Yes was looking at the new collection @MrsCat1 some lovely things in it.

I have been looking at Scout for a while now @ScottishMouse and following on Instagram. Theoretically it’s relatively handy for me but the Euro prices are frightening making it not a practical option. It would be lovely to be able to try things on though. They have some other lovely things from other places too.

That blue cord Dress looks interesting. The scarf reminds me of one from Zara from quite a few years ago.

faustina · 03/08/2022 15:16

That dress is LOVELY @ScottishMouse . not 100% sure about the colour (for me) but they usually do a couple of colours for each dress don't they

ScottishMouse · 03/08/2022 15:19

Exactly what I thought @faustina. I’m not sure about the colour for me, but I love the style, and I expect there would be another colour or two.

neveradullmoment99 · 03/08/2022 20:32

Well bit the bullet and ordered the tunic. It arrived yesterday in a 12. Huge. Believe me, I am a 14 and it just felt massive everywhere so its being returned.
Its a gorgeous blue. Well made and fab pockets. I love the neckline. The only thing I don't like is the side split. They kind of stick out at the sides. They look a bit weird.
Anway, re-ordered the 10 to see if its better. It came today. [ Just bit the bullet on next day delivery as I am so tired of waiting days for dispatch] Its so much better all over. The bits at the sides still stick out but hoping that this will be less so with wear. Apart from the stick out sid events, I love it.

My only issue is what 'bottoms' to wear with it. I must admit, I had some denim slim crops on and it looked good, even though I am not a fan of double denim.

@neveradullmoment99 and anyone else interested in the tunic- if you're on Instagram, follow irishgirlinglasgow as she has bought that tunic and has styled it different ways.

neveradullmoment99 · 03/08/2022 22:43

Thanks for that. I liked how she has paired it with a print skirt. May try it with a skirt to see if it works for me :) Thank you.

@neveradullmoment99 - my tunic is waiting for me at the post office. I am a 12-14 and ordered a 10 so fingers crossed the size works. I will find out today.

@AFingerofFudge - thanks

what would you wear on top of the tunic when it gets colder? I always have this problem with my cotton linen smock from Toast

I would go with thin merino under rather than over and a big scarf, although actually depending on how tall you are the Kantha jacket seems to work.
Im dithering over a couple of things but holding off in case some lovely new things arrive.
I made it to Edinburgh Toast last week but again a very autumnal palette and so so quiet.
Dicks next door is a must if you like beautiful knitwear.
Came away with a gorgeous fairisle.

Is anyoneone else totally over summer?
Im down a knitwear rabbit hole on Ravelry, merrily ordering yarn for various autumn/ winter projects 🍁🍂🍊

AFingerofFudge · 04/08/2022 09:59

I'm also definitely off summer, although I'm slightly ashamed to admit that it's because I'm carrying a lot of extra weight at the moment (was a stone lighter this time last year and even then I had a stone to lose) and so much prefer the idea of covering myself up Blush
Honestly, if you knew me in RL you would be shocked because I always try to live with a kind of "I am who I am" attitude. But at the minute I'm not enjoying being fat!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 04/08/2022 10:33

@AFingerofFudge I follow irishgirlinglasgow but hadn't been on Instagram lately, the tunic looks really good on her and certainly fits with her 'look' . Still don't think it's one for me (reminds me of some of my boden tunics from my pre-Toast days) but I'm interested in how it's being styled.

I'm still trying to enjoy summer, I want to get my moneys worth out of my shorts and wear my summer dresses more. Also I can't wear wool so I'm envious of all the lovely knitwear you'll all be wearing.

Laska2Meryls · 04/08/2022 11:37

Yes I am loving summer also.... But my jute gabis arrived , ( and ate indeed The Ones) so those will be fab going into autumn ... Too hot here atm for them .. however I am not complaining..

faustina · 04/08/2022 12:14

Still hot hot hot here - where I'm staying and at home, so wearing three pairs of shorts (Cosx2 and a very old Gap pair) on repeat. I also did some digging in my hot places box and have been wearing some incredibly ancient Ghost tops. They must be almost 20 years old but are as good as new. I am trying to find The Right Chelsea Boots, but it feels very odd trying them on. Stuck between Solovair and Blundstone

TheChattyRat · 04/08/2022 16:10

Hello, yes I’m still enjoying summer and making the most of easy dressing. It will be over soon enough 😞
@faustina i like both Solovair and blundestone so can’t help you there!
@dudsville i forgot to thank you for the info on the pleated indigo trousers - I took a punt on a pair on eBay (as grumpy that the price had gone up on the toast website) and I really like them.
@neveradullmoment99 sounds like the tunic has been a good purchase. I’ve just bought the workwear denim skirt that is worn with the tunic on the website (though I don’t like them worn together at all). Will report back!
I have little willpower but I really want to have a shopping break for the rest of the year. Excepting a toast archive sale of course 😉

faustina · 04/08/2022 16:23

@TheChattyRat I already have some brown blundstone which I love, though they're slightly higher on the ankle than the regular Blundstones - and I want something black this year. I tried one pair of Solovair dealer boots (via TKMaxx) but they had a weird kind of crease in them halfway up the foot so am waiting for another pair to arrive

faustina · 04/08/2022 16:24

Please do show us the skirt when it arrives. I have my eye on it too!

ScottishMouse · 04/08/2022 17:21

@TempleofZoom Dicks is so great! Most of the prices make Toast’s look like an absolutely bargain, but those Harley sweaters are a great buy. I see they have a sale at the moment so might pop in this weekend.

Stoic123 · 04/08/2022 22:08

Finally picked up the workwear tunic and I like it. Would slightly prefer a slightly lower cut neckline but that is the only quibble. This is a size 10 on a 12-14 high street body.

Looks fantastic on you @Stoic123
Love it with your neutral trousers. Looks very good.
What do you think about the side vents? They seem to look less sticky out on you.

OP posts:
Stoic123 · 04/08/2022 23:27

Thanks @neveradullmoment99 . Not too bad on the side vents - they do stick out a little but I have quite wide hips so that may help fill out shape?

I think vents might also become less prominent with washing/as fabric wears down a little.

This is my thought too regarding washing it. Hoping the vents flatten a bit.
I find the tunic has an unpleasant smell. Assume it's the dying process.

@Stoic123 - that looks lovely. I'm sure I've asked before, but how tall are you?

Stoic123 · 05/08/2022 07:54

@faustina Thanks- I'm 5'7"
