Hope you approve of the title. 😁

I have Next Cashmere - but on me, it smells like furniture polish unfortunately 😬
Today I'm wearing M&S Apothecary Warmth. Supposed to be copy of Le Labo Santal 33 but although pleasant, I will mainly use it as a room fragrance.

FestivelyScent · 29/09/2023 23:22

SOTD yesterday was Amber Absolute. It's first outing this year, as I'm fed up waiting for appropriately cool weather.

SOTN is Miss Dior Originale.

SOTD is Floral Street Neon Rose

CrimsonElevenDelightPetrichor · 30/09/2023 10:01

I know what you mean @FestivelyScent . I got my autumnal scents out a few weeks ago and they're not right for the weather. It's very discombobulating.

FestivelyScent · 30/09/2023 23:44

SOTN is Samsara. Usually I'd have packed this summer staple away by now. It really does feel weird it being so warm so late in the year.

SOTD: molecule 1 + mandarin. Bought myself a 4160 Tuesdays taster set as a payday present to self so that should be fun :)

FestivelyScent · 02/10/2023 16:01

SOTD yesterday was Amber Absolute. Will choose for today later.

SOTD Carolina Herrera - Good Girl Legere

I'm not sure that I'm liking wearing this in Autumn/Winter as it smells completely different on me compared to when I wear it in the Spring/Summer

In S/S it smells ambery woody floral on me all day yet in A/W it smells more very heavy vanilla & metallic as the day goes on.

It was like this last year & I thought it was just me or the bottle had gone off. However come S/S months it smelt normal again yet now back to A/W it smells a bit nauseating again.

FestivelyScent · 03/10/2023 23:00

You're so right @TracyBeakerSoYeah It's seems strange how temperature and season can effect perfume so much, but just like you, some things I love in winter smell awful on me in summer and vice versa. It means I keep samples and bottles I don't initially like to try in another time, because I've often surprised myself by liking something in a later season.

SOTN is Spellbound. Talking of seasons, I couldn't believe when the weather man said we'd see 25° in London this weekend. Maybe even 26°! Last year's summer might have been horrendously hot, but at least it had the decency to end in August, and then Sept and Oct were properly autumnal. This year's autumn just feels like an extension of the summer we didn't have.

Sotd was Kenzo Reve Lotus. A delightful delicate powdery smell.

SOTD 4160Tuesdays SSOTPE.

I had samples of Prada Infusion d'Oeillet and Molecule 01 delivered yesterday so I need to try them out soon!

FestivelyScent · 05/10/2023 23:40

I have samples coming too!

Bois Mysterieux (spicy, myrrh-y oriental)
Ambre Eccentrico (plummy amber)
By the Fireplace (the MM one, as I remember it being warmer than the pp version I currently have and want to test if I prefer the real thing. I somehow think I will)

Then I've got mini decants of my autumn favourites:
Mitsouko
L'heure Bleue

Then, from PP
Labdanum 18
Gucci Gucci EDP (which I think you recommended @Buffy8 and I am very much looking forward to - the notes look so promising)

SOTN is Spellbound, which has finally found it's place in my life as an autumn scent.

@Jackydaytona I pm'd you re: pirate queen

Cannotthinkofanametoday · 06/10/2023 09:56

Hello Ladies, may I join you?
My SOTD is Chanel No. 19, I have been wearing it on and off since I was 19 ( son early 40 years !!!)
I bought the Ffern Autumn 23 fragrance, tried the sample, thought I liked it and now I don’t, plus it really does not last. No 19 nearly finished and I really want a good vanillary scent for the autumn/winter. I may pop into Boots today to have a sniff and find something.

CrimsonElevenDelightPetrichor · 06/10/2023 16:25

SOTD is MH Powdered Veil. Pleasant, inoffensive. I'm really struggling with the unseasonable weather; most of my perfumes are better when it's cooler.

Deathraystare · 06/10/2023 19:25

SOTD Back to Hypnotic poison. I seem to have two bottles. Obvs forgot I had one and bought another! I had SJP Lovely on yesterday and colleague commented her daughter always wear it all the time (think she is sick of it!).

Deathraystare · 06/10/2023 19:32

@FestivelyScent
Love Mitsouko
L'heure Bleu
and Spellbound!

Haven't got Spellbound at the moment but it is an old favourite of mine!

FestivelyScent · 06/10/2023 23:33

Welcome to the thread @Cannotthinkofanametoday 👋😊 I love No19, too! Happy sniffing in Boots!

@Deathraystare 🙌 Looks like we share similar autumn fragrance taste. Am glad to have found someone who likes Spellbound too - nobody around me has even heard of it! Whenever I mention it I just get blank looks in return! It just fits perfectly with autumn for me.

I'm struggling with this weird unseasonable weather too @CrimsonElevenDelightPetrichor whatever I choose ends up feeling all wrong.

SOTN is Amber Absolute.

Hi @Cannotthinkofanametoday

@FestivelyScent & @Deathraystare L'Heure Blu is an old favourite of mine, reminds myself to buy some more.

SOTD & E has been Clarins Eau Dynamisante mainly due to something keeping me fresh & cool through 3 hours of dance & song practise for the pantomime I'm in.
I feel like I've done 3 sessions of aerobics back to back tonight!

cuthbertthecat · 07/10/2023 08:26

Would I be able to ask some advice pls. My mum is not much of a perfume wearer but on holiday was having a good sniff in Duty Free and made comments about how her best mate always has a spray of scent so why doesn't she. I was thinking I might get her a small bottle of something for Christmas.

She likes lily of the valley type smells - not too sweet or heavy floral though.

Ideally I'd like something with an unusual/heritage brand and not too spendy (she may not wear it).

Any ideas?

Magpiecomplex · 07/10/2023 18:22

SOTD 4160Tuesdays The Orange Tree. Compromise between summer temperatures and wanting to feel slightly autumnal.
