I've caught the ear piercing bug and can't decide what to get done next. I currently have 3 lobe on my left and 4 lobe and tragus done on my right. Looking for inspiration.
Please show me your beautiful ears ☺️

@creamcheeseandlox my daith doesn't affect my AirPods in any way but I can't wear them with my tragus piercing in unless it's a flush fitting flat back earring. I tend to just wear one AirPod instead 🙈

creamcheeseandlox · 23/02/2023 20:14

Thanks. That's good to know. I may go with a rook instead as well as a third lobe on each ear.

SnaccidentsHappen · 24/02/2023 10:16

Swiftbushome · 22/02/2023 20:29

Lovely placement and i really love your lobe earrings. Everyone keeps saying that tragus takes a year. That's a pain! I was really hoping I'd be done in 3 months or so. Maybe not 😬
How long before you slept on it if you don't mind me asking?

I think I slept on it from day one which may have slowed the healing process.

Worth it though

I really want a daith piercing or tragus but does it affect wearing in ear earphones? I have two lobes and a flat at the moment. Want to get a third lobe and possibly a new one elsewhere

I changed my tragus to one with a flat back because of this. The earphones still out it out but it's not uncomfortable.

I also sleep with ear plugs again it pushes it but not uncomfortable.

Swiftbushome · 24/02/2023 10:18

Ah you lot have inspired me to up my game. I've just ordered some lovely earrings from Laura Bond. I prefer silver coloured and the earrings I currently have are actual silver but they get tarnished so bloody quick that they don't look very sparkly any more. And realistically I'm just too bloody lazy to clean them.all the time. I just want ones that go in and stay there! So I've ordered some white gold. And I can't wait for them to arrive 😍

So I went and had the third lobe done yesterday to go with my flat. Maybe get a rook in the other ear next 😬

Yay! Looks lovely. When did you get the flat done? I'm wondering how they are to heal?

There’s quite a few small flower earrings here, does anyone have any recommendations for shops or websites?

Also, what’s the current price like for one piercing in each ear?

Swiftbushome · 25/02/2023 19:44

I love Laura Bond or Astrid and Miyu for earrings. Piercing prices depends where you go. I got 2 done for £30 the other day + jewellery price. What are you thinking of getting done?

ChangedForEmbarrassingQuestions · 25/02/2023 21:06

A helix. I had it done years ago but took them out and they healed up. I’m looking for a tattoo place, yes? The last piercing I had done was in the early 90s.

FunkyMonks · 25/02/2023 21:12

You should be able to find a reputable one locally to you using Google that way you can see reviews from other customers and recommendations for who's best in your area yes they normally tend to be in tattoo shops but you can sometimes get them in own shop.

AreolaGrande · 25/02/2023 21:14

Not remotely useful but for those who asked, my dagger drop huggies were from asos a few years ago. All my earrings are cheapy ones. I get most of them from Etsy.

Word of warning to anyone considering a conch hoop though. Impossible to heal for me. Even after over a year if I lay on that side for even half a second it was agony. It was pretty but ultimately impractical and I ended up letting it close over.

Quite fancy a new piercing after this thread!

Ozzyskye · 25/02/2023 21:30

I want to add a daith to one ear and maybe a forward helix on the tragus ear.

All of my lobes bar the first ones were done by teenage me with a flame-sterilised needle in the mirror so are a bit wonky 😅

Get a daith @Ozzyskye . It's my fave. Looks so cool and is all tucked away so never catches on your bastard hair towel post shower!

Woodendonkey · 25/02/2023 21:37

I had to take my tragus out as I couldn’t wear ear plugs or headphones

RinklyRomaine · 26/02/2023 08:49

Late to the party here. Other side is similar. Helix took over a year to heal which puts me off!

Great thread! Place marking as I really like this look

Here's mine - a horrible addiction! They're a mix of white and rose gold, and have taken me several years to build up. Really recommend Pillow with a Hole to save them from getting sore thepillowwithahole.co.uk

You've got gorgeous selection there

broccolibush · 26/02/2023 11:50

These are mine. I decided to have them done instead of getting an eternity ring from DH as I wear these all the time. It’s a mixture of diamonds and topaz and I’m almost done. I’m having a double forward helix on my left ear next week and that’s it.

I was always self conscious of my ears due to mean comments from people when I was younger (they’re “big” and “floppy” apparently). This was a nice way to make them pretty and all mine.

I have two lobes, tragus, conch and helix on one side and four lobes on the other. Trying to decide between a snonch and daith on that side but waiting for my conch to heal first.

all cartilage piercings take around 12 months on average to heal. Some obviously quicker and some longer. Personally I am not a quick healer, still sleeping on a travel pillow and waiting!

DottieUncBab · 26/02/2023 12:09

Much better photo now (from my piercer’s Instagram!) so it’s much clearer :) don’t think my first photos did my ear justice!!

Swiftbushome · 26/02/2023 14:16

If you have a conch or rook how did it heal? I love the look but I'm a bit nervous on healing as the cartilage is so thick.

What we're your easiest / hardest to heal (of all)?

OP posts:
broccolibush · 26/02/2023 14:22

I have both a conch and a rook and whilst they weren’t the quickest to heal they did so without any problems. The conch was less irritable than the rook, I assume due to its slightly protected position.

The easiest piercing was definitely the daith - barely noticed it at all from
about day 2. The hardest was my tragus. Even a year on it got irritated and grew lumps if you looked at it funny. It seems fine now though.

I do find my piercings are a bit of a canary in the coal mine for my general health though. One or other of them will get pissy as I start to go down with something or if I am very run down. It’s quite useful having the heads up tbh.

Pickingmyselfup · 26/02/2023 16:41

I have 2 lobes in both ears, in my left I have a double helix and a conch and the right a daith. Having an absolute nightmare though, my daith has been done over a year and is currently playing up, it keeps getting bumps on it and bleeding every now and again. The helix and conch have been done 6 months and also causing me issues.

I'm booked to get an industrial done in the right ear, I'm tired of waiting for my piercing to heal so I'm just going for it. I don't know what I'm doing so wrong, I went to a proper piercing studio, I've followed all the correct aftercare but I can't get them to heal. I had to take my 3rds out last year because they wouldn't heal, my belly button also didn't heal when I was 18. It's just another thing to add to the list of things I can't do and the many things wrong with me I suppose.
