How often do you all wash your hair?

I am hoping some other people say "oh once a week" but gloomily prepared for EVERYONE to say daily

it seems such a waste of time

I used to do it every day but for the last couple of years it's got much drier & I only do it every 4-5 days - there are some compensations to getting older!

discoverlife · 20/01/2008 21:05

Day one I wash hair.
Day two I leave it,
day three I rinse with clean water under the shower but no shampoo.
Day four I wash and condition again.
It all changes if I have a mucky job or get really sweaty.

Once a week to nine days. It gets brushed when I can find a brush. It is long and up in a bun always so as I dont have to look at it. Not so much a crowning glory, rather a warm hat.

Every day. I know it's too often really (I have long natural curls - that said, they are GOING on Tuesday because ds1 chews them and ds2 pulls on them) but I have a thing about needing to go to bed with clean hair.

Cappuccino · 20/01/2008 21:09

every other day

I know what you mean Franny about washing leading to washing; however my mother used to only let me wash my hair every five days when I was younger, and it would get really greasy, so she would say 'oh it is greasy like mine' and perm it with a Toni home perm

she still perms her hair because she says 'it is greasy' but that's because she washes it every 5 days. It is fine the first 2

Hulababy · 20/01/2008 21:10

I wash and condition my hair every day. My hair feels horrid otherwise.

Quattrocento · 20/01/2008 21:11

every two days, occasionally make it three but feel a bit manky if I do

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/01/2008 21:16

Every day, because it sticks out and looks shit otherwise, and I have a sweaty head .

Minum · 20/01/2008 21:21

I used to be a daily, but I'm trying to work on becoming a weekly - the problem was greasy at the front, and itchy with yucky bits at the back - but since I've chopped and changed shampoos, made more of an effort to rinse it really well, and left well alone, its got lots better, so its more or less OK for 3 or 4 days.

I want to save time, save hot water and shampoo, and get ready for minimal washing when camping in the summer.

sorry franny, daily

twice today as i had an urge to run (ha)

carmenelectra · 20/01/2008 21:23

Every other day and usually the second day i wear it in aponytail as it doesnt look as nice as freshly washed. At the min though, im doing it everyday cos it desperately needs cutting.

FrayedKnot · 20/01/2008 21:28

Why on earth would someone who has straight hair, need to use straighteners?

carmenelectra · 20/01/2008 21:35

To make it more sleek?

FrannyandZooey · 20/01/2008 21:39

to make it very straight as is the fashion

millions of women out there using straighteners on non curly hair FK

it is a bit mad

princessmel · 20/01/2008 21:39

Every other day. Same as most people I think.

unknownrebelbang · 20/01/2008 21:40

Every other day, occasionally stretching to the third day, although it's not great by the then.

Managed to stretch it to four last weekend, but only cos I wasn't going out. It looked vile and it itched.
