@Experiment627 - I’ve only used the eye shadow once so can’t really comment on it much as yet. It seemed ok.

WrinklesShminkles · 17/04/2024 18:49

I've got Futuredew, but hardly ever use it. It might be better for dry skin - I find it a little oily and think it may break me out. It's like a oily serum which gives glow (some shimmer but not OTT) and you can apply before foundation as an all over glow or apply in a more targeted way as a subtle highlighter.

Fraaahnces · 17/04/2024 23:42

Thanks @Peridot1 and @WrinklesShminkles… I don’t like wearing foundation and have dry skin. Just want a bit of and extra glow. Could be what I need. It’s just a lot to spend to get it here.

MyRabbit79 · 18/04/2024 13:13

@Fraaahnces I have Futuredew and I do quite like it. It smells nice and gives a definite glow, although I did realise after looking at a photo that it can be a bit much when used all over. I now use on cheekbones as a highlight. It's quite an oily texture which works for me as I have dry skin.

MyRabbit79 · 18/04/2024 13:17

More empties!
An ancient Bumble and Bumble texturising spray. Would not RP, didn't do much for me

Garnier hair food. This is sold as being a conditioner and also a mask, but for my hair it feels like an average conditioner packaged in a tub to look like more. I've wanted to finish it for ages so I can try something more suited to my damaged hair.

Collection lip stain. Had this forever and it's not my colour so am binning it. Like the felt pen style of it though

Living proof anti frizz shampoo. I was relieved this wasn't great as I'm sure it's very expensive. Smells lovely, doesn't do anything beyond cleaning my hair.

@MyRabbit79 Thank you so much for your response. It sounds lovely. It’s just so expensive to get it sent here. Tempting though… it sounds right up my alley. I kind of like the oily, sweaty look. I fantasize about looking healthy.

clary · 20/04/2024 10:17

Oooh loads more empties from me. I’ve vowed not to start anything new until I finished all versions of that currently on the go (so no more night cream until I finish current one etc) in a bid to clear my dressing table. Hence some rather random skin products I’ve used up:

· Ren rose sugar scrub – love this and will RP
· Paula’s choice AHA – also love this, it was a RP but I have a few toners to use up
· Sol de Janeiro bum bum – I know this is not loved here but I like it, always happy to have
· Elemis cleanser – HG for me, this was in the Boots box last Dec and made it worth buying on its own. Will RP once cleansers used up
· This works deep sleep – I love this but need to use up some other creams before RP
· The Ordinary niacinamide – this was OK, not bad for the price tbh
· Medik8 Retinol – did not like this, smelt yucky also hated the packaging (which is a big part of this for me) was in an AC 2 years ago
· Ole Hendrikson eye cream – this was a freebie from work and actually pretty good. Have nabbed another freebie 
· Sachajuan shampoo and conditioner – only OK

Annoyed that I have lost count of empties so far this year, but I think I was on about 16 so let's say I'm now at 25.

A few more empties:

Biossance squalene antioxidant cleansing oil - 25ml. This was very nice, I just prefer cleansing balms.

Haruharu Wonder black rice 5.5 soft cleansing gel - just a sample sachet, but really liked it. I may now have acquired a full size 🙂

Kate Somerville Total Repair cream - 30ml. I think this was from the Red beauty box I got last summer. It’s quite a rich cream so I used it as a night cream. It was very nice (but not £110 for 30ml nice).

Grown Alchemist hydrating sunscreen - 10ml. This was very thick and heavy and left my skin really greasy, even with no moisturiser underneath. Used it up on my neck.

Aveeno Fresh Green Blends shampoo - 300ml. This seemed to really suit my hair, was nice to use and smelled lovely too. Have bought another one.

Pantene Grow Strong conditioner - 275ml. This was also really good, properly conditioning but didn’t leave my hair limp.

Love Body & Earth hand cream is Pink Sugar - 30ml. Fine, not horrible but nothing special. Four of these down, two to go.

Love seeing all the empties and mini reviews. I've slowed down a bit but have lots of things on the go.

Bloom & Blossom Disco nap pillow spray. Designed for people with far more exciting lives than mine to take a cat nap before heading out to more parties. I used it at 10:30pm hoping for a solid 8 hours sleep. It's nice enough but not a rebuy as I have other pillow sprays to work through.

Elemis mini shower gel - it's fine, it smells nice and doesn't leave residue. Hotel mini from the stash that I use up when staying at places that don't offer such pleasing toiletries.

Fraaahnces · 21/04/2024 11:11

A few empties..,
MUK, Deep Muk, Ultra Soft Leave In Conditioner. Very nice and very effective - especially since my hair is a wreck. Very much need a trim & some foils as haven’t had anything done since October. I like that this is not overly scented. I’d buy it again, but have purchased the Pureology one beloved by the Blowout Professor.
MUK, Hot Muk, Thermal Protector. I think it has helped protect my fine hair a bit.

Fraaahnces · 21/04/2024 11:30

Skin bits include Laneige Berry Sleeping Mask. Fab. Like other flavours better. 💋💋💋💋💋 for the product itself , 💋💋💋 for the flavour.
Laneige Cream Skin Toner. This is beginning to look like it’s a sponsored post, isn’t it? Promise it’s not. This is one of those amazing products for when your skin needs extra love. When it’s dry or the skin barrier is damaged. I couldn’t use it every day where I live - maybe in a dry climate…. anyhow, it is like a hug for your face. It’s full of ceramides and peptides and is supposed to be equivalent to a moisturiser. (Not entirely sure, but then again it’s not far off.) I have used this for years. The packaging has changed since my last purchase and it looks very fancy. I prefer to spray this than pat on with hands. 💋💋💋💋💋Canmake Mermaid Skin Gel UV - used to be a favourite sunscreen. They have changed the formula. It’s much more work. I have been using this on days when I haven’t needed makeup as it doesn’t play nice anymore. It’s effective and it still feels better than slimy, greasy ones, but it’s not a pleasure to use like others. 💋💋 Trussardi Donna EDP. Love. Another blind buy from the chemist. PThis is the one my DH declared smelled “Just like Marmelade!” and when he saw my underwhelmed expression, he saved himself by saying “Sexy Marmelade!!!” so now that’s a thing. I bet it’s discontinued. All of the scents I love go to heaven. 💋💋💋💋💋

Peridot1 · 21/04/2024 11:46

Sounds like I need that Laniege toner at the moment @Fraaahnces. My skin is so dry and sore at the moment.

Fraaahnces · 21/04/2024 14:15

@Peridot1 - highly recommend. Normally with a toner I would suggest you apply before serum, but this is so impressively moisturising I would be tempted to apply afterwards. (Obviously try…) It is available at Sephora here. Not cheap, but lasts forever.

Peridot1 · 21/04/2024 15:31

@Fraaahnces - I have just ordered it. Space NK do it here. Our equivalent of Mecca. Thanks for the recommendation!

Fraaahnces · 21/04/2024 16:41

Glad to help! One day someone’s going to pop up and say “Who’s this know it all who thinks she’s James Welsh???” (I wish! Actually no, he’s lovely. Let him be him.) Or even worse, someone will say “Oi, @Fraaahnces… you recommended X product and I hated it!!!”

Buster27 · 21/04/2024 21:49

L'Occitaine Verveine shower gel - this was nice, strong scent (although not one I'd pick if buying). I'd buy in another scent.

The Body Shop mango body mist - got this in an advent calendar a few years ago.. I don't remember disliking it at first, but by halfway I was only using it because I hate binning things. I should have just binned 😂 I swear the last tenth of the bottle lasted forever. By the last wear I probably used about fifty spritzes in desperation to finish it. I'm giving myself permission to just chuck next time I'm not enjoying something.

Cien nature's beauty manuka honey conditioner - very average, I'm a sucker for honey so tried on a whim but won't repurchase.

Verden hortosa hand and body cream - I used as body cream because my hand cream stash is out of control. Quite liked the scent, although wouldn't choose it, but disliked the texture. It took a lot of rubbing in. Won't buy.

Sure maximum protection anti-perspirant - quite liked, would consider RPing but also hoping I find something I like more.

Experiment627 · 24/04/2024 11:01

I have a few empties to report:

  • Baylis & Harding Kindness+ vitamin C & niacinamide body wash: third one of these I have tried - Hyaluronic Acid one is my fave & I will definitely RP if I see on offer.
  • Bespoke Bergamot & Rose musk: bought this in Superdrug for about £7 whilst seeking a dupe for Stella... there was no tester... I should have not risked it. Was not foul but definitely not one I would RP.

^& and Ritual if sakura body cream.. quite a sweet smell but like it sinks in nicely

51/100

Fraaahnces · 24/04/2024 14:46

Finished another bottle of Aura by Thierry Mugler. I think I love this one. I loathed it the first time I sprayed it, then walked around a bit and it simply evolved. It’s a wet, planty kind of smell which I adore.
I also finished up the very last sprays of my Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Mandarine Basilic. Sigh…. Bloody love this one. I have a bottle of Ginger Piccante ready to go for Winter so all is not lost.

MidnightMeltdown · 24/04/2024 23:18

More empties:

135) Original Source Body Wash - like this, was repeat purchase

136) Ritual of Sakura Body Cream - snap @listsandbudgets! Loved the scent initially, but started to get a bit tired of it towards the end.

137) Elvive Colour Protect Shampoo - repeat purchase

138) Origins Youth Serum - this was nice and hydrating. I like Origins products

139) Primark Lip Balm - did the job. No better or worse than the Augustinus Bader one that I was using before, and far more eco friendly packaging! I like the fact that the packaging is mostly cardboard. The AB one looked like it would survive in landfill forever. I don't understand people who want expensive packaging for consumable products.

140) Prai MenoGlow Moisturiser - M&S randomly sent me samples of this (I hadn't even ordered any beauty, honest!). I'm not menopausal yet, so wasn't sure whether or not I should be offended 😂, but thought that I'd give it a whirl! It's actually quite nice. Cooling gel type consistency, but still pretty moisturising. Would be good for summer or holidays abroad. Think I have another one that they sent me still in the stash.

clary · 24/04/2024 23:28

ooojh @listsandbudgets I also love that REN eye cream - have one in my stash.

Found my previous post so updated total for year is 32 empties.

Today I ditched a serum that was surplus and not very fancy (can't recall make); Sanctuary body cream tiny pot from Next AC (don't like smell, too small to sell); Jordan Samual Hydrate the Mist (not sure what the point was); HiSmile tooth whitener - tried to sell on eBay but listing was removed as it "was fake" (it wasn't, it was in a Boots box pre-Christmas.)

All of these I stuck in my work kitchen with a note saying "please give me a home" - gone within the hour so that's a result.

Calling that four more products so a total of 36.

MidnightMeltdown · 25/04/2024 00:13

Ooh I forgot I also ditched two products. One was a Tresemme Keratin Smooth conditioner. It wasn't conditioning and it didn't make my hair smooth, it just left it feeling dry. I don't like waste so I battled though 3/4 of the giant bottle, but I never wanted to use it and it was starting to attract mould in the shower, so it had to go. To be honest, I've never liked any Tresemme product that I've ever tried, but as I hadn't tried it in years, and I kept hearing good things about it, I wanted to give it another try. Mistake. Still battling through a shampoo but that might have to go soon too..

Also chucked an Alpha H liquid gold. I do like this product, but this one was ancient and had been forgotten about at the back of a cupboard. It was open and there was only about 1/4 left, so it went.

Brings my total to 142/200

Fraaahnces · 26/04/2024 02:39

I am off to buy some serum (because I have been out for weeks) and of course the store I am going to is having its 10 year anniversary sale. I’m going to have to be be dry strong. (I will buy bits for DD’s bdays which are coming up if they are cheaper than online prices though.) Speaking of online… Am still waiting on Stylevana to ship packages purchased 26/03 and 06/04. Le sigh…

Peridot1 · 26/04/2024 09:01

@Fraaahnces the Laniege hydrating toner arrived and I’ve used it the last few days. Seems nice. Hard to tell if it’s made much difference as I’ve been layering on all the hydrating products and also had a HydraFacial with a hydration booster!

@clary - I’m almost at the end of a bottle of Jordan Samuel Hydrate the Mist. I have to say I’m a big Jordan fan - even had my photo taken with him and had a hug at a Caroline Hirons event! - but I don’t find the mist that great on its own. I use it in a ‘sandwich’ with a hylauronic acid serum. Spray the mist, then apply the HA then mist again. It seems to help with hydration that way.
