I've caught the ear piercing bug and can't decide what to get done next. I currently have 3 lobe on my left and 4 lobe and tragus done on my right. Looking for inspiration.

My conch was easy - I think it's cos it's tucked away. Hardest to heal have been a helix, daith got some serious bumps before it healed and third lobe

Is anyone able to sleep on a conch piercing with a ring? I changed my stud for a ring at about 8 months or so thinking it was fully healed. Had to change it back after a week or 2 because it swelled and got a piercing bump. It had seemed to be healed, even the piercer thought it was fine I went back to the shop to get it changed out.
I love the look of a hoop and want to give it a go again in a couple of months when it's a year old but I don't want to avoid side sleeping for ever.
Otherwise has anyone added a chain to a stud so it looks a bit like a ring? Is that better for sleeping?

I can sleep with a conch hoop. I’ve currently got a graduated thickness one in that does seem to stop it flipping up and down quite as much.

@Swiftbushome I changed my conch to a ring after having it for a year and I got massive bumps on it had to go back and change to labret still having issues with mine.

The ring moved a lot and when sleeping must have irritated it.

Just FYI I have small ears so an 8mm hoop fits nicely. If your piecing site is further in or you have bigger ears these might be a little snug.

It's interesting to read about conch hoops. Mine is nowhere near healed enough but I'm excited to try one.

I got my two new lobes yesterday. My right ear feels so much more finished now. I'll post a pic later.

My conch seemed to have healed completely until I swapped it for a ring and now it’s gone a bit weepy. Interesting though, my daith, conch and flat all healed really well, Tragus, forward helix and double conch were with a different piercer and much more problematic…

Anyway, I have a hidden helix booked for September and then I am Done. Honest.

So my mid life crisis is still going and this Saturday I'm going to get my tounge pierced. I'm a bit concerned I'll just get judged negatively though but I also need to stop letting other people's opinions get to me! We only live once so why not, if I hate it I'll take it out.

Thinking of getting my 3rd lobes redone too but I'm a bit concerned because the last time they were an absolute nightmare. I still have my industrial, helix and conch but in the last few years I've had to take out one helix, tragus and my 3rd lobes.

Anybody got any words of wisdom for me?

Exciting @Pickingmyselfup! Let us know how it goes. I always said I wouldn't get my tongue done but I've been thinking about it recently. Still want my septum. How has the industrial healed? My helix is my most annoying piercing. I've had it well over a year now and it is still pissed off.

It's had its ups and downs but 18 months on and it's pretty much there I think. Still can't sleep on it permanently though, it doesn't hurt hurt but it's uncomfortable.

I went ahead and got my tounge pierced today after chickening out the other week. The actual process was nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be. It hurt a bit but biting my tongue is worse and all of my ear piercings and nipple piercings hurt more!

Currently it's very annoying but the bar is so big to account for swelling and my tongue is also swollen so also not helping. Going back to get it downsized next week which will apparently make a big difference.

I've been told to stick to cold drinks and foods so I tried ice cream but until it melted it was tricky to eat because I wanted to chew it. I'm not great at being hungry so I hope I'm not too grumpy about the lack of real food but maybe it will do the weight loss some good.

been a while since i posted on here! Finally got round to getting my conch pierced, and ended up with a flat too 🙈 even though i decided i was only getting one piercing! oops! anyway, it's still early days so a long while till i can change piercings but im enjoying looking at different hoops and studs for when i can change them!

How’s the tongue doing @Pickingmyselfup ?

My 4th and 5th lobes are 5 weeks old now and I have a giant bump on the 5th. Never had a bump on a lobe piercing before. It’s bigger than the stud!

Well it was doing ok but when I went back to get it downsized she just couldn't get the smaller bar in. I was trying to stick my tongue out as much as possible but it wasn't helping, we had a clamp, several tapers, my eyes were watering but after 15 minutes I just couldn't take any more so I said just stop and we won't continue. It's clearly not meant to be because of she can't do it with her experience I will never be able to change it myself even though she was going to try put the bigger bar in.

It's a bit disappointing but I'm not too sad, I was very much on the fence when I had it done and only went through with it because I knew I would regret not. I was so tempted to take it out on Saturday less than 24 hours in, I've never given up this easily before so I think deep down I just didn't really want it.

That sounds very uncomfortable, I would have stopped too. It's a shame but it does sound like too much trouble. Has it healed now?

I think I'm going to get a daith or a septum next. I've got a holiday in the last week of August so I'll leave it until then I think. I'm going to get another tattoo then too (why are they so addictive?)

We only tried downsizing today so I still have a hole but it feels less annoying but wow my whole mouth feels so bruised! I'm the only person this has ever happened to she said so there we go, I'm unique.

Do you have any piercings planned?

Nothing at the moment, no more ears until they all heal, husband is getting fed up of them constantly hurting.

I'm probably too old but I fancy my belly button done again but my stomach isn't what it used to be after 2 c sections.

I want another tattoo but they are so expensive and a lot more time consuming and permanent. I have some varicose veins on one leg I was thinking of tattooing around to hide them but they are in the crease of my knee as well as my thigh.

I just suck all round really!

Ah sorry to hear about the tongue @Pickingmyselfup. Sounds disappointing (and painful) but yeah like you said - you tried and now you know it's not for you. I've still not had my nostril done. Had my wisdom tooth out in May which was what I was waiting for. Then I don't like getting pierced in the summer in case we suddenly have good weather and I want to go swimming! So will probably do it in September.
What tattoo are you planning @MintIcecreams? I want another one too - I really like the idea of a classical Greek goddess but not sure where on my body I want it 😂 any ideas welcome
