Looks like we ran out of space - welcome to a shiny new thread! (the 36th edition!)

Hope you approve of the title. 😁

As always, everyone is very welcome - we're most definitely open to Newbies. Come and discuss your Scent Of The Day (SOTD), old favourites, new infatuations, the best dupes and scents of any price point. We are very friendly! 😊

Cool Water today. I'm hoping the weather might take a hint from the word "cool"!

FestivelyScent · 09/09/2023 23:13

I am so annoyed about this dreadful, oppressive heat too @Jackydaytona I feel so cheated! We had not one single heatwave this summer - I was so happy! In fact, I was only having a cheerful conversation about it at the beginning of Sept, and then this comes along. I guess that makes it my fault. Pfft.

SOTN is Coromandel. I know this is a winter jumper fragrance, but I saw the sample looking at me from its box and couldn't resist. It's so smooth and gorgeous. A true, old fashioned oriental! They are so hard to come by. I just know it will smell fabulous in the cool crisp air, when the weather finally turns.

I'm not keen on hot weather either, one of the reasons I'm glad we moved to Ireland, but it's been an oppressive 29 degrees here Confused I've been wearing MH Rose Silence for a couple of days, it's gorgeous in the heat.

SOTD was Soft Iris from M&S
SOTE 4160T Standing Stones, so mossy, mysterious and cooling

ThreeImaginaryBoys · 10/09/2023 10:24

SOTD is Agent Provocateur. I haven't worn it for years but saw a huge bottle on offer. Still can't decide if I like it or not.

I think I'm just biding my time waiting for Autumn and the ambers to come out to play!

Me too!

I gave my AP to my mum...too floral/powdery for me

SOTD a blast from the past, CK Eternity

CorneliaStreet · 10/09/2023 18:32

SOTD was M&S White Coconut, SOTE is Mon Guerlain. I’m almost out of this, need to put a big bottle on my Christmas list.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 10/09/2023 19:37

SOTD Clarins Eau Dynamisante in this hot humid weather.

Popped in the local village shop last night & this woman in front of me at the till smelt lovely!
I asked her what she was wearing & she said it was Dior Savage & that it was originally her DH's but he didn't like it on him.

Hi I used to join the Perfumista threads a few years ago but had to drop out while I had 'stuff' going on. I think I'm ready to rejoin, if you don't mind.
I had put away my unused hot weather perfumes last week, but got Ealing Green (4160 Tuesdays) out again for the weekend. It's lovely and fresh in this heat. My other heatwave favourite is L'eau d'Issey, sad I didn't get a chance to wear it this year.

Welcome back to the threads @CrimsonElevenDelightPetrichor I love the smell of petrichor! It's one of my breathe-it-in-deep-and-smile happy smells!

Eau Sauvage is gorgeous @TracyBeakerSoYeah and very unisex with its chypre-y undertones.

SOTN is Samsara. I have done nothing all day, and I'm so fed up. The flat here hit 30° indoors, and all I could think was - that's the temp you wash wool jumpers at. I feel all woolly in this heat.

OP posts:
TracyBeakerSoYeah · 10/09/2023 23:28

I know exactly what you mean about woolly steamy weather @FestivelyScent

Will have to try Savage next time I'm in town.

And hello @CrimsonElevenDelightPetrichor
I'm guessing from your name that you like that after rain on the pavement smell & possibly car tyres/petrol smell too? Just like me.

Deathraystare · 11/09/2023 14:57

I am wearing a Burberry perfume but not sure which. It has a beige check jacket on it. It is stuck down so cannot tell.

Just looked it up on Amazon. Burberry London for Women or something! Lighter than stuff i normally wear but as it is hot I thought I would go for something lighter.

I am so hot at the moment. It is so hot in my room that I actually went to work 2 hours earlier than I should have cos they have a/c!

Very nice fruity Amber

Cannot wait until I can wear my spicy bets again...come on autumn! 🎃

Magpiecomplex · 11/09/2023 17:17

Histoires de Parfum 1725 today.

FestivelyScent · 11/09/2023 23:12

I can't wait to get out my a/w smells either @Jackydaytona They are looking at me from their box.

SOTN is Ambre Orient. If you are currently experiencing the fabled cool breeze mentioned in the weather report this evening, please send some of it this way!

It's a bit cooler here, but I'm still soooo hot 🔥 🥵

Just makes me feel awful 😖

SOTN is Samsara.

SOTD is Floral Street's Electric Rhubarb - a sparkly floral slightly fruity/zingy scent that works well in this clammy thunder & lightning rainy weather that we've had here for the last 2 days

Jackydaytona · 13/09/2023 15:39

Sotd 4160tuesdays oh Canada! (A mod made for the Canadian tourist board...)
Bloody lovely 😍 Whiskey, maple syrup...yum yum 😋

DramaAlpaca · 13/09/2023 18:48

@Jackydaytona I wasn't too sure about Oh Canada, but everyone seems to rave about it. Instead I went for Standing Stones because I love Waft From the Loft, Lemon Bloom and another one whose name I've forgotten. Luckily for blind buys I like them all.

I did wonder about lemon bloom but I limited myself to one which I'm regretting now...

FestivelyScent · 13/09/2023 22:43

SOTN is Miss Dior Originale.
