Thread for anyone who has the Cult Beauty 2022 advent calendar and would like to discuss contents.

In line with the waifs and strays thread I suggest no earlier than 7am for discussing that days contents?

I'm away for part of the month so might not be terribly active but we were cutting it fine for starting a thread!

One more sleep 🎄

I always feel smug saying this but my hair is in pretty perfect condition without needing to do anything to it other than use bog standard shampoo and conditioner, so products like this are completely wasted on me as I just forget about them!

However my best friend dyes her hair more often than I have hot dinners so she very happily takes any hair masks off me.

A bit meh. I just find hair masks a load of hassle. Having to wet your hair first is a pain and, like @PanicAtTheBigTesco , my hair is in good nick so it doesn't do much.

ithoughtisawapuddycat · 04/12/2022 09:21

Probably won't use today's product. It smells quite masculine and unfortunately DH doesn't have enough hair to make use of it. I'll keep the items I won't use and take them to my family when I go at Christmas and they can make use of them.

Zoetrope1 · 04/12/2022 11:00

I’m happy with today, I swim a lot and hair masks are always welcome. I’ve heard great things about this brand too.

Happy with today’s drawer. Something different and a brand I haven’t tried and probably wouldn’t have picked up myself. I just got my LiB calendar from Tik Tok delivered so am catching up on days 1-4. Trying not to get myself confused between calendars!

Squishmymallow · 04/12/2022 13:48

I love a good hair mask so I’m pleased! A new brand to me but like others I’ve heard good things so I’m looking forward to giving it a try!

chloechloe · 04/12/2022 21:41

I’m not too excited about the hair mask either. But at least it works in 5 minutes so I can use it in the shower. Unlike the zillion tubes of Elasticizer I have which involves too much gaffing to use!

I did notice that a lot of the ACs seemed to be going heavy on hair products, especially masks this year.

Day 5, Youth to the People Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream, 59ml with £50

A deeply hydrating moisturiser with superior plant extracts and a pro-grade peptide complex, Youth To The People's Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream is formulated for dry, reactive, and sensitive skin.

Perfect for those who want to get stressed out skin in check, Youth To The People's Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream is a must-try. This ultra-soothing, fragrance-free formula blends an intelligent hydration trio of squalane, jojoba and shea butter for ultra long-lasting, deep hydration that won't clog pores. The cream's adaptogenic extract blend of ashwagandha and fermented reishi mushroom helps skin cope with dryness, irritation, redness, and fine lines and wrinkles while calming peptides keep the skins response to environmental stress in check for a happy, healthy and balanced finish.

I already have one of those (I think from the good to glow goodie bag?) which I haven’t opened yet. It looks promising! Happy with day 5.

Also pleased with this. Tried a little bit on the back of my hand and it felt really nice. The smell, or lack of, is a bit weird though but not unpleasant.

PanicAtTheBigTesco · 05/12/2022 08:01

Very happy with today! I have horrendously dry skin especially at this time of year so always happy to try products that claim to be deeply moisturising, even better as I'm just about to run out of day cream so this has come at a great time.

Very happy with today's offering.

Jellycats4life · 05/12/2022 09:23

Today’s offering is decent, although annoyingly I haven’t long bought a day cream so it will be a while before I can use this one.

Barnesand2020 · 05/12/2022 09:58

Happy to try this, not heard of the brand before. Days 1 and 3 still my favourite so far.

Squishmymallow · 05/12/2022 11:06

Pleased with the moisturiser this morning! I feel like my skin needs all the moisture it can get at this time of year. Like PP my favourite so far is also the day 1 serum - I’ve used it every day and feel like I can already see a positive difference in my skin. Probably psychological though at this early stage…?!

simplesimply · 05/12/2022 15:23

I'm also in love with the vitamin c serum, I've tried the CEO moisturiser but it didn't do much for me, but this is so lovely and really makes my skin look brighter.

chloechloe · 05/12/2022 23:06

I’m really happy with this. I only have sample sized moisturizers to use up at the moment so am pleased to have a full size one. Looks like it’s just the thing for winter too. I have the super greens face wash from the same brand which is good so hopefully this will be too.

AllTheBlackCoffee · 06/12/2022 07:25

Really can't get excited about today's offering. And such a tiny tube too. I have another one from this brand, possibly from last year's calendar, and it's still in the drawer. I will use it though, but I never know where sunscreen should fit into my skincare regime. Any tips?

I have been keeping a tally of prices and am pleased to report that we're at £213 so far, so with a good product tomorrow we'll be over the cost of the calendar.

Zoetrope1 · 06/12/2022 07:43

It’s my favourite sunscreen! Zero white cast and I like its consistency. Happy to have a little travel size for my bag.

@AllTheBlackCoffee it should be the last step in your morning skincare routine, after your moisturiser. Also sunscreen has a use by date so might be a good idea to check the one from last year?

AllTheBlackCoffee · 06/12/2022 07:47

Thanks @Zoetrope1 I will give it a go today and report back.

Jellycats4life · 06/12/2022 08:22

Today’s product is useful but underwhelming! Hoping for something more exciting. It might be a case of careful what you wish for, but I’d like a lipstick or lip gloss - as long as it’s neutral. I decided against buying one of the reduced calendars (maybe Selfridges?) because there was a deep red MAC lipstick which is a hard no from me.

Squishmymallow · 06/12/2022 09:14

I’m interested to try today’s product - it’s been on my list for a while but something more exciting has always made it into my basket first! 😂 Not too bothered about the small size as it’ll give me enough to see if I like it enough to repurchase. I’m really enjoying the calendar so far!

AllTheBlackCoffee · 06/12/2022 09:15

I'd like some makeup too. I've been eyeing up the Victoria Beckham sparkly eyeliner that keeps appearing on my FB feed and would be chuffed to get one of those. There was a VB lipstick last year so not beyond the realm of possibilities. I have no idea on the contents though so will just have to wait and see.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 06/12/2022 09:45

Not terribly the exciting but useful. I also thing the size is a bit mean.

Housewife2010 · 06/12/2022 10:37

There are no Victoria Beckham items in any of the ACs this year.

PanicAtTheBigTesco · 06/12/2022 12:49

Pretty happy with today, not hugely exciting but something that will get used! I've had their glow screen one from last years calendar and another beauty box which was a bit orange on me (very very pale) so this one should be better.
