Good quality crossbody bag up to £800.00

It's a handbag thread! My favourite crossbody bag has finally worked itself to the ground and I'm looking for a replacement one if anyone has any recommendations!

What I'm replacing is a medium sized square brown leather bag which had two internal pockets, a small pocket on the outside and on the back an extra pocket that zipped open all the way and had space for cards, pens and bits of paper. I've never really seen anything that has matched, I have no idea of the brand it was brought in a vintage shop in my mid 20's (quite some years ago)! It was fairly small but seemed to fit everything inside it and more! What I'm describing is probably looking a camera bag with extra compartments.

It was one of my favourite things so am willing to spend up to £800.00 to replace it as it's going to be used quite a bit. I would prefer brown or oxblood but am open to some nice others like burnt orange etc, the only ones I can't have are navy or black as that's my main clothing palette!

@MoveOnTheCards I want the Tonca too & love it in the taupe colour for summer. I'm seriously contemplating it now. Settling on the colour is the hardest part!

I love those Polene bags but think they’re not quite big enough for me, but tempting!

I'm also hankering after a Polene bag (have my eye on the numero un mini) so will look forward to your update @gentlydirk.

Love this thread. I have two Chanels (a reissue and a boy) and they have appreciated in value since I've bought them. Even if they didn't, I wouldn't care as they're beautiful, I can afford them and they bring me joy.

Good choice OP. I don't understand the love for Mulberry - Polene look far more stylish

You should be fine ,their sample sales are usually well organized with plenty of stock replenishment during the day. The worst ones are Arlettie's and The Music Room🙄...unfortunately they also host the best designers😉

Sorry your favourite bit the dust — sounds like you want a structured leather camera-style crossbody with lots of pockets (including a zip back).
Check Coach (camera bags in brown/oxblood), Mulberry (small messenger/mini styles in chestnut/oxblood), and higher-end or pre-owned Chloé/Céline camera bags if you want to spend up to £800; also search vintage/etsy and “camera bag leather crossbody” filters to find the exact pocket layout (look for “zip back pocket”, internal dividers and a detachable strap).
