General chat about beauty advent calendars.

Lumene products do seem to go a long way, though. I've always quite enjoyed them. Tempted.

I’m using a Lumene night cream from one of my many calendars. It’s great.

I'm currently looking at Selfridges calendar but already have Cowshed and LF 😣

My Jurlique calendar should arrive today teatime so then I'll start opening. To simplify and extend it, I'm going to jump in at day 5, then open 1-4 at the end to give a longer run to Jadvent 😀

@AnneShirleysNewDress I thought the Selfridges calendar was lovely and despite mine being tampered with, I’ve discovered some products that I’d buy again. If it’s on sale still I say go for it!

Haven't received it yet, but Cowshed have promised to send the serum that was missed out of the reduced calendar. Fingers crossed!

I’m considering following in the footsteps of @Peridot1 and signing up for the Liberty beauty drop. Can anyone recommend?

Looking at their past boxes, they seem nice but I wonder if I’d be more tempted by the occasional space nk/CB beauty box/gwp (although both retailers have provided terrible customer service recently). I’m not sure I’d buy the liberty advent calendar at the end of the year either which I know a lot do use their credit
on.

I have done it purely for the advent calendar next year. The Beauty Boxes will be a nice bonus!

The boxes are a nice (very nice!) bonus but it’s really a saving scheme. I joined to save for the advent last year, I won’t get it again but I’m still a member for now because there are a couple of things I’ll need to buy in the next few months that Liberty sells and I’ll get the boxes as a freebie. Win win!

@Pinenu I agree the boxes are nice, but I think the decision should be based on whether you are likely to want to spend £240 a year at Liberty - this could be for the advent calendar, Beauty gifts sets, beauty GWPs or non-beauty stuff (whether in the sales or otherwise). I was spending at least that at Liberty annually in any event, so for me it was an easy decision.

I'd message them. They also told me they would be sending the serum as it was missing from the AC even though listed. Then crickets. So I emailed inquiring about its whereabouts. Apparently they're out of the serum, and they've refunded me the price of the entire calendar instead!

I easily spend more than that elsewhere on beauty (that I don’t need) throughout the year so my hope would be to avoid that and limit myself to end of year treats with liberty.

I’ll give it a go for a year, see how it goes.

I'm pondering the beauty dropbox as well as i really liked a couple of products in the calendar and that would make them easier to order again.

I’ve resisted the beauty drop so far. I signed up for TOYL to get the December box for the serum that was in Flannels AC. I’ll keep the subscription for a month of two to see what I get, then I may stop it and sign up for Liberty (or both 😁) I’m trying not to buy any clothes for a while, and my skin needs the help!

Have you managed to buy the Selfridges calendar @AnneShirleysNewDress? I keep looking at it but even though it seems to be available, nothing happens when I click "add to bag". I'm sure the shopping gods are trying to tell me something!

I’m getting daily emails from CB to say the calendar is back in stock (as it was on my wish list) but when I click through it says sorry sold out. Perhaps they and Selfridges haven’t got round to updating things but it is a bit annoying.

@EmmatheStageRat sorry its taken me so long to get round to asking but would you pm me your address for the patchouli perfume? Taking the decorations down today so remembered!

Thank you for the advice and tips last week. I ordered the Look Fantastic calendar and it arrived yesterday.

It looks amazing but Sod's Law I have covid, feel absolutely awful and have zero sense of smell so I can't appreciate it properly ATM. Hopefully I'll feel better soon and my sense of smell will return.

My illuminating serum arrived yesterday. Now just need to see if it will illuminate!

Hope it's nice serum. Suppose I can't complain since I now have a 'free' calendar due to them running out of the serum. Didn't quite expect that level of refund!

They’ve not offered me anything apart from “I can send it back for a refund, and here’s a list of the contents”
I’ll never order anything from them again!

Their customer service appears to be '(un)luck of the draw' based on this thread... bonkers!
