Holiday Princessing Thread - who’s in?

Anyone up for a summer holiday princess thread? (Apologies if there’s already one, I did have a look and couldn’t see any)

I’m on countdown to holiday in the South of France at the end of July, and have never been so out of shape and lacking in style in my life, so desperately need to get on it. Really don’t want to be the one hiding under a towel at the pool/beach AGAIN!

I’m 45, have 1.5 stone to lose, and want to cut down the alcohol, sugar and coffee, as also want my skin to look better (suffer from regular spots, as well as peri menopausal dryness and redness - yay!)
Other stuff to do: take vitamins/cod liver oil every day / apply lash serum every day.

I began exercise yesterday, with 30 Day Shred session (always worked for me in the past) and dog walk. Today have done a 1 hour PT session.

Anyone else want to begin now, and have a bit of support?

got about the same to lose then.
Stupidly went food shopping last night when I was hungry, and succumbed to buying a big bar of Galaxy. But pleased with myself - opened it earlier, had a few pieces, and managed to put it back in the fridge before having the lot 👍

Managed to loose 1/2 lb this week, no clue how. Will probably have put it back on by next week. Would love to loose a stone and a half by holidays but not sure if I can do it I love food too much lol.

Really need to start moisturising after each shower as my skin is so dry, im just too lazy to do it. Im also aiming to shave my legs once a week now that Summer is nearly here. I need a new razor any recommendations? Blades are so expensive.

So, keeping up with supplements, and have used up a few bottles of older toiletries.

But, have seriously rough hands from gardening and washing up. I'm using hand cream, but it's not helping. What can I do??

@Minnie123456 I use an epilator for my legs. Not gonna lie, it hurts until you get used to it, but it's so much better than shaving because you don't have to do it so often and new growth isn't so bristly.

How is everyone doing?
Exercise wise, I’m still doing quite well, but weight loss slowed a bit.
I’ve been comfort eating and drinking this week, as feel stressed (selling my house, and there’s nothing on the market I love to buy ).

I'm doing okay food wise - have massively cut down on sugar and empty carbs but I swear my HRT is either causing weight gain or stopping me from losing it. I know everyone swears it doesn't but...
Am giving up alcohol for a while too in the hope of knocking a few lbs off before summer!

Just bought a couple of davinia Taylor books on balancing hormones and how to listen to our bodies and break bad habits.

Did alsobuy myself some new gold hoop earrings today to cheer myself up

Can I join! I'm going to Mallorca in August. Wfh, wine and crisps at 5pm and menopause are not doing me any favours. Am doing a weekly zoom exercise class already. Plan to add in a weekly swim and/ or another class and some sit ups. My core strength has completely gone. Any tips on good fake tans are welcome as my legs have not seen the sun in years! I think I might swap gin for wine, or is that going to make no difference? Maybe just have a drink as a weekend treat and avoid the crips completely. I'll start eating more fruit and salad and try and remember to drink water and not just espressos in the day.

Well, am mostly remembering to moisturise my legs every day, they certainly look less scaly!

Taking the supplements and keeping up with the Couch to 5K. Do feel like I've got more energy.

This weekend will be the time to open my new pot of day cream rock and roll

I’m off on holiday today and for once have actually managed to achieve some of my goals!
I’ve lost 5 pounds and tummy and jowls/chin looking much leaner. I had thought that HRT would make this impossible but I weigh the same now as when I got married.
I’m gel toed - a lovely shell white colour.
Hair is freshly coloured - highlights lowlights.
Muscle tone is good - been doing daily workout for around the last 4 months - mainly barre with weights,Pilates and yoga.
I’ve treated myself to some lovely things to use on holiday - bum bum cream jet set and a gorgeous bottle of Light Blue Intense.
Very excited to get on that plane!

Ooh I’d like to join! Not going on holiday but I’ve just finished cancer treatment and have a 13 month old DD that was born via c section only a couple of months before I found out so I look and feel like a total wreck 🤦🏼‍♀️ eyelashes are back, hair is just starting to grow back 💪🏻 now I want to get my fitness back and feel a little bit more like me.

I’m managing all my targets, which were on top of other things I do.
Vitamin
Flexitol feet
Moisturise limbs
Take a vitamin

Im also managing to fake tan

We don’t have a holiday booked either apart from a festival, for me it’s just building routines ready for more visible skin!

I don’t need to lose weight but I’ve had sushi a lot for lunch recently and have dropped a few extra pounds.

I haven’t applied it yet but it smells incredible - I just wanted a little treat to take away as my usual Neom body lotion is in a huge bottle.

Great thread! I have a special holiday in August & sound very similar to you OP, peri has changed my body shape & I cant get away with eating, drinking whatever i want anymore. None of my clothes fit as I’m in between sizes. I’d like to buy some nice clothes for my holiday but need to lose a few pounds first! I’m going to read through the thread for some inspiration. Just hope I have enough time to make a difference?!

I like Bondi Sands mousse in light.
Apply with a mit.
I honestly find it easier than everyday tans as you can see where it’s going.
This one doesn’t smell and is a nice colour.
It stains bedding really badly, (but washes out)!

I was/am(?) naturally slim my whole life. Used to eat whatever I wanted.
I really don’t seem to need many calories now at all, I’ve adjusted what I eat accordingly. Not a diet as such I just stop eating as soon as I’m full and don’t have seconds of things.

Managed to loose just over 2lbs last week but I had a stomach bug so wasn't really eating alot. I also skipped my vitamins last week as I was afraid of them making me sick.

Have my nails booked for just before my holiday so really need to start using my nail oil to strengthen them.

yup, I definitely can’t eat what I want anymore!
After doing pretty well, and losing half a stone, I’ve absolutely fallen off the wagon.
Been comfort eating for the last week, and just been away for a few days, and ate total rubbish - sweets and crisps in the car, donuts, pasta, pizza, crepes, big breakfast, cocktails, you name it!!

Unsurprisingly, have put 4lb back on, and am so upset with myself.
I’m really in the ‘danger zone’ now, with only 7 weeks to go until holiday. 😔
I think an ‘all or nothing’ approach is now the only way, eg intermittent fasting, zero sugar, low carb, no alcohol etc
