I've caught the ear piercing bug and can't decide what to get done next. I currently have 3 lobe on my left and 4 lobe and tragus done on my right. Looking for inspiration.
Please show me your beautiful ears ☺️

@evilharpy did you get a piercing today? What did you go for?

Yeah - I went for a forward helix and a high up helix. Really pleased with them. I only wear gold (although these are silver coloured titanium with little diamonds as that's what was available) so when they heal I'll swap the forward helix for a tiny gold/diamond stud and the helix for maybe a gold/diamond trinity stud.

I'm not posting a photo but I currently have in my left ear four lobe piercings - small diamond cut gold hoop, small gold & diamond hoop and two tiny diamond claw studs, and the new helix and forward helix. And in my right ear I have the same two hoops as my left ear (plus two currently unused lobe holes).

Love this thread!

I only have 1 in each lobe and my right tragus done at the moment. On my list of piercings I'd like done are the triple forward helix and a conch (with a hoop, not a stud) in my left ear, and a daith in my right.

I'd also like my septum done, does anyone here have theirs pierced?

Swiftbushome · 17/03/2023 06:02

My little sister has her septum pierced. It looks great. But then she is 24 years old and beautiful. I'm not sure I could pull it off. Also I saw a lady with a septum ring the other day and a philtrum stud underneath. Looked amazing.

@1stTimeMama I have my septum done love it.
I keep changing the jewellery in it since it's now healed I loved some gem clickers or simple plain gold ring.

FunkyMonks · 17/03/2023 09:54

I'm 36 had mine done at 35 so defiantly don't feel too old having my septum done I've seen older women and think it looks great.

I've always been nervous about face piercings incase anything went wrong and I ended up scarred. I did also wonder if it was a young thing, I'm 40 now, I'm not sure I could pull it off without a full face of make up, which I never do!

And then this makes me feel better about having it done at a later stage!
I'd like a small, close fitting, crystal hoop. I've seen some that resemble bulls, and I really don't want to go for that kind of look!

FunkyMonks · 17/03/2023 10:26

When I first had mine done I had the ring in with the balls either side but since it's now healed I've got a tear drop plain one in.
I don't wear make up much either and think it looks good without having to do my face up for it.
I also like the look of the ones that are snug and dainty looking.
You can get it pierced with nice jewellery I just opted at the time for the least expensive one in case it never healed thankfully it did had no issues and it's similar to getting your lobes done heals quickly.

Bashitcrazy · 18/03/2023 17:47

I've found my people!!! Just turned 40 and feel like I'm having a midlife crisis Grin
I had my nipples done a month ago which I love, now caught the bug, and looking to have some ear piercings but unsure as to what to have.
Was thinking about getting my rook, and conch done but not sure yet. I've booked the appointment for the 1st so have some time to think about it.

terroir · 18/03/2023 17:53

I've got a mini stack in my septum, absolutely love it. The piercing itself is pretty painless (I found the clamp more painful than the actual needle) and there's so much variety for jewellery. I have rose and white gold rings, nice and snug. They're also great as if you decide you want to take it out, where it's tucked away there won't be a scar.

popgoesperfection · 21/03/2023 19:25

so many beautiful ears!! i've just had my seconds done and am eager to start adding more. i'd quite like a mid helix, what's healing like with these?

Swiftbushome · 21/03/2023 20:20

I'm booked in for Saturday for hopefully a double helix. May go for a flat though if my ears aren't quite the wrong shape for a double helix. So I'd like to know too :)

Hopefully you can get the double helix. I'm going to book in for a daith after my holiday.

FindingMeno · 24/03/2023 20:58

I have 7 lobes, helix, conch and rook.
I found the rook and conch painful to be pierced.
The helix was most difficult to heal. I had it done over 30 years ago and it still gets sore if I use the wrong jewellery 😮
My method is to only be pierced with solid titanium, and only 'wet' clean for as short a time as possible.

Pickingmyselfup · 24/03/2023 21:41

Trying to figure out what to do next.

I want to get my 3rd lobes done again but the left ear might look a bit too cluttered and the right ear look a bit too empty still.

Maybe an anti tragus in the right ear instead?

I want a surface tragus doing too, probably both ears or at least one surface and one normal tragus...

Pics attached of both ears.

I'm not getting any new ones until September, I have a mini break at the beginning of this month with the husband for our anniversary so it would spoil the mood somewhat if I flinched everytime he came near me.

He's over his strop about my industrial, he will not be impressed if I get any more done but he doesn't get a say.

Swiftbushome · 25/03/2023 06:56

Can't see your photos @Pickingmyselfup
I have an appointment today to get another piercing (hopefully a double helix but will see what they suggest) I def need something higher up to balance my ear.
Interesting that you found the conch painful @FindingMeno I've heard lots say that about the rook but not the conch

OP posts:
FunkyMonks · 25/03/2023 07:12

I didn't find my conch painful my rook was the most painful one but that could have been more the fiddling part not the needle when first piercing but the getting the jewellery in pressure i tensed up forgot to keep breathing 🤣🤣.

I would love my other ear done now.
I have my lobes pierced three times both sides but I never wear anything in them.
I would like to get a flat done and possibly an anti tragus or faux rook.

But I know I'm going to give it a while now before I get anymore I need to ensure the three I've got heal up first without any issues and I'm also missing being able to sleep through without subconsciously waking to not sleep on my left side or use my little pillow with a hole if I do.

Does anyone have any tips or advise I'm desperate for my hair to be coloured and cut badly but I'm dreading the hairdressers for fear of them snagging the piercings even when you've mentioned them they still occasionally end up catching them I know accidents happen but as everyone here knows it's the worse thing to happen to newly healing piercings getting caught or bumped leads to issues so wondering if anyone here has any tips that work 😊.

That's because I forgot to attach them 🙄

Here they are..

Industrial feels sore this morning, must have slept on it in the night without realising.

A snonch in your right I think!

Swiftbushome · 25/03/2023 14:48

They look great. I think a tragus or anti tragus would look really nice on the industrial ear (think its your right but I'm crap with spatial awareness so not sure!!)
I'm just back from my appointment and managed to get a helix which is great bc I didn't think my ear shape was right. She didn't want to do a double today though bc I'm healing the tragus and a stacked lobe - well I thought it was a lobe, it was meant to be - but my piercer reckons it was done a bit too high and its actually been done through the cartilage. I'm actually really annoyed. It was done at a chain shop rather than a specific piercing place so I'm definitely not making that mistake again. I'm sticking to the place I went today. They're so much better. And they stock BVLA jewellery which I LOVE.

How can someone who pierces ears for a living accidentally pierce cartilage when it was meant to be lobe??? Aaarrgghhh!

I did think about an anti tragus on the right industrial ear. Lower down than the conch but a bit higher than 3rds. Or get the 3rds done too...

I fancy a surface tragus on the other ear but it's such a time consuming effort leaving one to heal for a bit.

Ratatatatatouille · 27/03/2023 16:48

@Swiftbushome it all depends on your ears. My fourth lobe is in cartilage but most people wouldn’t have cartilage in that area.

popgoesperfection · 01/04/2023 15:27

just looking for some advice, my seconds are nearly 2 week old now. right ear feels very tender and noticed a little yellow puss this morning, what's the best thing to do with it?
