Hope you approve of the title. 😁

As always, everyone is very welcome - we're most definitely open to Newbies. Come and discuss your Scent Of The Day (SOTD), old favourites, new infatuations, the best dupes and scents of any price point. We are very friendly! 😊

SOTD Golden Decade - ZARA , one of my favorites from Z.

dollymixedup · 27/08/2023 21:53

Perfume novice here, I have agreed to buy goddaughter miss Dior for her 18th. Eau de parfum or eau de toilette? And are the body washes etc worth it? Am prepared to spend £150

It's usually a given that layering products are most effective, so I'd go for edt and body wash/lotion

What a lovely godmother you are 😃

FestivelyScent · 27/08/2023 23:24

SOTN is Samsara.

SOTD Escentric 01.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 28/08/2023 02:28

SOTD is Clarins Eau Dynamisante

@DramaAlpaca if you like tangy, salty, marine, lemony, woody, nuzzly unisex fragrances then you'll like Ego Stratis
It makes me think of lying in the arms of my partner on an isolated sandy beach late afternoon/early evening with the tide bringing the sea in, with a few cedar, birch & juniper trees in the background with bizarrely a few deer running through the trees.
(My vivid imagination)

If you also like Tom Daxon's Iridium, FK's Gentle Fluidity Silver & Baccarat Rouge, Eau Dynamisante & Kierin NYC Santal Sky & The Body Shop's Balkan Juniper bath/shower gel then you will definitely like Ego Stratis

SOTD Touch of Woman - La Rive (Fragrantica perfume site says watered down version of Black Opium)

BecauseWeCanCanCan · 28/08/2023 14:11

SOTD Versace Crystal Noir: This is always hyped, and it is nice - it's amber and floral, it's really wearable. A little bit generic though

Perfume Parlour have a new website. It looks a bit glitzy and reminds me of the Sephora website (I think I mean Sephora). Anyway, once you transfer your account over to the new site (a couple of clicks from an email they've sent) you get 10% off your next order. I may partake.

SOTN is Ambre Orient. I need another bottle of this, for one thing.

SOTN - BDK Gris Charnel. Absolutely lush perfume, and really lasts - it's got an unusual accent as well, although it's my usual type with amber undertones, but it's got a cool note of tea in it I think. Love it.

FestivelyScent · 30/08/2023 00:05

SOTD today was Dancing with Strangers, for a trip into London, and then to the Docklands. Had a lovely time. The journey into town was a nightmare, but the journey home was probably the smoothest train journey I've made this year. Definitely a trip of two halves.

Also, the Elizabeth line is great! So modern and shiny and clean and quick. AND fully accessible! (which feels like a miracle, although it shouldn't) Can you tell today was my first time using it?

SOTD is Gris Dior by Dior. This is a lovely perfume - smells very luxurious and expensive, really nice and subtle.

TakeYourHatOffBoy · 30/08/2023 11:20

There you all are! Have been scentless for a while as this blasted covid has really taken the edge off my sense of smell but I think we're back on track now. Still got a constantly scratchy throat and feel utterly knackered though...

Anyway, SOTD is Clinique Aromatics in White. Rose, patchouli and amber. I bought this at a duty free on the way to Spain a few years ago and it was not really right for 30+ degrees, but as the weather turns a little cooler here on the Kent coast it's coming into its own.

I always think of Clinique and Clarins as skincare brands first and foremost, but I have a soft spot for so many of their scents - the Aromatics range, the Clarins Eaux (Dynamisante was my 'gateway' perfume really), Clarins Par Amour, Wrappings. All excellent, underrated perfumes imo, and usually reasonably priced!

Jackydaytona · 30/08/2023 11:20

Sotd 4160tuesdays complicated Shadows

TheClitterati · 30/08/2023 17:26

SOTD is one of my favs I save up for autumn - 4160 - Up The Apple and Pairs.

Although its not technically autumn yet it is quite cool here the last few days (too cold to wear sandals now) and so I treated myself. I love how this scent lasts all day and also changes so much throughout the day - its a journey day trip in a bottle.

TheClitterati · 30/08/2023 17:27

@TakeYourHatOffBoy Kent coast? Have you been to this very lovely perfume shop? Its worth a vist if you are in the area

SOTD is D.R.Harris Twenty Nine, which is a spicy rose and feels just right for the weather at the moment. It's a cologne though so doesn't last long

Ooooh could you describe this one please?

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 30/08/2023 23:49

SOTD Byredo Bibliotheque - it’s autumn now.

Alazne58 · 31/08/2023 08:26

SOTD Lightly Bloom - ZARA

LadyOfTheCanyon · 31/08/2023 11:27

Was in Liberty yesterday and tried the new Frederic Malle 'Heaven can wait.' It's very clove heavy - which I usually like but prefer when it's counteracted with a citrus. On my skin was quite one note. It's not for me.

However - tried Les Soeurs de Noe 'Bohemian Absinthe' on my other wrist and oh my days - what a beauty! The eucalyptus top note is almost minty. Couldn't stop sniffing myself!

BecauseWeCanCanCan · 31/08/2023 11:51

SOTD is Ambre Eccentrico by Armani Prive. This is very heavy on the amber, not sure I could wear this. And bizarrely, the initial spray gave me a super strong whiff of chlorine. A surprising miss from me.

TakeYourHatOffBoy · 31/08/2023 13:04

Bohemian Absinthe sounds very interesting, @LadyOfTheCanyon. I've never even heard of that house before? Love Liberty and really need a visit. It's my happy place.

No SOTD yet as I'm actually awaiting a big old delivery from Liberty containing a full bottle of Dear Polly and some other goodies! Just hoping dh goes out before it arrives... 😆

TakeYourHatOffBoy · 31/08/2023 13:06

@TheClitterati I meant to say, no not visited there yet. I'm a bit further north from Folkestone but dh and I keep saying we need to have a day there so will try and check it out!

TheClitterati · 31/08/2023 14:08

I also like the sound of Bohemian Absinthe - I will make a note to try that next time I am in London.

SOTD is Folkestone Green - I'm sticking local today. This one has been on high rotation since I bought it.

@TakeYourHatOffBoy Folkestone is a great day out with lots of public art, beaches, harbour, good food & drink and lots of indie shops. Come on a sunny day for the best time.
