I have more face/ skin/ beauty products than I can bear to think about, so decided when I joined this thread to start using them up!
My very first empty to report...
Aveeno Skin Relief - Body Oil Spray - I loved this product, it smells lovely... Often was asked what perfume I was wearing! Being as it is an oil you have to let it dry before putting on clothes else you can get a little mark! I have lots more to get through so won't repurchase yet, but definitely would ☺️

Welcome @LilyJessie. I’m a big fan of Aveeno products.

Well I’ve been ruthless. I went through all my beauty bits and had 100s. About 600 items, mostly from advent calendars, beauty boxes, Cult Beauty edits and free with purchase type boxes that Space NK do. On top of things I’ve brought. I actually feel ashamed! It’s 1000s worth of product.

I tried putting a few on eBay and cleared over £100 so treated myself to some bits for the house that we needed.

Then in the last few weeks have used up:

Olaplex 3 - loved it and will rp when I’m under control but have other similar pre treatments to use up first.

Philip Kingsley Elasticiser - Again love it, similar to the Olaplex. Have another three to use up, this was smallest tube.

Philip Kingsley Shampoo and conditioner - Both good but unlikely to rp

Keratin Hair mask - was okay, to be honest I’ve had so much on my hair it’s never been softer, bouncier or shinier. These high end products do work when you use instead of stash!

Another conditioner. Was forgettable!

Christopher Robin salt hair purifier. Really liked, was a rp from one in an advent calendar. Currently on a purchasing ban though!

Big pot of random moisturiser and small pot that was half used. Both were from either the Space NK, JL or CB advent but they were nice but forgettable.

I’ve sorted everything else into categories and will start working through, will sell some more too.

I need to unsub from SpaceNK and CB emails!

Thats an incredible amount of money to make from Ebay! Well done. I think I need to try with my stash.

Welcome @LilyJessie !

I have some empties to report:

  • Boots nail polish remover - had this for yonks but still worked just fine. I have so much nail polish I want to make an effort to wear more often and get through the stash - even if it means chucking stuff cos I do not like it.
  • Schwarzkopf brow tint: great alternative to getting done in a salon. Also I sometimes retouch my roots with this. Loved the brush and mixing thing with this one.
  • Superdrug Me+ peptide lip balm: I bought all 3 from this range - cannot tell them apart but they are all brilliant.

Jenny Glow lime & basil - excellent long lasting dupe for Jo Malone.

Colab dry shampoo - not great. Preferred the one I had before but unfortunately can't remember the brand.

Lacura collagen and gold serum. I liked the little sparkly bits that I assume were definitely not gold but it was only ok. Wouldn't RP

Elizabeth Arden oil. A bit too greasy for the face. It was fine as a body oil but I wouldn't RP.

Clarins detox booster. I have no idea what this was meant to do or if it did it.

Peridot1 · 11/02/2024 15:29

I had some empties last week but deleted the photo accidentally. One was Margaret Dabbs foot hygiene cream. Really liked it and will repurchase when the couple of other foot creams I have are gone.

One was Allies of Skin vitamin c serum. Worked better when I realised it is waterless and you need to apply to wet skin. Was ok though.

Can’t remember the others!

BlindurErBóklausMaður · 11/02/2024 16:45

My first contribution of empties! I am inspired by you guys.

L'Occitane lavender hand wash.

A thing of quiet beauty. I rarely buy it but dd buys it me for birthday and Christmas. Reminds me of my mum who insisted on "nice soap". I've got another in my stash which I'll use later in the year.

CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser.

Not much to say about this. It's a cleanser. It's apparently a holy grail of cleansers. It does the job. I prefer a thicker cream, but will probably repurchase at some point.

Shiseido dead posh and ever so scientific serum samples.

The story goes you MUST use the morning one the morning after the night one as something in the morning one does something very special to the hyaluronic molecules in the night one which have been sitting on your face waiting for action.

TL:DR= it's hyaluronic acid, Jim, but not at the price we know it.

Obviously will not purchase unless I lose all sense of reality.

Neutrogena Body Lotion.

This is the best body lotion ever. Probably my 10th bottle since discovering it in Tesco for about £4. Smells lovely and fresh, fairly thin consistency that sinks in immediately. Hydrates for days. Holy Grail.

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 11/02/2024 17:41

Ohhhh I am tempted by the Neutrogena HG@BlindurErBóklausMaður

I also have a few empties:

A bar of soap by Harleys and Bayley or something along this line in rose, vanilla and something else scent. You can tell by my lack of detail that it was pretty unremarkable and plain. Did the job but I won’t be Rp anything from this brand as it’s not great.

Huggies wipes: HG

Garnier delicate oat milk conditioner. Did the job, it’s pleasant. I would RP but too many in my stash.

Lacura almond body scrub. I liked this. Very much resembles the original from L’occitane but with less beads. Would rp but it’s a limited edition .

Cicapair colour correction treatment. I find fascinating that a green cream turns skin colour after you apply it. Nice for redness. Too little a sample to commit though.

Neusc P Rosa, shea butter bar. Amazing smell. Takes me back to childhood as my dad used to use this on his very cracked fingers. I use it on my discoid eczema on my hands and it helps a lot because it does not sting. I Rp a few every time I go to Spain. HG for my hands. It is greasy so I mainly use it at bedtime.

Another infamous Mason and Miller shampoo. I am close to finish them all.

A DD frozen II lipgloss that smells rank.

Let’s ignore my hand shadow in the picture 🤣

A few empties…
Beauty of Joseon Eye Serum. The most effective eye serum I have used. I will repurchase when I get rid of everything I have. (It is the highest-strength retinal (more effective than retinol) before it becomes prescription-only.)
Some By Mi Retinol Intense Eye Cream. It’s great, but not as great as the BOJ one. I opened the other one in my stash tonight. I am using it around eyes and lips, on neck and décolleté a couple of times a week.
Super Gloss Lip Balm. Big standard. Not great, not bad.
Broke my no-buy. I purchased a small tube of Dermeze Ointment. It is a mix of soft parrafin and white parrafin and I am using it for slugging. Also around cuticles.

FiveShelties · 13/02/2024 05:34

Four empties for me making 10 so far in 2024. Lots more to go🤗
L Occitane Ultra Cream, just a 5ml tube, which was in an Flight Amentity pack. I loved it, just sinks in and smells good.
No 7 Protect & Perfect Advanced Day Cream. I have used this for a while off and on over the years.
Harakeke Seed Oil & Manuka Water, hand and body cream. Another product from a flight. It is lovely, will definitely purchase when I get through some of the stash.
Grapefruit & lotus EDT. I found this when I was clearing my Mum's house in October. Really fresh and ideal for summer. I think it may be from M&S, but not sure.

Have not purchased anything this year. Resolve surely tempted today, we have our hot water boiler in the loft which has developed a leak. There is nothing like the feeling of standing on wet carpet, looking up and realising water is dripping through the light fitting and down through an internal wall😂Happy days!!

Some more empties, mainly little things:

Then I Met You living cleansing balm - 90g. A thick balm with a fruity scent. It was pretty good, but I still prefer Farmacy Green Clean.

The Nue Co barrier culture cleanser - 15ml. A runny gel cleanser, similar to the Biossance squalene amino one and the Byoma creamy jelly cleanser. Unlike those, I found this one a tiny bit stripping.

Bare Minerals Skinlongevity long life herb serum - 15ml. This was really runny and looking it up online, I’m not sure it’s supposed to be that way! I’ve only had it a couple of months and it smelled fine so hopefully it wasn’t off. Either way, it didn’t really seem to do anything.

Patchology illuminating eye gels - certainly illuminating, my skin looked bright white underneath when I took them off. Not sure that’s a good look.

Living Proof 5 in 1 styling treatment - 118ml. This did a good job controlling flyaways and did seem to give my hair a bit of volume, but my hair also seemed to get more greasy than usual by the end of the day.

L’Occitane cherry blossom hand cream - 75ml. From this year’s M&S advent. It was ok, but much prefer their Shea hand cream.

Commodity Milk perfume - 5ml (I think). Absolutely loved this, so warm and cosy but complex at the same time. Seriously strong though and this is only the medium strength one they do. There’s also a bold version, which must knock out passers by. I’m very tempted to buy a full bottle (though I’ve just bought a bottle of Kayali Vanilla 28 as a cosy evening at home perfume, so I really shouldn’t).

Burt’s Bees lip balm in Tropical Pineapple - love these lip balms, love all things pineapple.

Some empties to report.
Klorane Oat Milk dry shampoo, pretty good but I seem to get through it quick, you need a lot for it to work well, well my greasy mop does anyway. Would RP.
Bionsen aluminium free mineral deodorant. Throwing this away half full as it simply does not work. Smells nice when it goes on but if I move even slightly my pits immediately smell like chicken noodle soup.
Boots vitamin E eye cream, had this for a million years, so glad to see the back of it, does nothing.
Dr Jart’s Cicapair Tiger Grass Colour Correcting Treatment. Love love this, have RP a full size while on offer at Boots. I can wear it to cover my Rosacea when I don’t want a full face of foundation, or as a base underneath. Have been using this every day, it’s my new staple.

@sallyanne33 i really wish I wasn’t drinking my morning coffee when I read your description of your pits smelling like chicken noodle soup! Very ladylike snorting ensued! I have entirely given up on “natural” deodorants. Haven’t found any that work… We have an “organic” acquaintance who came to stay with us when my twins were tiny. I was inundated with her unsolicited opinions about nappies, breastfeeding, vaccinations, shaving, etc…. She then started on about the rock she was wiping into her pits and how well it worked, etc. I couldn’t help myself and said “You live in a hot, humid climate, don’t shave and buy thrifted 70’s synthetic clothes. It’s about time someone told you that it really DOESN’T work!” (Very sleep deprived at that time. Normally I’m much more patient)

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 16/02/2024 00:10

@Fraaahnces nobody would blame you for such a response. Honestly, they don’t work for me either. My DD4 had the most amusing comment yesterday. She said mummy you smell like grandma (she had her face near my armpits) so I wasn’t very happy 😆

Experiment627 · 16/02/2024 06:16

@sallyanne33 chicken noodle soup? 😳🤢

@Fraaahnces did your friend ever talk to you again?

On "natural" deodorants, I recently tried both Wild and Fussy - both "worked" but I preferred Wild. That said my cousin trued Wild and she hated it. Horses for courses.

Fraaahnces · 16/02/2024 21:26

@Experiment627 She is someone who very much was only my DH’s friend. She has been friends with him and his (male) mates since high school and has been a problematic “I know him better than you do” kind of person in all of their relationships also. She set herself up as the Queen Bee and did not cope when they all married and she did not.

Experiment627 · 17/02/2024 12:03

Oh man @Fraaahnces smelling of BO and not a good friend - lethal combo!

I have an empty to report:

  • Superdrug Intensive foot cream: in desperation to use this up I started applying to my legs. It fairs no better as a body lotion than it does as a foot cream. Takes ages to sink in and does not really add any moisture/hydration when it does.
OP posts:
SwordBilledHummingbird · 17/02/2024 16:39

Quite a few empties here:

  • Malin+Goetz Leather votive - nice and I'd be happy to get another in a kit but I won't be replacing.
  • GoW Lemon Balm Hydrosol - I'm not that keen on this one, it works well but not my favourite scent. I actually meant to buy lemongrass but bought this by mistake.
  • Bobbi Brown Extra Repair Eye Cream Intense - nice as a night time eye cream in winter but a bit heavy otherwise, won't rebuy but occasionally end up with one as a freebie.
  • Origins Ginzing Energising Gel Cream - I find this a bit too light but keep ending up with more in GWPs.
  • Apothecary Restore Body Wash - this is a lot like the White Company's Spa Restore but a lot less strongly scented and much cheaper. Personally I'd rather pay the extra for TWC though.
  • Bayliss & Harding Sweet Mandarin & Grapefruit body wash - I reallly like the scent of this but no need to rebuy as I have a huge bottle of Verden D'Orangerie body wash.
  • Cowshed Kahai Wonder Balm - Got this in the 2022 Cowshed advent calendar and expected to hate it but it's actually worked wonders on my dry cuticles and other patches of dry skin. Will rebuy but not just yet as i have cuticle oil and foot lotion to get through first.
PomsRun · 18/02/2024 11:56

Finally some empties:
Elemis Ginseng toner- was very old so chucked the rest.
L’occitane hand cream - picked up 5% in error, prefer the 20% one.
Garnier hydrating lotion - complete stable, I stockpile it when on offer.
Eve Lom foaming cleanser was fine.
Omorovicza charcoal cleaner- rubbish and messy.
Neom shower gel- was ok, not a rp.
Dizziak deep conditioner- liked a lot. Would rp but have others to use up.

Aveda cherry shampoo and conditioner- very nice (forgot to take pic before recycled).

15/80

Experiment627 · 20/02/2024 09:24

I have an empty to report:

  • Baylis & Harding Kindness Hyaluronic Acid hand wash: used this as a shower gel as the pump broke. Absolutely adore the scent (Pear & Orange Blossom), will defo RP.

Head and shoulders 1l. Ok, plenty in stash.

Sweet orange hand wash from Costco. It’s ok too. Does the job.

Eau my unicorn fresa toothpaste. From Spain, my daughter rushes to brush her teeth several times a day. Does the job.

Rituals of karma body scrub. Very pleasant, nice smell and texture and slightly abrasive. Would rp, this was a gwp.

Rituals of namaste face exfoliator. Amazing smell, very thin granules to exfoliate (think bicarbonate of soda) feels like it’s doing a good job. Would rp, also another gwp

Buster27 · 22/02/2024 11:55

Nivea pearl & beauty anti-perspirant - fine but I probably prefer others.

Beauty Pie one powder wonder perfecting powder - love this, but this one didn't last as long as usual as toddler smashed it when it was new. Have another in my stash already.

Beauty Pie plantastic moisture balm - GWP. This was nice as a night moisturiser, but the scent wasn't for me. Prefer others so wouldn't RP.

Cien Q10 day cream - a friend passed this on to me when she saw I had the cleanser, as she didn't like the texture of this. I liked it, not my favourite but great for the price. I live near a Lidl so often do a top up shop there, I had a voucher for a free Cien product one week so picked up one of these for my stash. Would probably RP again if trying to cut back on Beauty spending (or I get another voucher!).
