Holiday Princessing Thread - who’s in?

Anyone up for a summer holiday princess thread? (Apologies if there’s already one, I did have a look and couldn’t see any)

I’m on countdown to holiday in the South of France at the end of July, and have never been so out of shape and lacking in style in my life, so desperately need to get on it. Really don’t want to be the one hiding under a towel at the pool/beach AGAIN!

I’m 45, have 1.5 stone to lose, and want to cut down the alcohol, sugar and coffee, as also want my skin to look better (suffer from regular spots, as well as peri menopausal dryness and redness - yay!)
Other stuff to do: take vitamins/cod liver oil every day / apply lash serum every day.

I began exercise yesterday, with 30 Day Shred session (always worked for me in the past) and dog walk. Today have done a 1 hour PT session.

Anyone else want to begin now, and have a bit of support?

I think it's really hard to give up everything you love - loads of social activities in Britain revolve around eating and drinking. I'm finding that cutting out sugar and 'empty' carbs is curbing my appetite but I miss chocolate. I do let myself have a little bit of very dark choc and today I've had a couple of glasses of wine because of you cut everything out all at once, it's hard to stay on track.
I'm very disheartened by my lack of weight loss though.

Aims for next week are to up the exercise and try to reduce artificial sweeteners - they've been riding me over but they taste really claggy!

Hope you are all doing well.

Argh! Feeling so demotivated at the moment. I have been walking at least 5k everyday, IMF and eating healthy for 3 weeks now (plus I too had a stomach bug) and absolutely no difference on the scale whatsoever!! So hard to keep going when there’s zero results!! BUT, I’m sure even if we don’t all feel it yet, there are changes happening and if nothing else, our bodies are getting healthier and each day! Just over 4 weeks l left for me before “B” (beach) day!!

What's even more irritating is that dh can go on a diet for a couple of weeks and lose half a stone!

Any tips for surviving high 30s temps while away? It was quite warm on the camping trip we just took and it was only low 20s.

I've got a lovely glow to my face now but I've tanned loads on my arms and not a lot anywhere else.

Its back on the diet now but I want to incorporate some core workouts too.

Ugh it's infuriating! Same here

@LivingDeadGirlUK hope you survive ok on holiday... I don't think I could cope any more with those temperatures! I wear sandals as much as I can and my feet tend to end up with a much better tan than the rest of me Confused

@OrangeSpicedBun my DP can also lose weight quickly (but then he is around 22 stone!), but he's always baffled when he doesn't lose anything after 'a few drinks' - for which read loads of rum & Coke, a few pints of lager, a couple of glasses of wine...!

@Wishona I may be a bit late with this one but I just use the Palmers cocoa butter fake tan - I'm very pale, just use it after shaving my legs every 2/ 3 days and it keeps my legs looking less pasty slightly tanned. Also you can scrub it off if you make a mistake Grin
