Having it done this Saturday. I booked it about 10 weeks ago, after dithering for a year or two. I'm almost 54 years old. Eek!

I think I’d have a general if I knew how it was going to be! Can’t post much more today as I’m so tired!!

Oh dear god. I will definitely have a GA then. Not one for pain at all. Rest up.

barbarahunter · 21/10/2023 17:35

All over now, rest yourself.

I believe some surgeons give an option of IV sedation and local anaesthetic, so it's better than a GA in terms of risk, but you aren't awake or know what is happening. That's what I would choose.

OP I hope you get some rest and have someone to take care of you for the next few days.

petitepeach · 21/10/2023 19:05

Gosh the difference already!
have a lovely rest x

1AnotherOne · 21/10/2023 19:17

You didn’t meet your surgeon until the day of surgery? 😬

EveryOtherNameTaken · 21/10/2023 19:18

I'm saving for a lower face and necklift.

Keep us informed and take good care of yourself!

Jellycats4life · 21/10/2023 19:22

I want an upper bleph so badly. I’m only 42 but have extremely saggy eyed genes!

Good luck with the immediate recovery @CollagenQueen

Aww OP I read your post earlier in the week and wanted to suggest a GA .. I work in the Industry and we would never recommend all those procedures under a local .. but didn't want to scare you so kept quiet. You are obviously a very brave woman to get through it and I wish you all the best for a speedy recovery, our patients get amazing results from the procedures you have had so it will all be worth it. Can't wait to see your results.

BringMeTea · 21/10/2023 22:45

Go you OP! Look forward to hearing more when you're feeling better... Flowers

MinnieL · 21/10/2023 22:50

Bless you! Rest up, I hope your recovery is as smooth as possible

Fifireee · 21/10/2023 22:55

Wow good for you. I hope the recovery is good x

Letsrunabath · 21/10/2023 23:17

Thank you so much for your open and honest post about your experience. It’s really useful for any one thinking of going through the same.

CollagenQueen · 21/10/2023 23:30

Thanks everyone. Sorry for any typos as I can’t get my glasses on. Sitting in bed unable to sleep. I moved to daughters room (she’s not here), as needed a bed to myself! Very uncomfortable. Supposed to sleep sitting up which is proving impossible!!

only managed a few pieces of macaroni off a fork for dinner. Good for the diet! Lol

Eyes don’t feel too bad but the neck area is so sore!!

I had a thing on the table where my legs wouldn’t stop shaking. Then tonight I got super restless legs and DH looked it up and that’s what happens after trauma. It’s only really subsiding now!

Having to type then check what I’ve typed with a magnifying glass because I can’t get glasses on.

I’ve just had a half cup of hot milk to try to help me sleep. Who knows if that really works?

Thanks for all the support. I will post pics as the days go on. Tomorrow won’t look any different but Monday I can take the under bandages off so there might be progress to see.

Hope you're feeling more comfortable soon. Try to buy one of those back prop cushions and lots of pillows to aid sleeping sitting up.
