Ah, I missed the 10% sop to charity @Laska2Meryls - still, really not good enough!!

Dee1224 · 27/07/2023 08:58

I am actually quite wound up by what I am seeing as a very cynical move on Toast’s part -10% to charity should be 90% to charity!

Laska2Meryls · 27/07/2023 07:56

Planned outfit change today for my day out (stormy weather here ) so it's full-on Toast Matelot for me today with linen jumper, panelled denim jeans and Steve Mono's ..
I'll look the part on the ferry!..

Love these on you. Mine are so loose on the legs. I can’t go smaller than the S or they won’t go over my hips. Even the S requires a moment of will they/won’t they every time I go to the toilet.

Stravaig · 27/07/2023 08:59

Glad I ordered extra sofas for the sceptical curmudgeon corner 😆

ilovecherries · 27/07/2023 09:03

I nearly fell off the bed laughing at that. To be honest, I’d rather gift them directly to someone who loved the item and trust they’d pay it forward in some way.

ilovecherries · 27/07/2023 09:05

Todays outfit. Emma tee, checked lined trousers. After we got to the hotel door DD ran back up to the 6th floor and got me my ecru linen utility jacket too.

Looking lovely @ilovecherries - have a great day!

Dee1224 · 27/07/2023 09:11

Meanwhile, I am sitting on my curmudgeon corner sofa @Stravaig 🤣

@Sooverthemill - that's a shame - this is why I don't buy skirts with a fixed waist. If you like it why don't you go onto their live chat with the code (which will be on the label) and ask if they have the next size up to try. then send back the one which is too small, hold onto the one which almost fits, and try it again when the bigger one arrives? They don't mind doing that straight after a sale so long as you have the item code so long as you do it promptly. Fingers crossed for you!

@faustina thank you so much! I've just called them and one is on its way with free express delivery! I refuse to keep stuff that doesn't fir!

Dee1224 · 27/07/2023 09:19

@Countmeout - do you have the item code for the poppies sale dress? I feel like asking on chat if it’s come back after the sale as I am still peeved that it was removed from my basket at checkout!

Countmeout · 27/07/2023 09:38

@Dee1224 Here you go. Hope you’re successful.

I loved your waistcoat yesterday @ilovecherries . Was that Toast?

Letting the side down by wearing Zara linen trousers (although Jenny Garcia had them on the other day so feeling reasonably up to date) with Zara linen shirt. But I do have a Toast workwear jacket and scarf with me . And my bag.

Not impressed by the email this morning either. It’s going to be interesting to see the prices if they get any stuff to sell.

Countmeout · 27/07/2023 09:38

Oops forgot code 🤦‍♀️

Dee1224 · 27/07/2023 09:41

Thanks so much @Countmeout ! Which size did you go for?

Thank you! It wasn’t actually. It’s an old Zara one from 2/3 years ago from the men’s range. It’s a linen/cotton blend. I think they did a women’s version this year too.

clowniform · 27/07/2023 09:59

Ah I skimread that email this morning assuming I was missing some key detail. But it is just cheeky fuckery with extra pretentious sprinkles on top, then.

faustina · 27/07/2023 10:20

I suppose the only possible bright side might be that one could buy vintage toast with the ability to return if it didn't fit, which is one of the main reasons why I only rarely buy Toast from Ebay etc unless I've tried it on before?

Loving all your beautiful outfits - this non-summer is really doing my head in and I am finding it hard to get inspired

I'm also really annoyed about something that happened last night. Remember I was saying I had a pair of Saltwater sandals which I found too flat so had only worn once or twice and would ebay? Well I did, and last night the buyer wrote to me to say they were not original but fake, and also fake leather so they wanted a return label. I either bought them from Saltwater, or from Toast and they obviously aren't fake, but now I'll have to tussle with ebay customer services as I will not be sending anybody a return label. why do people do these odd time wasting things??

faustina · 27/07/2023 10:21

@Sooverthemill - sorry forgot to say - very glad it worked. I hope you can find one of them which fits you!

Snowyowl78 · 27/07/2023 10:29

@faustina thats cheeky, I would just tell them no returns and if they want they can complain to eBay. I sold something on Depop in May and nearly three months later they are trying to tell me they haven’t received it!

I definately will be interested in their second hand stuff, but it better be well reduced! Not like their renewed stuff!

clowniform · 27/07/2023 10:31

Ah true, faustina, from a prospective buyer's perspective it does appeal. Now if only someone would donate the red dress that got away in perfect condition and my size.

Sooverthemill · 27/07/2023 10:34

@faustina the trouble is ( and this is from exp) eBay will side with the buyer. It's so annoying as it will take forever too.

so I have watched the two recent 'live' but recorded and have narrowed it to 3 things I really want. Has anyone bought/ tried these? I am 5'1 so what do you think?

Toasties: Looking great for High summer and holidays
faustina · 27/07/2023 10:42

@Sooverthemill - I didn't try it, but that walnut dress is top of my list - I saw it in a shop and it's beautiful. Nikki was wearing the stripey skirt in a recent live and she's 5'4 - it looked lovely on her

What is there for Ebay to side with though? I always say no returns, have all the pics I took and they are 100% genuine, as described. It's such a pain in the arse

Sooverthemill · 27/07/2023 10:45

I absolutely agree @faustina but in my experience if a buyer is persistent eBay will tell you to refund

and I thank you for your feedback!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 27/07/2023 10:58

@faustina if you have any proof of purchase for the sandals that would help your case.

But I've also fallen foul of ebay return policy when selling a Toast dress, I just sent a return label then resold on Vinted.

Countmeout · 27/07/2023 11:01

@Dee1224 i bought a 10. I usually buy a 12 in button front due to bust, and us probably too big elsewhere but the poppies has no buttons and is fine in the 10. It’s quite generous in the hips .

faustina · 27/07/2023 11:53

@Theteapotsbrokenspout - I wish I did, but I'm fairly sure I went into Cambridge to try them on because of the odd sizing they have - eg I'm a 39, but that equates to a 7 in Saltwater. I will call ebay and see what they say!
