Holiday clothes

Hopefully going on a ‘hot’ holiday this summer and will need to pretty much start from scratch for a capsule wardrobe, as all I’ve got in my existing wardrobe are one very light cotton’wafting’ dress and a couple of well loved very soft cotton shirts.

I’m small and a bit round these days - size 14.

I like the look of Arket linen shorts and trousers, so will go and try those on.

I mainly like black and white in the summer. Any ideas for what I should be looking for? Arket prices are as high as I’m willing to go.

Beachwear is a very good shout I think. Whenever I've had very thin soft shirts/dresses they've been from beach sections.

All from h&m & in cotton.
I've tried to exclude the cotton ones with a polyester lining. Just why?

The simple black sundress looks lovely with the little shoulder ties on my DD.

My thinnest cotton beach/holiday dresses have been from Monsoon, H&M and those little shops you find when on holiday.

I need to stop searching for you as I now own this for my holiday that I don’t need and it too short for your needs @RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie 🤦🏻‍♀️

I've found Melissa odabash kaftans & I put a vastly reduced Stella forest kaftan in my TK Maxx basket, whereupon they instantly sold out. I'm going to Phuket this summer & I've decided I urgently need a white lace kaftan🤦🏼‍♀️

Hi OP, I know it's not what you want, but thought it was worth mentioning this vintage Per Una skirt ( example below currently on eBay - I'm not the seller!) . It's fabulous, and I wish Per Una still did such great skirts.

I spend half my year in a very hot climate, and I have several of these in a couple of sizes., pick them up on eBay whenever I see them. It is my absolute go to on really hot days when I would struggle. It is extremely light Indian cotton (lined), weighs virtually nothing and you could wear tops in several colours with it.

It's got some nice designer touches if you look at the details, sequins, embroidery and sort of patches of raised knots of the fabric.

I got sandals, two swimsuits, a linen shirt, two dresses and beach trousers all under £100.

Ooo I like those. Shame I don't have legs like hers though. Mine are like upside down milk bottles.

I've got good legs just need to shift some gut.

I will be pinching some of these finds as a middle age, round, size 14 , milk bottle legs myself . I have not heard of Arket before and love the Accessorize black dress
