@LivingDeadGirlUK For some reason I can't get my head round the botanical repair. How exactly are you supposed to use it and for how long?

After washing and leave in. Before washing and rinse out... on wet hair and rinse out after a bit... or what.

I know it's crazy but I'm not getting it!!

After washing, leave in and dry/style your usual way. Its that easy!

Empties to report:

One Love Organics Vit C - waaay too heavy, more of a thick oil than serum. Used it for age spots on hands instead. Came in b-box, won’t reorder.
Ouai Hair Oil and Ordinary Multi-Peptide Serum - both daily essentials for turning around my peri/Hashimoto’s hair.

Mizon sheet mask - I love a good sheet mask, partially because I get to sit for 20 minutes doing nothing, guilt-free. Nice smell, very dewy afterwards. One of five in Korean beauty box.

NourishLash - HG serum. I spent 40 plus years with a total of six eyelashes, and stumpy ones at that. Slightly expensive, so I wait for their BOGO offers.

Puffypuffin · 21/11/2023 06:51

@OpheliaLibra is this lash serum really good? I've tried a couple of cheaper ones to try to get back some lovely lashes post chemo but nothing really does the job. Wondering if I need to bite the bullet and splurge!

OpheliaLibra · 21/11/2023 07:17

@Puffypuffin I tried Latisse (irritated my eyes), Clinique (horrid), and Grande Lash (worked okay-ish) prior, and this serum has made a huge difference in both amount of lashes and length - not so much in individual lash thickness, but I’m okay with that. Cons are, it’s not cheap and only available online. Hope this helps…

Experiment627 · 21/11/2023 09:14

@Peridot1 I love the idea of a jigsaw advent!

I have an empty to report:

  • Hipp Kids 2 in 1 soft & smooth all-in-one wash: not enough bubbles are hard to wash out. Not a favourite.
OP posts:
listsandbudgets · 21/11/2023 16:27

@LivingDeadGirlUK Thank you I will drag it out of whichever box it is lurking in and give it a try later this evening Smile

Peridot1 · 21/11/2023 17:13

@Experiment627 - I have to admit I’m very excited about it! And it doesn’t feel like something shouldn’t have bought as I buy a Christmas jigsaw every year anyway. My Bonne Maman jam one came today which looks lovely too.

Buster27 · 22/11/2023 14:04

Beauty Pie hyaluronic acid cream - really liked this as an evening moisturiser, would buy again.

Biossance squalane + vit c rose oil - I went from being unsure about using a face oil to lashing it on 😂 my skin had been quite dry and liked this. It was a bit too strong on the rose oil for me so probably wouldn't RP.

Ted Baker Violet and bergamot body wash - smelt like Parma violets. Fine but wouldn't buy.

Loreal hydra hyaluronic conditioner - loved this to begin with but now bored of it. This was the last conditioner in my stash, just a shampoo to go.

Beauty Pie one powder wonder - loved this and it lasted ages. I already RP'd but my toddler smashed it after a couple of uses 😪 so it won't last as long this time sadly.

Ouai detox shampoo - really liked this! Would probably buy.

Spacemasks self heating eyemask - I enjoyed this more than I expected. This came in a beauty box but I think I will probably buy myself some as a treat some time.

93/104 .. I have a few nearly finished things and masks/samples to use so should hit my target by the end of the year.

I've finished a Nivia soft 75ml tube I was using as hand cream in the office. I've so so so many hand creams and body lotions. Them and hair products are my only hoards now really (just have 1 or 2 of everything else now!).

LivingDeadGirlUK · 24/11/2023 13:08

Finished a small tube of the weirdly specific Prai upper arm cream. It seemed nice enough and did make my skin very soft, but what about the rest of my body :P

MidnightMeltdown · 24/11/2023 14:06

@LivingDeadGirlUK

I tend to find that Elasticizer still works well if you you just leave it on for a couple of minutes in the shower. I mostly use it while I'm soaking in the bath though.

wheresmyshoe · 24/11/2023 21:31

Five thing used up.

The Do Son body mist was lovely but scent didn't last and not worth the price.

Temple spa conditioner was fine as was Elemis

Davines energising shampoo was fab and I would buy again, great on fine limp hair

The Verden body moisturiser was incredibly reluctant to sink in, I ended up rubbing my legs together like a cricket!

Empties :

96) Elvive Colour Protect Shampoo - like this, it's become a regular purchase

97) Elvive Colour Protect Conditioner - as above

98) Bum Bum Cream - not bad. I'm not crazy about the overpowering scent but it's ok. Nice quality moisturiser

99) Origins eye cream - liked this

100) Anastasia Beverly Hills Mascara - ok, not a favourite. It's the kind of mascara that gives you OTT thick clumpy porn star lashes. I prefer something more natural looking

101) Whamisa Toner - had this ages. I think it came in a H&B advent. I'm terrible at remembering to use toners but it was actually quite nice

Total for the year 101/130

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 26/11/2023 11:24

I have some empties!

Huggies wipes. Staple. Love them.

Soft and gentle blossom deodorant. Terrible won’t Rp. Made my armpits stink straight from the shower. Tshirts now have the musty smell of body odour that takes ages to remove. Sadly I have 2 more to go through . Might as well use it as a fly killer.

Cocomelon bath confetti. My daughters love this. Would rp.

Cocomelon bath bubbles. Nah wouldn’t bother buying this again. Thankfully it’s the last of it.

Spa sanctuary body wash. Smells lush. Would RP.

Sure antiperspirant 96h. I loved this. It works perfectly and it didn’t make me stink. Bad point for making difficult to rub it off in the shower and when you get to the end of it it’s very difficult to get last bits out.

Avon daily shine dry ends serums. Smells great. I liked it.

Fred and Flo shampoo. Does not lather up nicely. Dows not smell good either. Won’t RP.

Rituals sakura body shower. My daughter infiltrated my shower and used it on herself. Might have to ask her her opinion on that one.

SwordBilledHummingbird · 26/11/2023 12:46

I have a few empties too:

  • Hush scented candle. I liked this but it's a bit random as they sent it to me out of the blue as a free gift! It doesn't seem to have a scent description but it smells like a wood fire, which I love for November. I would rebuy if it was available for sale.
  • The White Company Lime & Bay hand cream. Love this but don't need to rebuy yet as I'm moving onto other scents for a bit.
  • Votary Brightening Hyaluronic Acid Serum 15ml. I got this in a Liberty box and I'm not that impressed. My skin's been quite dry since using it though it could be coincidence as it tends to be dryer in winter anyway. Won't buy anyway as there are serums I prefer.
Peridot1 · 26/11/2023 13:58

A few empties here too.

Living Proof Dry Shampoo. Liked it and would repurchase but have a few others to use.

Purito SPF 50. Really liked. Recommended by @Fraaahnces. Will probably repurchase at some stage.

CeraVe moisturiser- really like this. Does what it says!

Beauty Pie serum. Not sure about it really. Not planning on replacing as have lots of other serums in stash.

Milk Make Up multi product - blusher/eyes/lips. Really like this as a blusher and have replaced with the full size.

@SwordBilledHummingbird - you possibly already did this but hylauronic serums need lots of moisture with them. So best to use with a mist. So mist - HA serum - mist again.

SwordBilledHummingbird · 26/11/2023 15:10

@Peridot1 Thanks but yes I did use a mist with it (I love Garden of Wisdom mists). I just really didn't like it!

Peridot1 · 26/11/2023 17:15

@SwordBilledHummingbird - Fair enough! I have one in my stash so will get to use it at some stage. I have to say I’m not crazy about Votary other than their cleansing oils which I do like.

PomRuns · 26/11/2023 21:12

Oh I didn’t know about the mists. Any would do?

Few empties from me:
Neals yard orange flower shampoo. Was fine. Not a rp
Superfacialist cleansing oil. Absolutely love this. Trying out another brand but think will come back to this.
Christophe Robin scalp scrub. Was awful. Could see no benefit - used as a hand scrub instead.

93/90
About 30 samples.

Some more empties:
Gorgeous body wash by Gok- I found this lurking in my mums spare room, I got a whole big set for my birthday many many years ago and never used it. I loved this it lathered up nicely and smelt amazing. Unfortunately but not unsurprisingly it's been discountinued although some people are selling them on ebay.

Molton Brown orange and bergamot hand cream- this smelt ok, didn't really moisturise my hands as much as I thought it would.

Carmex lip balm- this is a hg although I normally get the pot of it. I love the tingly feeling of it on my lips although it's probaly not good for them

Cacharel Amor amor body lotion- I loved the smell of this as the perfume is my favourite. I'm not too fussed on this body lotion though, it was very runny and took ages to sink in.

Full:21
Minis:9
Samples:1
Chuck:1
I hope to get a few more empties before Christmas.

Empties:

Weleda Sea Buckthorn body wash - 200ml. Gorgeous, citrus scent and lovely creamy consistency. Would definitely RP.

Soap & Glory Smoothie Star body scrub - 300ml. I love anything maple syrup so loved the smell of this. It is a pretty coarse scrub and you only need a little bit, so this pot lasted a good while. Boots had a 3 for 2 recently, so I’ve already got a couple of more.

Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence - 100ml. One of my favourite recent skincare discoveries. It feels so calming on the skin and I’ve really missed it whenever I haven’t taken it when going on holiday etc. Already have a back up.

Then a tiny sample of Charlotte Tilbury Supermodel Body (tinted and glittery, no thanks) and 3 perfume samples - Jo Loves Pink Vetiver (smells great but rubbish longevity), Gallivant Berlin (gorgeous, fresh but soft at the same time) and Kayali Sweet Diamond Pink Pepper. If you like spicy rose scents you’d probably like this, but it wasn’t for me. Also very strong and long lasting.

Peridot1 · 27/11/2023 09:05

@PomRuns - yes any mist will do really. You want a moisture ‘sandwich’ with the hylauronic acid being the filling in the sandwich.
