Holiday Princessing Thread - who’s in?

Anyone up for a summer holiday princess thread? (Apologies if there’s already one, I did have a look and couldn’t see any)

I’m on countdown to holiday in the South of France at the end of July, and have never been so out of shape and lacking in style in my life, so desperately need to get on it. Really don’t want to be the one hiding under a towel at the pool/beach AGAIN!

I’m 45, have 1.5 stone to lose, and want to cut down the alcohol, sugar and coffee, as also want my skin to look better (suffer from regular spots, as well as peri menopausal dryness and redness - yay!)
Other stuff to do: take vitamins/cod liver oil every day / apply lash serum every day.

I began exercise yesterday, with 30 Day Shred session (always worked for me in the past) and dog walk. Today have done a 1 hour PT session.

Anyone else want to begin now, and have a bit of support?

Just checking in...I've been intermittent fasting this week and have lost five pounds. I'm pretty pleased with that and am going to up my exercise next week.

others plans are to see dental hygienist and get my hair done. Will get hair done closer to my holiday. Might get some blonde highlights!

Yup, definitely in, I’d like to wear sandals this summer and bare my legs without feeling like Shrek (haven’t shaved, exfoliated or moisturised, not drinking enough water, living on break at the moment!) Thanks op!!

I'm in.
I have a med cruise and a few days in Venice at the end of June

I'm going to start with
Take my medication every day Inc a multi vit. I've been particularly uncompliant lately
Exfoliate twice a week, moisturise after every shower, moving towards gradual tan products as I am more likely to have arms and legs out. Paint nails and keep them nice.
Skincare, weekly scrub, daily cleanse, hyaluronic, moisturise and use my retinol night cream. SPF
8 glasses of water starting with a large glass before breakfast
Get a contact lens review, I've only worn glasses since covid

I'm looking for a new holiday style, some of my holiday wardrobe is properly ancient.
As I'll be doing a lot of sightseeing I would like some olive green shorts, a really good white Tshirt and vest, some new soft tan leather sandals that are comfortable to walk around in, plus some white trainers.
I have some decent big shirts and linen tops bought last year but would like some more linen trousers or maybe a jump suit. And a straw hat that I can somehow compress in my case without crushing it. Recommendations welcome.

I started princessing about 5 weeks ago as I go to Tenerife next weekend.

I had a baby in August last year and had 8lbs to lose to take me back to my pre pregnancy weight (which I needed to lose anyway so was glad for the motivation) I started doing the 16:8 fasting and brisk walking for an hour and a half with the pram and dog every day. And it’s (almost) worked, I weighed myself a couple of days ago and I’ve lost 6lbs but I came on yesterday and always weigh more just before I’m on so I’m hoping it’s more like 8lbs and I’ll continue the fasting and brisk walking everyday next week and hopefully can lose a bit more.

I also tried on all my usual summer clothes and dresses last week to see what I did and didn’t fit into and what I needed to buy and pleased to say I fit into all of them which saved my wallet, woohoo.

As smug as this post sounds, it’s really to illustrate that fasting really works and 16:8 is really easy to do. I basically stop eating at 7pm in the evening and then only drink water or black tea until 11am the next day. In my eating window between 11am-7pm I eat what I want. In fact I’ve eaten so much chocolate lately i’m surprised I’ve lost weight 😳 but I love the 16:8 as it doesn’t feel like dieting, but it works!

Other than that I’ve been deep conditioning my hair and using different treatments each week and it’s looking in better shape now too.

I’m paler than a paley thing but don’t think I can be bothered with fake tan before I go out. Other pool siders and beach goers will just have to put up with my milk bottle legs for a few days until I (hopefully) tan 😬

I’m doing well
I have 4 creams I’ve nearly used up. I’ll list them when I do to keep going.
Ive tried using some The Ordinary Squalene oil in my hair to use that up, and it’s made it smooth.

I’m going to moisturise everywhere now, not just my limbs

I did forget my vitamin. Need to find a way to remember. Might put them by the kettle.

I find intermittent fasting really works for me. When I do eat in my window of time, I have pretty much what I want within reason.

On another note, I want nice feet for holiday, last night I smothered my feet in moisturizer and tied Sandwich bags around them and went to sleep! Feet feel better today

I'm in! Holiday in August and I've started a good fitness regime which I just need to focus on, but want to feel a bit more glam with it! Will post my list later when I've thought properly.

Decleor sweet orange sleep mask on my arms tonight. Meant to be using things up but this smells lovely…will keep it on my arms not legs so I can sniff it 😆

Morning everyone. Hope Monday is kind 😂

I ate bit too much rubbish yesterday, but OK, let's blame it on Sunday. Saturday was good. Off to fresh start today.

What I've done:
-manicure
-legs hair removed
-face mask on Saturday morning
-bronzing lotion on arms and legs

I need to do pedicure now. I didn't do any workout since Friday, but we went shopping and for a walk, and I cleaned the house, so did quite a lot of steps.

@Wishona regarding the St Tropez in shower tan, mainly used it on my legs, as I never tan there. I could see a difference after about 2 applications on consecutive days.

@Eweanlamb and @Comedycook very interested to hear more about the fasting!
@Comedycook did you really lose 5lb in just a week???? Am def getting on it!
Thought I’d done quite well on both food and exercise last week (apart from Sunday, had pizza and 3 JD and Coke, crisps etc), however weighed myself this morning, and have maybe only lost 5lb, if that!

More drastic action needed this week, so fasting may be the way forward!

Kids are back tomorrow so I'm straight off to the park after drop off for a power walk.

Yes @tigerbear I was pretty pleased with that amount though I suspect weight loss will slow down a bit now

During the time window I eat what I want within reason....I don't pig out and eat loads chocolate or cake which is what I really really want! I try to be sensible but don't count calories. I try to keep carbs lowish but am not zero carb.

It’s quite satisfying using up stuff, isn’t it!
I was the same with Weleda skin food, just thought it was a bit ‘meh’

Re vitamins/supplements, I’ve started taking cod liver oil and marine collagen capsules, and my nails are looking better.

Yesterday:
-workout done
-decent diet (not cutting calories due to PG, just staying within limits)
-bronzing lotion
-skincare as always

Today I only have time to do 20 minutes of workout, as I'm busy in the evening. Maintaining healthy meal plan though.

Morning, hope everyone's doing well

I ate McDonald's for tea yesterday😂But workout done and tanning lotion too!

Today I will also do +- 30 min workout, pedicure and body scrub are on the list for this week too. Skincare as always, I follow the same routine that I love. Oh and I bought nails and cuticles oil that I need to start using. Booked my holiday mani and pedi and hairdresser to do the roots and refresh blonde.

I have noticed how much difference it makes when I brush my hair while drying. They look like proper mess if dried in the rush. They're just clean, but not nice.

That's so sad.....you should have gone! Life is too short to not spend time in the sun with your family!

My smear was fine. She commented on how relaxed I was…maybe the legs helped 🤣

I’m sticking to my targets. I’ve also finished off Decleor comforting body milk. This had a lovely texture, but smelt a bit strong.

Waxing tonight, then I’ll re tan tomorrow or the next day.

Exercise I can’t do tonight because of the waxing, I did 2 hours yesterday and the day before though.

Im thinking of getting a toner for my hair, I had some lighter bits at the end and I’m not sure I like them…hairdresser not till the end of May so I might do this myself.

What collagen does everyone take? @tigerbear @LivingDeadGirlUK

Agree. I'm trying to lose weight for my holiday but that's because it will make me feel better. I always say when you're on the beach, there will always be someone fatter than you and always be someone slimmer than you.
