I've caught the ear piercing bug and can't decide what to get done next. I currently have 3 lobe on my left and 4 lobe and tragus done on my right. Looking for inspiration.
Please show me your beautiful ears ☺️

Some gorgeous earrings on here. I'm tempted to get my daith pierced, does anyone find it helps with headaches or migraines? I know there's mixed thoughts on it

broccolibush · 11/03/2023 17:44

I can’t say I’ve noticed any change in frequency or severity of migraines since my daith piercing @Blossomandbee but my sister swears her headaches are much less debilitating and much less frequent since she had hers. Mine are food triggered and hers stress triggered though so that’s probably why an earring doesn’t help mine.

My new double forward helix is calming down a bit now it’s a week old - the odd brush by it isn’t excruciating anymore so that’s nice. It’s a beast to clean though because there’s not much access to the back of it. Photo attached for vanity reasons.

Pic of my right ear is taken from the piercers instagram.

Couldn't quite get as a good a pic of my left ear myself 😂

The stone in the middle of the one in my conch matches the purple marchesa in my Daith.

The conch, daith and helix are all rose gold, the others are titanium that's been anodised rose gold to match.

Pickingmyselfup your ears look great. The industrial looks fab and all the piercings really suit you.

Blossomandbee · 11/03/2023 18:33

@broccolibush thank you. Mine are hormonal but I do get pressure in the daith area and rubbing it helps a bit, almost like a pressure point.
Your earrings look great, I wish I was brave enough!

Pickingmyselfup · 11/03/2023 20:03

Gah my industrial is throbbing! I hate this bit of piercings!! I've taken some ibruprofen which has helped, tomorrow is a day closer to it not hurting anymore.

Whilst I was there she changed my daith and one of the helix's because she thought that the coating on the metal was causing some of the issues I've been having. Some built up fluid came out of my daith and she suspected that was also the cause of the discomfort, I've to leave them alone completely now and let my body heal them. Just the industrial to clean, given it a once over tonight, got rid of all the dried blood, seems easy enough to clean anyway.

Swiftbushome · 13/03/2023 16:40

How's it doing now @Pickingmyselfup ?
I've always thought industrials looking great but also painful. I'm a bit of a wuss I think and I know I'd end up knocking it

It was throbbing quite a bit this morning, partly because every now and again I brushed the pillow with it so I took some paracetamol and some ibruprofen this afternoon. Feels fine at the minute, sore to clean but no worse than any others I've had. Haven't knocked it so far but I need to wash my hair tonight, I'm absolutely dreading it because that's when I always knock my piercings. I haven't washed it since before the weekend so it really needs doing, cant put it off any longer.

peachgreen · 13/03/2023 22:42

I got my front helix done! He recommended I wait 4-6 weeks to have the second one done so that’s what I’m doing. Almost a week on and it’s not that bad at all - pretty swollen but not that painful generally. I did catch it yesterday and that was pretty wince inducing but it doesn’t hurt too much to clean. And I LOVE it.

Swiftbushome · 14/03/2023 13:05

Ah nice one @peachgreen want to share a pic?
I have what I assume must be an irritation bump come up on my tragus. Anyone know how to get rid? Or will it just go away on its own?

OP posts:
evilharpy · 14/03/2023 13:16

I've got an appointment with a piercer tomorrow but am not sure what I want. There's a 2 for £x offer and I definitely want a helix piercing but not sure what else. Maybe a forward helix in the same ear. I have four lobes in each ear but usually wear three in one and two in the other.

peachgreen · 14/03/2023 14:03

I’ll wait until it’s less swollen and then post one @Swiftbushome! When I got a bump on my flat piercing I went to the piercer and they adjusted the stud, gave it a good clean and it went away. Might be worth popping in if you’re around?

FunkyMonks · 14/03/2023 14:25

@Swiftbushome is the piercing new or old? Might be worth going to see piercer as if it's new could be the bar is too long and causing it to accidentally be knocked or pushed on when sleeping etc all which can cause irritation bumps.
I know over cleaning can also be a major issue for the cause in bumps.
Love tragus piercings but sadly couldn't keep mine due to lumps I kept getting gave up on them.

Swiftbushome · 14/03/2023 14:47

Thanks. Yes it's pretty new. About 4 weeks old. Maybe it's a sign I need to downsize then. I have an appointment for next Sat anyway so hopefully will get it sorted out.

OP posts:
FunkyMonks · 14/03/2023 15:15

Yes defiantly sounds like a downsize is needed.
I was told 4-6 weeks when I had my conch and helix done and must say so far better since having downsize now the bars flush with the skin so doesn't catch or get knocked.

Pickingmyselfup · 14/03/2023 21:27

Been debating what is next on the piercing agenda and I think my 3rd lobes should be given another go then after that it's either tragus or surface tragus on both sides. Tempted to get both sides surface tragus although it might look a bit matchy 🤔

Isabelle70 · 14/03/2023 22:01

I am thinking of having my 3rd lobes done now my tragus has healed.
However, I have noticed one side of my face is more wrinkled after sleeping on one side for over a year!

peachgreen · 14/03/2023 22:07

Where do you all buy your cartilage jewellery? I rarely change it (just take it out to clean it) so I want something that’s waterproof and won’t tarnish, but not ridiculously priced. Also with a shorter post ideally. Everything I own has too long a post and it’s so annoying!

FunkyMonks · 14/03/2023 22:26

@peachgreen
Titanium is the best metal you can buy that's both safe in terms of being nickel free and higher quality so won't tarnish its also cheaper than Gold.
You can buy that from anywhere online just type in what your after sizes most of the websites have a size guide but you can also check out local piercers for what they sell and stock for advice as well.

Swiftbushome · 15/03/2023 17:49

@evilharpy did you get a piercing today? What did you go for?

OP posts:
Ratatatatatouille · 16/03/2023 09:17

Implant grade titanium. I get mine from my local piercist, who stocks qualitibodyjewellery.

I have been lurking on the thread for weeks, thank you for all sharing and making me go get what I have been talking about for years done. Yesterday I finally got my conch and double helix in my right ear. Just wanted to say thanks to the person who suggested a pillow with a hole in it, absolute game changer!! I was putting off getting more piercing as I'm a side sleeper, but was able to sleep pretty well given I got three in one ear last night! Now to hope they all heal Grin and start thinking about the next upgrades to my left ear!!

Swiftbushome · 16/03/2023 10:29

Wow @MickeyMouse21 good for you! Fancy sharing a pic?

I was someone who recommended the pillow with a hole and yes I second - absolute game changer! thepillowwithahole.co.uk/product/the-original-pwah-v2/

I'm excited this week, I had my tragus pierced on Tuesday (I had been putting it off but I love it, virtually pain free being pierced and after too....and I had a Maria Tash delivery from America (took 4 days from ordering to delivery!) with a diamond bar for my helix, managed to change it myself too!

Piercings make me happy, love them!
