not so bad... maybe it really depends on what hair dye went before? Anyhoo still not my fave hair dye but am pleased to have masked my grey roots once more.
