Try a you tube tutorial there must be one

evtheria · 04/11/2023 11:04

If:

  1. your parcel is wrapped up securely
  2. you have a label either to print off or get printed by a shopkeeper
  3. you know which shop or post locker you must go to
  4. you have taken it, had the label scanned (either off your phone or the parcel) and handed it over (if evri they will give you a little blue receipt, if using a locker the locker screen will help you get an email confirmation)

The shipping company AND vinted will automatically know you've given the parcel, and they will tell the buyer. You don't have to do anything after you have "posted" it.

evtheria · 04/11/2023 11:06

PS Shopkeepers will be used to these parcels, don't be afraid to tell them it's your first one/ask if they can show you what to do... It's a very easy process and they do nearly all/most of it!

Valhalla17 · 04/11/2023 11:08

Don't panic op, ignore all the silly emails they send. It's just the app sending notifications etc and you still have plenty of time to send. Take a breath. You aren't a fool, just figuring out something new. Brew

Comedycook · 04/11/2023 11:11

Op...I can find this stuff stressful but honestly vinted is really easy and user friendly.

It should say that the buyer bought you a label with a box you can click. It will probably have the option of a printable or digital. If you don't have a printer, choose the digital label. Then look to see where your nearest postal place is...you then show your qr code and the label will be printed for you. If the label does not have a digital option, don't panic...just go to your nearest library..they usually have printers you can use.

moving forward, go to your settings in vinted and you can choose what postage options you want to offer.

Findyourneutralspace · 04/11/2023 11:13

Right. Deep breath.

Have you found your delivery label yet? That is the first thing. It will be in your messages, probably linked from the purchase confirmation.

What type of label is it? A QR code or a print out label?

Once you’ve figured this we can help with the next step.

Ineedanewsofa · 04/11/2023 11:15

You also will need different shops for different labels - for example if it’s Yodel I have to drop off at the local Co-op, if it’s Evri it’s the One Stop, if it’s Royal Mail it’s the post office and if it’s parcel lockers it’s outside a local school (randomly!)
all the staff in the shops will be very used to doing these parcels so don’t worry, as long as you’ve got a screenshot of your label they’ll do the rest. Good luck!

Summermeadowflowers · 04/11/2023 10:55

I know but it’s the emails stressing me out! ‘Your buyer is waiting’. I feel like replying ‘fuck off!’ (Not really!)

I know I sound like a complete idiot but I get that I have an item of clothing the lady has bought and I have it packaged, I go to the shop with a label on my emails but then I don’t know what to do.

Ive messaged the buyer and apologised and explained I don’t really understand what to do.

Go to the shop and say “I have an Evri/Yodel/InPost parcel to send,” they will do it for you. They usually have a scanner, scan the barcode on your email then they just print off an address label and take your parcel

TokyoSushi · 04/11/2023 11:16

Honestly it is really easy (I've sold 100+ items) Can you tell us what your email says or see which courier the buyer has chosen and we can help you?

Overthinking22 · 04/11/2023 11:20

Maybe go to Profile/Settings/Postage to see what you have selected as a starting point?

Or Profile/Settings/Account Settings to check your email address?

JMSA · 04/11/2023 11:20

Have you had to cancel the sale? Poor buyer Confused

Comedycook · 04/11/2023 11:23

Op...do you have a digital label?
Do you know where your nearest drop off point is?
Just go there with your phone and ask them to help you.

MammaTo · 04/11/2023 11:23

if you’ve sold something you should get asked do you want a digital or printed label - so if you’ve not got a printer it needs to be digital.
Itll then give you instructions based on what option the buyer has chosen. You don’t need to know their address.

amylou8 · 04/11/2023 11:27

You said you've messaged the buyer, so go back to the screen that you did that from. On there there will be a box, that will be red by now, that says download label. Press that. It will say either evri, inpost or yodel, note which one it is. Select the option that says digital label then continue. You'll get some sort of bar code or QR code. Screen shot it so you don't lose it.
Google either evri, inpost or yodel, which ever one it said, choose find a drop off, put in your postcode and find where the nearest drop off is. If its yodel it will be a shop, if it's inpost it will be a locker, if it's evri it will tell you lockers and shops...you need a shop not a locker as you can't print labels for evri at lockers.
Pack your parcel, take it to the shop or locker. The shop will tell you how to print the label. The locker you scan the code and put it into the locker without any labels on it (scary but they sort it out).

Comedycook · 04/11/2023 11:28

This week I sold something and the buyer choose yodel. This is what I did...

packaged item

Looked up nearest drop off point

went to shop

On vinted app, I pressed 'open digital label'

this have me a qr code on the screen. I showed this to the woman behind counter. She scanned it. A label was printed.

lady hands me label...I stick it on parcel. Lady shows me huge box/crate in shop where you put parcels. I put parcel in there.

lady writes me a receipt. Job done.

FrangipaniBlue · 04/11/2023 11:38

Hi @Summermeadowflowers I'll try to set out a step by step for you.....

  1. open the Vinted app
  2. Go into your profile tab on the bottom right
  3. select settings
  4. select postage
  5. use the sliders to decide what postage method buyers can chose - I have mine set to evri and yodel as these are the only 2 where there are drop off points close to my house

This will now apply to all FUTURE sales, so won't change the postage for things you've already sold.

Next, to post an item:-

  1. open the Vinted app
  2. go into the inbox tab (next to your profile tab at the bottom)
  3. there will be what looks like a message from the buyer - open that
  4. there will be a button to create postage/label, tap that
  5. it will give you the option to print a postage label or get a digital label, select the digital label
  6. it will now generate a QR code
  7. take your parcel to the nearest drop point for whatever courier/postage method (eg evri or yodel)

If you post a screen shot of that message we can help you with what todo next, but generally it's one of the following:-

8a) for yodel, hand the shop your parcel and show them the QR code, they will do everything needed and print a label

8b) for evri there are machines in the shop where you scan the QR code and print the label yourself then hand the parcel to the staff. The staff in the shop will be able to show you where it is and how to use it if you explain it's your first time.

8c) in post - these are a little more tricky as they are essentially big lockers where you input the code and one will open. If you can find one that is inside a shop (usually WHSmiths) the staff will help and show you what to do.

Summermeadowflowers · 04/11/2023 11:40

I think the main problem is the sheer amount of emails they’ve sent. I have got the one with the code but it’s what to do with it I’m struggling with. They’ve identified my local shop as the nearest but I have no idea where these lockers are or what to do once I’ve arrived. I’ve messaged the lady and apologised and I’m sure she thinks I’m an idiot!

I need to stop doing this to myself. I nearly gave myself a nervous breakdown with an NCT nearly new sale and someone replied with a sarky message here saying to just sell on Vinted and now I’m giving myself a nervous breakdown over Vinted!

Ok calm down...it's fine.

What carrier is it?

Summermeadowflowers · 04/11/2023 11:45

I am not sure how I find that out?

Jewelspun · 04/11/2023 11:47

Calm down. Getting yourself in a tizzy will stop you from thinking clearly.

Vinted is extremely easy to use but it sounds like you have just started selling without setting up your preferences.

Open vinted and click on ‘my orders’.

Then click on the item, it will come up with the order and a button that says ‘Get shipping label’. That will open a QR code, take that to the shop. If you aren’t sure which shop there is a button that says ‘find store’.

Summermeadowflowers · 04/11/2023 11:45

I am not sure how I find that out?

go into the app

look at your messages with the buyer

there should be something saying download label.

click it

it will give you a QR code for a courier- it will be Evri, yodel, inpost or Royal Mail.

you then take it to your local parcel shop that services that courier. Google to find out

show shopkeeper the barcode

they attach the label and post it

it honestly is simple

if you are using mumsnet, you can do it

Summermeadowflowers · 04/11/2023 11:54

So it’s Evri home delivery. It’s my local store but it’s what to do with the code once I’m in the store.

Summermeadowflowers · 04/11/2023 11:45

I am not sure how I find that out?

Go to the original email in the app that you got when it first sold. It should say that the buyer bought you a shipping label. Click on that..it may give you a choice of a printable or digital label....click on digital if you get a choice...then tell us who the carrier is

buttercupcake · 04/11/2023 11:56

Take the parcel to the shop and there will be a box on the wall where you scan the code. The people that work there will help you.
