Thread for anyone who has the Cult Beauty 2022 advent calendar and would like to discuss contents.

In line with the waifs and strays thread I suggest no earlier than 7am for discussing that days contents?

I'm away for part of the month so might not be terribly active but we were cutting it fine for starting a thread!

One more sleep 🎄

It gets a bit of hate on here sometimes but I quite like this cream too! I'd never buy it myself but it's great for my dry skin.
@AllTheBlackCoffee yes I was going to say this yesterday! I'm ready for a bit of make up now to mix things up, I always know there's a few more hair products to come which I'd rather just get out the way as I won't use them Grin

Also very happy with this today! Like others I don’t think I’d ever bring myself to pay full price for this but my skin loves it. Perfect for using over the winter!

Jellycats4life · 08/12/2022 08:38

Blimey, that’s expensive for only 15ml!

I’m not familiar with this brand but I’d definitely seen its distinctive bottle featuring in more than one advent calendar this year. Reckon it’s the last of the moisturisers?

I’m ready for a bit of make up too. I saw one of the calendars yesterday had a Pat McGrath blush - I’d be really happy to get something like that. I haven’t got my make up mojo back since Covid and have been using the same two Benefit blushes for ages.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 08/12/2022 09:04

Delighted with today's. I would definitely never buy it so it gives me a chance to try it out.

I'm happy with skincare. I have so much makeup, I really don't need any more. I would also like candles, hair stuff that isn't a hair mask (usually way too much effort), body stuff (scrubs, creams, oils). I even like handcream.

Zoetrope1 · 08/12/2022 09:06

@OchonAgusOchonOh id love some candles and hand cream too! also I wish advents had more lip balm. I would be so happy with both a lip balm and lip mask in the same calendar!

Zoetrope1 · 08/12/2022 09:09

@Jellycats4life I received the Pat McGrath blush in Selfridges yesterday. I don’t wear make up and promised it to a friend but it’s so, so beautiful I can’t say I’m not tempted 😂 I am shocked that it was one of the most delightful items to open for me!

OchonAgusOchonOh · 08/12/2022 09:12

@Zoetrope1 I'm very fussy about my lip balm so usually end up offloading them.

I'm currently using Hawthorn lip balm. It's amazing. It's a localish handmade skincare company and the face balm for night use and the body oil are my favourite products ever.

Aldi used to do a great beeswax lip balm in their specials but seem to have stopped it a couple of years ago.

Zoetrope1 · 08/12/2022 09:15

@OchonAgusOchonOh that Hawthorn lip balm sounds amazing, I’ll look it up thank you!

Tell your friend it was smashed you've asked for a replacement. Then "forget" about it

@supadupapupascupa 😂😂😂😂

I like today’s drawer. I’ve only had a tiny sample of this before which I used on that crinkly bit of neck that I kept catching a glimpse of in the mirror... you know the one! I find it helps disguise this, prob because it’s so rich. Haven’t tried it on my face yet, but now that I have a larger bottle, might give it a go.

AllTheBlackCoffee · 09/12/2022 07:58

Third moisturiser so far and second in two days. Sure it is lovely and will certainly get used but I really want something exciting soon.

Zoetrope1 · 09/12/2022 08:12

I’m happy to receive a few moisturisers, I burn through them

In always happy to get moisturiser as they definitely get used but agree there's been a lot of skincare so far, I know there's more hair products to come and some make up items so where are they!

OP posts:
Squishmymallow · 09/12/2022 08:23

I tried a sample of this moisturiser recently and enjoyed it although I think I might keep this one for the warmer weather and focus on yesterday’s AB cream while it’s cold! I’m also looking forward to some hair care or make up soon…

AllTheBlackCoffee · 09/12/2022 09:11

Update - I've tried today's cream this morning and I have to say I'm impressed. I put on quite a thick layer as my skin is so dry and it was really soothing. Skin now feels nice and firm. So I think this is a winner and something I might repurchase at it's not too spendy either.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 09/12/2022 09:35

Really happy with today's too. But yeah, a bit of variety would be no harm. The order of things seems a bit random.

Jellycats4life · 09/12/2022 09:38

@AllTheBlackCoffee Today’s moisturiser is around a tenner so not spendy at all.

So I was wrong when I speculated yesterday that this was the last of the moisturisers! I don’t mind - at least it’s another full size product. Will probably end up saving this for the summer since it sounds like a lightweight formula.

For the last couple of years CB has had several makeup items together in the Saturday before Christmas drawer. I don't know if they're doing the same this year.

PanicAtTheBigTesco · 09/12/2022 12:12

@Housewife2010 yes you are right good point!

AllTheBlackCoffee · 10/12/2022 07:53

Pleased with today, love a good serum and also a new brand for me.

God I'm so looking forward to next Saturday's drawer of joy!

PanicAtTheBigTesco · 10/12/2022 08:38

I'm looking forward to giving this a go, I like other things that I've tried from Inkey list, their B,C&E moisturiser is my go to when I don't have anything from calendars/beauty boxes on the go and I've also bought the oat cleanser a couple of times which is good for the price point.

As I have very sensitive skin (especially at this time of year) I normally give anything that sounds like it has active ingredients in it a miss but the packaging assures it's for everyone so hopefully it's fine!

OP posts:
Zoetrope1 · 10/12/2022 09:16

I’m also happy with today! I love the Inkey list, I use their oat cleansing balm and salicylic cleanser and have been meaning to give their serums a go. And this is more my cup of tea: affordable, but science backed skincare. I would much rather full size products from the Inkey list, Paula’s choice, the ordinary etc than tiny samples from “luxury” brands.

From CB site: Once you’re done trying to pronounce it, THE INKEY LIST’s Polyglutamic Acid is the dryness-banishing formula that all dehydrated skin types should add to their #shelfie. Holding four times more moisture than hyaluronic acid (gasp), polyglutamic acid is a hydration powerhouse – and then some. Unlike hyaluronic acid, the magical ingredient has large molecules, allowing it to form a thin film on the skin’s surface to prevent water loss, while plumping the appearance of fine lines and brightening lacklustre or uneven complexions. With a 3% polyglutamic acid complex, THE INKEY LIST’s formula leaves skin smooth, supple and oh-so hydrated – you can even combine it with their Hyaluronic Acid for a mega dose of moisturising goodness.
