I've caught the ear piercing bug and can't decide what to get done next. I currently have 3 lobe on my left and 4 lobe and tragus done on my right. Looking for inspiration.
Please show me your beautiful ears ☺️

I think you should be able to get pierced with a ring? I know my sis did and they do that at the place where I go but maybe it's anatomy dependent or something?
And you're not too old!! I'm 46 and I just got my nostril done and still getting piercings and tattoos. My auntie is 66 and just got her latest tattoo a couple months ago. You're not too old till your dead!!
I actually think older women (not that you even ARE older yet!!) look bloody amazing with piercings and tattoos.

I knew you lot would understand. I agree, it's looks awesome at all ages. I'll see what the jewellery options are. Last time I asked him he said it had to be a horseshoe but maybe he can be convinced.

MintIcecreams · 16/09/2024 19:00

I did it! I don't actually mind the horseshoe either 🙂 Didn't hurt much, just made my eyes water.

Swiftbushome · 16/09/2024 19:19

Ah well done. Congratulations. Glad you're pleased

@MintIcecreams it will be one of your most easiest ones with healing glad it went well 😊

popgoesperfection · 08/02/2025 21:57

How is everyone's piercing healing? Has anyone added any new ones? I'm planning my next piercing within the next couple of weeks, i've decided on a daith and i might get another but not sure what just yet.

Swiftbushome · 08/02/2025 22:15

Ooh perfect timing!! I've literally been thinking of getting something new the last couple of days.
I fancy an upper lobe on the left and some sort of double piercing on the right. Maybe a second helix? Or maybe a double flat.
Last thing I got done was my nostril in September and that's all healed now.

FunkyMonks · 09/02/2025 08:10

No more for me I've settled on just having my rook conch and septum and leaving it as I had to take my helix out a while back it was playing up and got painful I don't seem to have much luck with piercings my septum was the only one to heal quickly and with no issues.
I've even slowed down on my leg tattoos now my new venture is my hair care at the moment 😂.

popgoesperfection · 04/04/2025 20:54

well, i still haven’t been for another piercing yet. not had the time plus im a bit nervous about getting my daith done, what’s the pain ? i’m really rubbish with needles (believe it or not even thought i’ve piercings, tattoos, had an emergency section and even had my tongue pierced 🙈) and keep talking myself out of it cos i just know ill feel faint 😩

popgoesperfection · 04/04/2025 20:55

what’s the pain like that should say

Swiftbushome · 04/04/2025 23:25

Omg you've had your tongue pierced but you're scared to get your daith? 😆
Where's the logic? Tongue piercings terrify me!
I haven't had a daith so can't say from personal experience but I know a few people who have and they said it's fine. I would love to get it but I have the wrong anatomy. Boo.
Im getting my faux rook downsized tomorrow and I'm considering upgrading my nostril jewelry while I'm there.

popgoesperfection · 05/04/2025 10:13

I know 🙈 i had it done when i was 16 so i didn’t know what to expect haha fast forward 20 years and multiple piercings later i know im crap with needles. i’ve armed myself with lucazade and my big girl pants and set off to town. wish me luck

Swiftbushome · 05/04/2025 11:13

Yay! Good luck. Would love to see a photo when you're done

popgoesperfection · 05/04/2025 11:39

got it done. weren’t as bad as i expected although putting the bar in did hurt. will get OH to take a pic when i get home.

Swiftbushome · 05/04/2025 18:30

Ah well done!! I switched up my nostril jewellery for a new piece. I'm actually double thinking it now though. I had a teensy little CZ stud before but now I have a blue topaz. My (10 year old!) son came with me and he and the piercer both said it suited me but I dunno now. Colour on my face feels a bit weird. I've decided to see if it grows on my and if not I'll stick it in a lobe piercing and put the old one back in

Isabelle70 · 05/04/2025 21:33

I have been thinking about having another lobe piercing, I have seen a lotus flower stud that would look good once healed. I currently have a Tragus on the left and then 2 lobe piercings each side. Maybe a 3rd lobe on the right? Or keep all the "extra" ones on the same side?
I need to go and have the plastic earring in the Tragus swapped back out following having a MRI last week so could have a piercing at the same time!

MintIcecreams · 07/04/2025 18:49

Hi everyone! Nice to see piercings are still happening. I haven't had any since my septum last year but I have had a couple of tattoos. I'm getting my next this week too.

After that I think it's time for a new piercing. Anyone got a forward helix? Is it a pain in the arse?

@popgoesperfection what jewellery did you go for?

@Swiftbushome the blue topaz sounds nice. Is it a pale one or deep blue? I know what you mean about colour on your face though.

popgoesperfection · 07/04/2025 19:33

@Swiftbushomei love blue topaz. sometimes when it’s a change it does feel like it doesn’t look right to start with doesn’t it.
ooh @Isabelle70id go with thirds on both plus maybe a helix on opposite ear to tragus.
i just had a standard curved bar @MintIcecreams as i’ve seen a nice hoop online i’ll get once it’s healed. i haven’t got a forward helix but do think they look nice!

Swiftbushome · 07/04/2025 20:24

Where did you get your tattoos @MintIcecreams ? I got a coverup last year for my old 90s tramp stamp and I bloody love it
I had a forward helix and it never really healed. It was actually my worst piercing. Gave up on it after about a year BUT it looked great. Maybe you'll have better luck.

If a forward helix is a pain in the arse then your anatomy is waaay off or your piercer is 😂

I have lobes x3 / daith/ tragus/forward helix.

Not changed the forward helix yet its healed but its a fussy little git

Isabelle70 · 07/04/2025 23:15

@popgoesperfection I don't fancy anymore cartilage piercings, the Tragus took over it year after the hairdresser gave it a good whack!
Maybe a 3rd in both is the way to go.. for a 3rd lobe, it's the flat back studs?

WhyDoesItAlways · 07/04/2025 23:37

I have a double forward helix. The lower one healed really easily but the higher up one has been over 18 months now and still not healed fully. The bar was too long so when I slept on it the bar pushed against the cartilage behind it and forced the earring at an angle. I saw 2 piercers who insisted it was the right length bar so I got a little tool kit to help me change it myself. Just went 1mm shorter and it's made all the difference. No longer bothers me if I sleep on it and not had any ooozy flare ups since.

Thanks for this thread @Swiftbushome this is something I've been wanting to do for ages. Does anyone have a piercing studio recommendation in the NW please?

It’s the south bit of the NW but hill and hill in Altrincham are great

popgoesperfection · 13/04/2025 21:49

well my conch has been playing up so i’ve took the hoop out to put a bar in and i can’t get in back through 😞 it won’t go through the back and now it’s angry and bleeding so i think im going to have to leave it. pfft
