Having it done this Saturday. I booked it about 10 weeks ago, after dithering for a year or two. I'm almost 54 years old. Eek!

Yes! Good luck

nottaotter · 17/10/2023 08:17

How did you find your surgeon? Good luck!

CollagenQueen · 17/10/2023 08:34

Someone I know who is in the field (well, she does Botox etc), recently had a Bleph herself, so I figured that was a good place to go. It's Signature Clinic.

Watching with interest! Are you scared? And how muchie?!

CollagenQueen · 17/10/2023 08:55

I am a bit scared, but also know that I really want to do something to feel like my old self again. My eyelids are hooded and I have jowls and a saggy neck, that I'm just not happy to live with anymore. It is costing £7k. It may go up slightly if I need lipo on the chin area on the day, which I honestly think that I will.

Good luck. Are you having a local or general anaesthetic?

CollagenQueen · 17/10/2023 08:57

Just a local anaesthetic. And dissolvable stitches. No overnight stay. DH will do the driving.

Good luck OP! I had a bleph at your age and the recovery barely hurt, and years later it still looks so much better than before I had it done.

CollagenQueen · 17/10/2023 09:00

One of the appeals was that they could do it under local. Don't fancy a general and all the associated risks.

Yes!!!!! Watching with intense interest - am 36 and look 50 (someone’s comment a few months ago). Have a heavily double chin and crepey neck, face also feels super heavy and looks drooped.

really keen to see before and after pics if possible and to know about your recovery.

This is good to hear!! Thanks for sharing!

Good luck OP. I'm thinking about an upper bleph at some point as my eyelids can actually droop into my vision when I'm tired. For me personally I would never risk a general for cosmetic surgery so I'm glad you're having a local.

DesparatePragmatist · 17/10/2023 09:21

Cheering you on! I'd love to do something similar as I just don't feel like me anymore. I'd be fine with being an older version of me. But I look grumpy and disapproving when I'm absolutely the opposite and it upsets me. DS keeps asking me why I look disappointed in him when I couldn't be prouder of him. If had the ££ I'd do it to tomorrow so would love to follow your journey while I save up OP!

CollagenQueen · 17/10/2023 09:31

I will definitely post before and after pics!

Amazing! I'm here for your journey!! I'm 40 and already contemplating a mini lift instead of keep paying out for Botox and filler, facials, the list goes on.

minipie · 17/10/2023 09:55

Watching. I am 43 and can see these in my future. I haven’t bothered with botox fillers etc as afaik they won’t really help these which are my main problem areas.

May I ask, what other neck/jaw procedures did you consider (thread lift?) and why have you chosen this one?

Greenshake · 17/10/2023 09:57

Ooh definitely following this! Thank you in advance for sharing your experience 🙂

Jeezo! Looks bad.

OP posts:
CollagenQueen · 17/10/2023 10:00

It's a full neck lift I'm going for. Figured a thread lift might not cut the mustard!

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 17/10/2023 10:01

What do they actually do to your chin?

CollagenQueen · 17/10/2023 10:03

Lipo and then full resculpting of the whole area.

OP posts:
bombastix · 17/10/2023 10:05

Following and good luck OP.

minipie · 17/10/2023 10:07

Bit of a random question but will you mind if people in RL know you’ve had it done?

It seems likely it will be a fairly big change so are you being open about it?

EveryKneeShallBow · 17/10/2023 10:10

Good luck, OP. I’m 60 and my face looks much worse than yours. I’d love to have something like this, but have no money. Can’t wait to see your results!
