Thanks for the new thread @Stoic123 I think it’s likely there will (eventually) be discounts on most, as nothing except the Harrods calendar had actually sold out yet. But we may have to wait until well into November for that to happen.

For those interested in something a little different - the Niche Advent calendar can be stacked with their current GWP. Not bad value if you fancy the contents. Taxes are included in the price and shipping is free, so no extra costs for ordering from Europe. Still quite pricey though at £250.

AprilLady · 10/10/2023 17:59

Harrods Fragrance Calendar, that is.

QueefofSheena · 10/10/2023 18:02

Thanks @Stoic123 I'm checking in and waiting for any bargain reductions

MavisMcMinty · 10/10/2023 18:04

I was completely unmoved by all the AC offerings, started thinking maybe I wouldn’t even get one this year, then - probably because the dark evenings make it feel very wintery - I bought 3 in the space of a week!

Liberty because it “only” cost me £100 of “my own money” (BD credit of £140 plus £10 off) and the AC is the whole reason I joined anyway.

LiB - because I got £25 off plus my LiB Pro discount of 15% - felt like a bargain.

OK - on the spur of the moment and despite several DoDs, with a tenner off it felt like good value.

Think that’s it (!) for me on the AC front… unless there are any fabulous discounts nearer the time.

Boppertini · 10/10/2023 18:13

Thanks for the new thread! And thanks @AprilLady - I like the look of the Niche calendar. Probably still won’t go for it but better value with the GWP for sure.

Growlybear83 · 10/10/2023 18:19

I've got my Liberty and harrods fragrance calendars, and I'm hoping my husband has ordered Jo malone for my xmas/birthday present, but I'm so tempted by the Naturismo calendar - it's probably got more things that I would use than any of the other non fragrance calendars. But I really don't need another one! Does anyone know if this one was reduced last year?

Emmmmz9 · 10/10/2023 18:43

Anybody bought the Space NK one?

BakeOffRewatch · 10/10/2023 18:43

I’m here 👋. Still waiting until November to purchase and Vogue advent calendar is still the one I desire. Has anyone seen an unboxing of it yet? Has anyone received one? My Bimble and Bolt Runner’s Advent Calendar hasn’t arrived yet.

What's the deal with the marks and Spencer's one please?

Oneearringlost · 10/10/2023 18:50

I'm completely new to this but have adult children, (boys and girls) all in their 20s.
Can anyone explain these?
I mean, £250 for just an advent calendar??
What can you get for this?
What can anyone recommend?
I'd really appreciate someone who can explain (and maybe persuade me?)

Well you get over £1000 worth of beauty products for £250 so it is a bargain if you will use most of it.

BakeOffRewatch · 10/10/2023 18:57

Ok so I googled vogue advent calendar unboxing and there is some teasers of people with it on tik tok (I won’t get an account!). That box is huge!

Something is “worth” whatever someone is prepared to pay for it.

Some face creams/moisturisers have an RRP of £100+. They certainly wouldn’t be “worth” £100+ to me but when you get that £100+ face cream amongst 24+ OTHER products, some with similar RRPs, it makes it worth it.

Plus it’s an addiction, obvs.

wheresmyshoe · 10/10/2023 19:03

Very pleased with OK but there is room in my heart to make that Jadvent or make it main event and add a Jadvent

Do you like high-end makeup and beauty products? If not, there's probably no appeal for you. But you could also get a cheese one, or a wine one, or a gin one, or a stationery one depending on what you like. I treat myself to an expensive advent calendar because it cheers up my December, I started with ASOS which was relatively affordable and have gradually upped the budget.

If you're interested, beauty advent calendar.net is a good place to start. You can look for brands and stores you like and see what their offering is this year.

madmumofteens · 10/10/2023 19:09

Well I have taken a leap of faith and bought my daughter the space nk one i hope she likes it 😊

Emmmmz9 · 10/10/2023 19:20

Thanks @Stoic123

TheWeeDonkeyFella · 10/10/2023 19:37

Thanks Stoic. I'm not especially tempted by any calendar yet but enjoy the discussions.

@hollyblueivy You need to spend a minimum amount to be able to buy the calendar. Last year it was £30 minimum spend and then £40 for the calendar. I've seen different prices quoted this year e.g. £25 and £35 minimum spend but not confirmed on the M&S site yet.

Twinsandsome · 10/10/2023 19:56

Thanks for the new thread. Noughts space nk for a present still nothing for me I think I want harrods but I still haven’t took the leap x

hollyblueivy · 10/10/2023 19:56

Thanks @TheWeeDonkeyFella

I Will keep an eye out
