Thread for anyone who has the Cult Beauty 2022 advent calendar and would like to discuss contents.

In line with the waifs and strays thread I suggest no earlier than 7am for discussing that days contents?

I'm away for part of the month so might not be terribly active but we were cutting it fine for starting a thread!

One more sleep 🎄

I’m happy with this but agree the size is a bit underwhelming. I liked the sunscreen from this brand from last year so will look forward to trying this. I always like trying out new sunscreens and this will be a handy size to take away when we hit the mountains after Christmas.

AllTheBlackCoffee · 06/12/2022 19:15

Waaah @Housewife2010 that’s a shame. Guess I’ll have to stump up the ridiculous delivery charge if I want to give it a go.

Housewife2010 · 06/12/2022 20:07

@AllTheBlackCoffee Make sure you sign up to Victoria Beckham beauty on Instagram and email. A couple of weeks ago there was an offer through Instagram where you could get 20% off and free delivery I was almost tempted by the eyeliners.

AllTheBlackCoffee · 06/12/2022 20:21

Great tip, thanks @Housewife2010 !

chloechloe · 06/12/2022 20:37

Thanks for the tip @Housewife2010 , I love the look of those eyeliners!

Jellycats4life · 06/12/2022 21:47

So tomorrow’s box is looking kind of skinny - a mascara or eyeliner perhaps? I don’t particularly want either but equally I won’t be mad if that’s what it is.

MidnightMeltdown · 06/12/2022 22:13

I generally quite like to get sunscreen as it's useful, and something that I would need to buy anyway. This however isn't my favourite brand. I'm using one at the moment from last years cult beauty calendar and it's very thick and sticky. I wish that they'd given us a different brand this time.

PanicAtTheBigTesco · 07/12/2022 08:06

Interested to try today's, I don't think I've ever tried a vitamin D product. I can only find a couple of reviews online but they seem positive!

Agree that’s this one looks very interesting. Mine looks really runny/watery so I initially thought it was a spray. Looking forward to giving it a go!

OchonAgusOchonOh · 07/12/2022 08:19

I'm very pleased with today's too. Vid D is a new one to me but happy to try it.

AllTheBlackCoffee · 07/12/2022 08:48

Any ideas where this should come in the routine?? Instructions are not helpful at all.

PanicAtTheBigTesco · 07/12/2022 08:53

I'm thinking between cleansing and moisturising instead of a serum? Agree the instructions are vague and there isn't even any further detail on CB website in the 'how to use' section which is my go to when a product doesn't have great instructions.

I was wondering how and when to use it too. It says morning and night and I can see it’s only good for six months after opening so it’s definitely a product you’ll want to get through as quickly as possible.

I think The Ordinary have confused me so much when it comes to saying certain products shouldn’t be used with each other (i.e. not mixing retinol with vit c, or not mixing acids with peptides) because you get to a point where you feel like you can’t use up all the products you want to use, for fear they are all cancelling each other out 😄

AllTheBlackCoffee · 07/12/2022 09:53

@Jellycats4life thankfully I'm clueless so just slap everything on!

Today I've gone for, in order of application: cleanser, micellear (sp?) water, toner, serum, vit d, moisturiser, eye cream, sunscreen, tinted moisturiser and concealer.

Hopefully something will work 😂

OchonAgusOchonOh · 07/12/2022 10:02

I like your approach @AllTheBlackCoffee. I'm generally much the same.

Quick question re vit c and retinol. Someone mentioned you shouldn't use them together. Does that mean during the same application (e.g. during your night time routine) or at all? So could I use retinol at night and vit c in the morning?

PanicAtTheBigTesco · 07/12/2022 10:02

Yes I just whack a bit of everything on and hope for the best too!!

Jellycats4life · 07/12/2022 13:10

I reckon I’ll just have to start liberally applying everything too. Every little helps!

A photo of today’s product because why not.

Zoetrope1 · 07/12/2022 19:05

@OchonAgusOchonOh fine to use together as long as your skin can tolerate it. I’m new to retinol though so I use vit c in the morning and retinol at night. Or I might follow the retinol with a low dose vit c like the lovely biossance vit c rose oil.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 07/12/2022 20:46

Thanks @Zoetrope1. My skin is pretty robust 😁

Barnesand2020 · 07/12/2022 21:05

Very pleased with today’s offering. I’ve been wanting to try something by Zelens for ages. I’ve actually compiled a list of everything I need to use up before I really crack open the Advent new arrivals. I’ve been making an effort these past couple of weeks and am happy to say things are being ticked off the list. I felt I needed to reduce the situation a bit!

chloechloe · 07/12/2022 21:32

@OchonAgusOchonOh I tend to use Vit C in the morning and retinol at night.

I’m pleased with today’s serum, it has a nice texture and feels very nourishing. I’ve used it this evening in place of a serum and am loving using the CEO serum in the morning with the moisturuser.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 07/12/2022 22:01

Thanks @chloechloe

AllTheBlackCoffee · 08/12/2022 07:11

I’ve had this moisturiser before and found it really lovely so I’m pleased with today. Pricey though, would never buy for myself.

Anyone else getting a bit bored of skincare though? I only have one face so could do with breaking it up a little.

Zoetrope1 · 08/12/2022 07:17

@AllTheBlackCoffee not me, I love getting skincare 😂 Skincare, perfumes, candles and the occasional lipstick (preferably bright) are my jam. Hair masks and oils are also welcome but other make up products and things like dry shampoo are totally wasted on me.

Zoetrope1 · 08/12/2022 07:20

Day 8, Augustinas Badar, The Rich Cream, 15ml worth £68

Stimulate the skin’s natural processes of rejuvenation and work to dramatically improve the complexion’s appearance with Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream, a deeply nourishing face cream supporting the skin’s barrier function.

Formulated with the brand’s TFC8, or Trigger Factor Complex, The Rich Cream nourishes the skin with key ingredients for healthy cell renewal. Rich in omega 6 fatty acids and antioxidants, this face cream features replenishing argan, avocado and evening primrose oils to help protect the skin against free radical damage. Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream also acts as a shield against dry climates and is ideal as part of a night-time routine.

The thick and rich formula is ideal for normal to dry skin as well as more mature skin types. For best results, use both morning and evening by applying the cream onto cleansed, dry skin, smoothing the desired amount over the face, neck and décolleté.

Second one I’ve received this week in an advent but happy to have it. I’ve read good things but not enough to justify the hefty price tag! Will enjoy using it though.
