Going strong for more than 8 years! Full of great reviews, reports of empties and despair over our ever growing stashes!

@PomRuns - yes any mist will do really. You want a moisture ‘sandwich’ with the hylauronic acid being the filling in the sandwich.

Thank you - hopefully there’s a mist in some of the Christmas things I’ve ordered.

PomRuns · 27/11/2023 11:42

And then moisturiser on top ? Waiting a minute or 2?
I should know this … thank you !

Peridot1 · 27/11/2023 12:15

@PomRuns - yes Moisturiser on top.

witchypaws · 27/11/2023 19:19

Good few empties for me and I actually finished a lip balm!

@Peridot1 - glad you enjoyed the Purito sunscreen. I have a new fave now. Sooooo so good. It’s the Numbuzin Sun Essence No 1. (Aqua tube - they have a few sunscreens. This is lush!)

Right… now it’s confession time. Forgive me stashers for I have sinned. Big time.
DD1 has “borrowed” my cleansing oil (the last of it) and is moving out. I bought her a cleansing balm for the trip (3 day car ride. One thing less to spill.) They just happened to be BOGOF so I bought two different kinds. And a rice face pack. (Never used one before, but moisturising, brightening and soothing sounds lovely.)

And then I needed to order new shampoo… oh dear. I did just that… and a treatment mask… and treatment ampoules. All new to me. Oh, and two more cleansing balms AND a cleansing oil. Also maybe a cooling facial mist with a free refil.
Yikes. Tbf, will probably donate another cleansing balm to DD1 and one of the mists I already have, plus some sunscreen and anything else she bloody wants. DD2 is suddenly getting interested in skincare too! (DS as well. God help me!)

PomRuns · 28/11/2023 11:33

Enjoy @Fraaahnces and thank you @Peridot1

I’ve ordered lots of things too but possibly not as much as above 😊

Peridot1 · 28/11/2023 11:50

@Fraaahnces - will make a note of that sunscreen. Thanks. And I’m saying nothing about your splurge! I have been known to do the same. Although trying VERY hard not to at the moment. And it is a real effort!

CorneliaStreet · 28/11/2023 15:49

Sounds like a good haul @Fraaahnces, enjoy! I’m enjoying the Beauty of Joseon sunscreen and the Hada Labo tranexamic lotion BTW.

I bought a couple of things over Black Friday but not too bad, mainly because I had to spend a couple of nights in hospital with my daughter last week and didn’t want to buy anything on the hospital Wi-Fi!

Fraaahnces · 28/11/2023 22:41

That’s so nice to hear @CorneliaStreet. I keep thinking that enjoyment of these products is so subjective. If you have a different skin type to me or like different scents, textures or colours, I could be leading people up the garden path and spending their hard-earned money on something they don’t enjoy. Such a big responsibility sharing an opinion!

Fraaahnces · 29/11/2023 00:10

I just offloaded big-time. DD1 has been given every single sheet mask, clay masks, mini and sample of everything I have to take with her when she leaves. As well as that, her super-gullible mother decided to giver her the Pat McGrath palette that I impulse-bought last year (moonlit seduction) because a voucher was about to expire. She is thrilled and I feel better about my purchases now. Ooooh, I also gave her a new sunscreen that I know she loves. (That’s basically medicinal here.)

Experiment627 · 29/11/2023 10:16

@Fraaahnces long live consumerism & buying beauty products 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 enjoy your purchases!

I may have splurged on Revolution Beauty

What a lovely mum you are @Fraaahnces 💜💜💜

I may or may not have threatened to engrave “Call your mother” into every pan @Experiment627

Peridot1 · 29/11/2023 10:54

I’m enjoying the Hada Lobo tranexamic lotion too @Fraaahnces and @CorneliaStreet. I have the Beauty of Joseon spf in my stash also.

Nice gifts for your DD @Fraaahnces and stash clearing also. Multi tasking there for sure!

Experiment627 · 29/11/2023 15:42

LOL @Fraaahnces is she doing very far away?

Fraaahnces · 29/11/2023 18:35

@Experiment627 about 18200km (12120mi). About a 20hr drive.

Experiment627 · 29/11/2023 19:11

HOLY MOLY @Fraaahnces 😳

Peridot1 · 29/11/2023 21:29

Wow. That is far @Fraaahnces.

Fraaahnces · 29/11/2023 23:28

I forget how Aussie distance is hard to comprehend when you live in Europe or UK. We’re in Brisbane (about halfway up the East Coast.) and she’s moving to Melbourne (down the bottom of the E. coast of mainland Aus.)

FiveShelties · 30/11/2023 01:54

@Fraaahnces - I booked flights to Perth just after we moved to NZ and my husband said just tell me where you fancy going and I will put a route together. The places I had suggested would have needed a holiday of around 4 weeks with lots and lots of driving. I left the trip to him to plan - I had no idea of the distances involved.

I hope your daughter loves Melbourne, it is a fantastic place.

Fraaahnces · 30/11/2023 03:47

@FiveShelties - Perth is supposed to be the most isolated capital city in the world. Amazing place though. I was once stopped by an American tourist who had flown into Melbourne (I’m from there and would move back in a heartbeat, so agree entirely!) and wanted to get to “The Outback” and catch a flight home in three hours. He had flown there on a whim and not planned for times and distances at all. (Including the flight over). Had to burst his bubble.

Experiment627 · 30/11/2023 05:19

@Fraaahnces but who does that???
Your situation is like Neighbours in reverse.... Charlene went off to Brisbane from Melbourne 😀

OP posts:
Fraaahnces · 30/11/2023 05:41

The only explanation I could think of was “LURVE” @Experiment627. My guess is that it didn’t go to plan!
I intend to move back down south but to the mountains and have a huge tree change within the next five years.

Peridot1 · 30/11/2023 08:38

People just don’t get the size of Australia. I go to Australia most years as my best friend is in Sydney. Have other friends in Melbourne and Adelaide. Will be in Sydney and Melbourne next February. May even manage a trip to Brisbane!

Hope your DD’s move goes well.

Fraaahnces · 01/12/2023 03:28

If you do come to Brisbane it would be fun to meet up for a coffee/wine, etc @Peridot1

I thought I would give everyone a little idea about how Aussie kids think about the UK…. (Not the political, colonization bit…) When I was growing up, I couldn’t imagine how so many people fitted into the UK AND there was still room for farms, etc. I pictured everyone jammed up next to each other like standing sardines. Also couldn’t wrap my head around why you had so many cities and we didn’t. (Obviously, we don’t have the water or water sources, but again - I was a kid.) I just looked at the surface areas of Australia vs UK and entire UK would fit into Aus over 32 times. England close to 60. Just remember that most of Australia is virtually uninhabitable and we live largely on the East coast and a wee bit on the west.
