Can anyone give me a quick idiots guide? I’m sure it is very simple but I don’t understand how I post if I don’t have their address? No working printer here - help!

Also just to say if you cancel you will get an automatic 1 star review. Honestly I was so nervous the 1st time using the Evri machine, but it was much easier than I expected. Perhaps as a PP said just take a walk to the shop and just have a look at the machine first.

Summermeadowflowers · 04/11/2023 12:21

I know, I’m not making it difficult intentionally. I just genuinely don’t seem to be able to process it. I’m reading what people have written and I know the words but I don’t understand it. I am 100% not criticising anyone, it’s me, you’ve all been lovely! But I have found out how to cancel so that’s probably best. I think I thought it was easy and it probably is if you’re used to these sorts of things.

As others have said, don't cancel. Go to the shop and ask. They will be used to it!

I didn't know what to do the first time I had to use Evri like this but it was really easy (the woman behind the counter walked me through it!)

I totally understand the anxiety caused by the emails. I hate the feeling of panic from being nagged!

Summermeadowflowers · 04/11/2023 12:35

That’s a bit rubbish re the review. I’ll try a bit later, thanks

OP posts:
Summermeadowflowers · 04/11/2023 12:36

@SoupDragon i hate it. And it also makes it harder to find the email you do need when it’s buried under ‘your buyer is waiting.’

  1. Wrap the package
  2. Take it to the local evri store
  3. ask a member of staff where the Evri machine is
  4. scan the code you have, it will print the label
  5. stick the label to the package
  6. take it to the tills and ask for it to be sent

any problems ASK! People won’t bite!

Dymaxion · 04/11/2023 12:39

Place marking as this is what has put me off selling on Vinted, but thanks to the useful advice on here I might give it go Smile

MinnieL · 04/11/2023 12:39

Find the email, screenshot it then you’ll be able to easily access the QR code in your pictures.

I can tell you have a bit of anxiety regarding doing something that you haven’t done before but it really is super easy. The machine is really user friendly as a pp said and it’s easy to ask the person behind the counter for help.

If you cancel it’s really shitty for the buyer who’s paid for it and is expecting the item. Definitely give it a go before you cancel anything

Summermeadowflowers · 04/11/2023 12:40

DON’T DO IT! It was a message on here that make me think it was a good idea! Everyone has been really lovely though Smile

I’ve never heard of anyone making quite such a mountain out of a molehill.

Summermeadowflowers · 04/11/2023 12:42

@MinnieL but have they paid for it? To be honest I don’t know if I’m physically going to be able to get to the shop, it’s that which is hard, and the nagging emails are just making me feel really panicked. But surely my buyer won’t be out of pocket? I’m happy to send her the item directly if I can’t manage Vinted but I’m guessing that isn’t allowed.

OP posts:
Labtastic · 04/11/2023 12:44

But how did you think you were going to send it if you can't even go out to a shop? Seriously none of this is that hard. Loads of posters have given really specific step by step instructions. Just go and try!

Smurfmurf · 04/11/2023 12:44

Honestly OP, it’s easy. Go to the shop with the parcel and your phone. Scan the bar code, put it on the package, leave it and walk out the store.

It takes seconds. You are winding yourself up for absolutely no reason at all.

Yes they have paid. Vinted holds the payment and the money is released to you when the buyer receives the item

MinnieL · 04/11/2023 12:46

Of course they’ve paid for it. You’re not just going to send off an item for free are ya OP? As soon as you accept their offer, they have to pay straight away and then the process starts. You only get the money transferred onto your Vinted account once the parcel has been received and the buyer has ok’d it. But they do pay straight away.

If you’re not sure whether you can physically make it to the shop then how were you planning to send the parcel if you had their address anyway?

Summermeadowflowers · 04/11/2023 12:47

@Labtastic i thought it would be the post office. I also thought I’d be able to do it on the nursery run when I just have one child with me - I am not sure how to manage a toddler baby and not having a clue what I’m doing!

I have 100% acknowledged I was/am stupid for not having checked first, ‘it’s easy’ doesn’t translate to ‘this will be easy for everyone’

Most or you have genuinely been lovely, I’m just a bit tearful today and I don’t even know why. I’m not normally daft like this but it just feels like one more thing. I’m annoyed I’ve done it to myself.

Lilq5 · 04/11/2023 12:48

Just go into your local evri drop off point and ask the shop owner to help you as you're new to vinted and don't understand the process. 9 out of 10 will be happy to help.

If you can take a parcel to a post office and get it posted over the counter, you can take a parcel to a shop and get it posted.

New things that are a faff are only new and complicated once, then it’s simple.

I'm a muppet usually by vinted it piss easy

Go to shop.

Show them code

They will take parcel

Wait for money to clear

Spend it.

wited · 04/11/2023 12:54

See? Can't even spell. But and is.

MinnieL · 04/11/2023 12:59

OP it sounds as if you’ve really wound yourself up here. Take a step back and get away from the thread for a while.

When you can, take the kids outside just as if you’re going to the corner shop. I’ve taken my two toddlers to both Evri and Yodel drop off points three times this week to sale items on Vinted.

I usually do the Evri one within a few clicks but when one of my toddlers want to throw themselves on the floor, the guy behind the till will just do it for me with no problem. The people behind the till HAVE to get involved as they need to take your name and provide you with a receipt. So you have to talk to someone and have their help anyway. Good luck, it’s really no faff

Hallmark1234 · 04/11/2023 13:02

Are you able to print the label yourself at home OP?

If you have a printer, open the Evri label in the message. They give you the option to either print at home, or print in store, then you just need to drop it off at your local drop off and they will give you a little blue ticket to keep as your proof.

Please don't feel bad. I was overwhelmed once, as I had no printer and tried to use the one in the library, but it was too complicated and I left, without a label, almost in tears of frustration. Thankfully you now have the option to always print in store, which has made it so much easier if you don't have a printer.

If you don't have a printer, choose print in store. You will be emailed a label. It will contain a QR code. Once in store there is a dedicated Evri printer. You press begin. It asks if you have a code. Press yes, then show your QR code to the screen. It will print automatically. Sometimes it can take bit of jiggling before it picks up the code.

Just check before you go that your local Evri has the facility to print in store. If it doesn't you need to go to another one that does. Check on the store locator and it will tell you which ones print in store.

Good luck!

YoBeaches · 04/11/2023 13:02

You're overthinking it OP. Take the package and the code to the shop and you will work it out. There will be instructions there or a staff member will help you.

Even worth kids. You're mental
Blocker here is going to the shop. We can't help you much further because we can't see your shop.

NoReallyThough · 04/11/2023 13:04

Using vinted is easy but now that yodel don't do print at home labels it's a bit of a ball ache. If I have a few parcels the shopkeeper prints out the labels all at once (he won't do individually) so I then have to be really sure that I'm putting the right label on the correct parcel. Much more faff.
