I am hoping some other people say "oh once a week" but gloomily prepared for EVERYONE to say daily

it seems such a waste of time

Every day in the shower. I have fine hair that gets greasy quickly

CountessDracula · 21/01/2008 12:33

about every 5 days
I have dry hair, if i do more often it gets very dry

It doesn't look greasy at all

fullmoonfiend · 21/01/2008 12:35

F&Z, depends on the time of the month...
And the weather!

I do mine a couple of times a week. And mine is long and thick. But if I do it everyday, it rapidly goes lifeless and coarse.

Lush chamomile shampoo bar is great.

tasjaSAmuminUK · 21/01/2008 12:36

Every day, have short hair, so if I don't wash it it has it's own mind and stands in all 4 wind directions

tarantula · 21/01/2008 12:37

Once a week generally on a Sat unless somethign special is going on towards teh end of the week in which case I might make an effort and wash it early but only if it looks greasy.

CatIsSleepy · 21/01/2008 12:39

same as CD for the same reasons...
and it usually looks crap when just washed, looks much better after a couple of days
and when I was pg it was even drier so I only washed it every 7 or 8 days
which was good as I hate the whole palaver and am a lazy arse (have too much too thick hair)

Niecie · 21/01/2008 12:41

I do mine every other day. If I do it every day it goes all flyaway and dull. Hairdressers have said not to wash every day which is good enough for me!

If I don't wash on the third day though it looks very flat and dirty.

My mum only washes once a week but she has very thick hair and it doesn't look dirty to me so why do it more often?

bohemianbint · 21/01/2008 12:42

twice a week!

Eliza2 · 21/01/2008 12:42

Every two or three days. If it looks horrid I wear a cap to go out in. But I work from home.

bossykate · 21/01/2008 12:43

oh i knew i would regret opening this thread! every day. looks dirty otherwise.

interstellar · 21/01/2008 12:46

once a week, have thick hair, past shoulders, looks bad th eday it is washed but settles down ,day 2,3,4 looks lovely, day 5 fringe wash and up in a pony tail, fine til day 7.It honestly never looks greasy or dirty, nor does it feel it.If i was to go somewhere smoky i would obvs wash it.

nappyaddict · 21/01/2008 12:57

CD - i looked on your profile to see what your hair is like. is it like it is on that virtual model thing cos if so mine is very similar and i can get away with about 4 days.

catissleepy - your dd is gorgeous!! what does your hair look like?

interstellar - do you wear it in a ponytail day 5+ cos it's too greasy too wear down? i would love to wash my hair less often cos i hate detangling it but i also hate wearing my hair up.

Idobelieveinfairies · 21/01/2008 13:02

every other day....wash day i wear it down for 10 mins before it gets on my nerves. should get it cut short really.

Every day. I just do it in the shower in the morning. No hassle at all. Towel dry and scrubble some 'product' into it

TheMadHouse · 21/01/2008 14:42

Twice a week - I have frizy hair. So only do it as little as I can get away with.

Dottydot · 21/01/2008 14:43

Every day. Feel all yucky and unclean if I don't!

FrannyandZooey · 21/01/2008 15:15

themoon, someone who cleaned their oven a mere 18 months ago is no slattern in my book

OP posts:
Scampmum · 21/01/2008 15:22

F&Z about the oven: ever = domestic goddess.

Wash my hair every 2-3 days. Wash DD's (21 mo) anywhere from fortnightly to monthly! Just don't see the point in getting it used to being washed more often. Always looks beautiful and is pretty curly so maybe that makes a difference?

Scampmum · 21/01/2008 15:23

ps also have shower every other day. more often if exercising but currently pg, crippled by SPD and too lazy to moisturise bump all time as would need to if washed every day.

Come and bow at my slatternly altar (if you can find any space).

carmenelectra · 21/01/2008 15:26

Washed mine yesterday and looks a right state today. Mainly due to the fact it needs cutting/colouring, but also due to the crap weather. It really doesnt do me any favours.

Cant wait till Monday to get it cut.

ConfusedMover · 21/01/2008 15:28

Everyday, it's so fine I need to blow dry it to get any body/shape

Scampmum · 21/01/2008 15:30

Don't know if this is threadrot but I also only brush my hair about once a month.

(Retrospectively contemplates namechange...)

JaneHH · 21/01/2008 15:31

F'n'Z I'm with you on this - once a week. It's such a drag otherwise (takes me about an hour ) and if I had to wash it every day I'd be either late for work every day or up at 5. Sleep? Hairwash? Sleep? Hairwash? mmhh sleeeeeep
