Her suit was bespoke, black wool trousers and a gold wool waistcoat and jacket - it cost more than my dress!

I’ve got my eye on this dress for when I get married next year. Just need to lose a few pounds and develop a waist!

Here’s mine from Monsoon. On the ‘last chance’ rail! Under £100. In real life it’s more of a pinky raspberry shade. Not yet worn it again but hope to!

Mine was a burgundy crushed velvet bias-cut slip dress from Jigsaw. One of those dresses that just fits, and makes you feel like the best version of yourself. My mum made DS and DD1 (who were toddlers at the time) a matching shirt and dress.

My mum designs wedding dresses for a living - thank heavens she wasn't offended that I didn't ask her to make my dress!

21 years later, the dress still fits me, still incredibly flattering, and I've worn it several times since. DD2 dug it out of the loft recently and put it on, and it brought tears to my eyes.

Not going to share actual wedding pics as incredibly outing, but I got married in a floor length sequinned evening gown from Phase 8.

I really, really wish that there were more / better options for women wanting to get married in a fabulous dress that isn't white/ivory/cream/blush. Certainly when I was looking, if you googled 'non-traditional wedding dress' you'd get loads of images of dresses that were tea-length, but white. I eventually realised that eveningwear was closest to what I was looking for.

Wedding anniversary today! I was 26 here in 1999 and wearing virginal white seemed ridiculous. I wanted to look like the centre of the day but also recognisably me.
The hat was a bit much but it was a red hot day.
Posh & Beckham had got married the week before and my cousins just poured over Hello magazine. Should have got a throne.

It's Droopy & Brown, gold silk @Defiantlynot41 & @londonmummy1966 wasn't their stuff amazing, still have a few waistcoats.

My dd has just worn it for Prom and nobody rumbled what it was originally bought for.

I was 50 years old and it was our 2nd marriage, 11 years ago in Autumn. My dress was dark red and I wore silver sparkly shoes. Sorry I cant get a better photo.

I never dreamed I'd walk down the aisle in a long white dress. But, the wedding got a bit bigger than I intended and it seemed easier in the end. Picked up a pre-loved dress that was someone else's dream and it really suited me. Short engagement, found the dress shopping stressful, only one dress actually fitted me, looked amazing on but I felt the style was too young for me.

I got married in this beautiful Monsoon dress, that I got for £12.50 from a charity shop! I no longer have it, but it was gorgeous and really suited me. I don't have the husband anymore either! It's what I originally wanted to get married in, and then I bought it a few years ago to wear to a LARPing event I went to. So I already have it!

Loving all the dresses ladies!! So much better than standard strapless white gowns!
