So, I just went tot computer I was on yesterday where I'd put the dungarees in my shopping basket, they were not in the sale and they were £150, today they're £185, and when I clicked again on my basket they'd been deleted!!!!!

Wowzer! I have the Jessa dungarees in denim and black, both bought in JL sales. You are right that the dungarees were still popping up on my MN/Toast ad feeds at £150 as late as this week. A £35 increase is mega; have they got tubs of Lurpak sewn into their hems, or something?! I did observe that the dungarees are now described as organic, so could that be the reason? Maybe the non-organic versions will pop up in the next Toast sale?

ScottishMouse · 16/07/2022 19:24

I tried both those dresses today too @Saurus72 ! Although I tried the first one in the liquorice colour. The liquorice one fitted well in my normal size small, but the colour was not that nice - I was hoping it would be a true grey but it is slightly brown or purplish or something. A bit of a warm grey, and I didn’t like that.
The check dress did nothing for me. The large check was overwhelming as I am short, and the colour of the lighter squares was more beige than grey which doesn’t work for me.
I also tried the embroidered kaftan dress, although I had no intention of buying it at that price. It is beautiful. But I was between sizes, which is excellent news, as I won’t be lusting after it all season.
Nothing else at all caught my eye. The colours are not that inspiring.

Saurus72 · 16/07/2022 19:47

@ScottishMouse I know what you mean about nothing else appealing, I felt the same. It’s funny what you say about the slightly brown grey - I also saw this dress that I thought I might like, but it seemed to have a strange grey-brown tone to it when I was expecting a cornflower blue. My payday purchase this month is going to be the slate linen pinafore - a substantial investment but I can see myself wearing it loads, plus I’ve been thinking about it for a year 🙄

Countmeout · 16/07/2022 19:57

Totally excited for you @applecatchers36 . I hope you get to go.

I like the check dress on you @Saurus72 much better than it looked on Instagram.
it does say it’s very big fitting.

sorry the tank didn’t work for you @dudsville .

ScottishMouse · 16/07/2022 20:00

That pinafore is fabulous @Saurus72 . I ordered it recently, but in the end I sent it back as I couldn’t justify the price. And I also wanted to keep the painted patchwork robe from the sale and definitely couldn’t take justify both.
i imagine I might reorder at some point though, as it was perfect.

Saurus72 · 16/07/2022 20:15

@ScottishMouse I think I’ve been hesitant because although I know I’d wear it loads, it’s a pretty ‘quiet’ piece, and tbh I’d feel more inclined to spend that much money on a beautiful statement dress. But that’s ridiculous because I know it makes most sense to spend the most on what you wear the most. If it were £50 less I don’t think I’d have hesitated at all 🤷‍♀️

ScottishMouse · 16/07/2022 20:20

Yes, totally agree with this @Saurus72. The embroidered kaftan dress I tried today is £275, which is far too much for me to spend, but I would have bought it at the £195 that the pinafore is (if it had fitted). But I would have got far less wear from it. The pinafore will work in all seasons and could be paired and layered with many things, which makes it a much better investment.
I think I have just convinced myself to reorder it next payday!

faustina · 16/07/2022 20:34

@Saurus72 - however did you manage to try anything on in that tiny changing room and not melt? That is true dedication

@ScottishMouse - I loved that embroidered dress too, but it's way out of my budget for something I'd rarely wear (not a very dress person)

@applecatchers36 - well done for being picked - no pressure, but I hope you realise you have to represent the thread now? Could you please ask them to reinstate the new season discount for loyal toast customers? Hope you manage to make it, and report back - oh also could you please tell them to get a less London-centric panel together next time, even if only via zoom

Snowyowl78 · 17/07/2022 07:35

I went to a real shop yesterday! Exciting. I picked up the space check shorts which are perfect, better than expected, also also a checked pair or wide cashmere/cotton trousers in the sale that I’d never seen before! Tried on the Grapefruit shirt/jacket, also perfect but had to reel it in as my partner was gawping at prices. Might go back for it tomorrow. Was unexpectedly textured as is the blue version.

dudsville · 17/07/2022 07:36

Happy Last Day of Sale everyone!

Anyone doing any last dips? I had a look and was tempted by the return of the orange neat sweater but decided against it.

Any sale favourites? I've enjoyed the nighties, like another poster this is my first foray into toast nightwear, otherwise I'd say everything that I've bought is a new favourite. I had a sizeable budget for this sale and that was fun. I'm considering a new way forward in terms of shopping, there's nothing i need but i enjoy shopping, so I'm considering stopping browsing multiple places and only purchase at toast sales. I wonder what that would be like, especially as i don't fancy much in this current season, but they seem to always put in some old stock and things I wouldn't have initially considered (like the navy and green check nightie) that i then absolutely love.

dudsville · 17/07/2022 07:37

Oooh, can we see a pic of the trousers @Snowyowl78 ?

Laska2Meryls · 17/07/2022 08:31

Uniqlo linen shirt
I bought this Uniqlo linen shirt yesterday (in a real shop, get me!) And really recommend it.. Its lovely quality, and has french seams unlike a lot of cheaper linen.. I sized up because I wanted a loose fit (went for L would usually take a high st 14 -.)
I chose the orange which is lovely, but the light grey is gorgeous also .. its a nice length and longer at the back .. definitely worth a go, id say

..... And they have a brown for those of you who are not getting enough brown with Toast 😂

CotswoldWoolly · 17/07/2022 08:43

@Saurus72 I have that dress in the other colour, and had to size down from my usual L. It’s the placement of the tie i think. That and the fit across the shoulders, which was far too big.

NoCureForLove · 17/07/2022 08:47

Just one last thing... 😀

Laska2Meryls · 17/07/2022 08:51

My sale favourite has to be the red embroidered kimono jacket which sold out on day 1 ... But I am also really pleased with the Slate shirt/jacket and the rust striped Emma which I liked all along but wasn't paying £85 for..
I reordered the Avery Scarf which I liked previously but returned but as its reduced more since....
I haven't really looked at any of the new stuff properly..

dudsville · 17/07/2022 09:14

I like that jumpsuit @NoCureForLove!

That red jacket was a really special item @Laska2Meryls. I did wish i could see it fitting in my wardrobe!

Snowyowl78 · 17/07/2022 09:16

@dudsville yeah sure I will take a pic in a bit. I was surprised I had never seen them before, maybe they’re super old! It was Kilver Court.

Snowyowl78 · 17/07/2022 09:17

Just had a slip of the hand and ordered the Grapefruit shirt

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 17/07/2022 09:25

I bought the space check shorts at the beginning of the year @Snowyowl78 , I felt as if I was never going to get them out of my wardrobe, but I’ve worn them loads over the last two weeks, they’re so comfortable.

Loving the look of the uniqlo shirt @Laska2Meryls , not so keen on the colours, although must confess I did look at the brown Blush.

Trying not to look at the sale again - I think my favourite purchase was the trivet Grin , although I’ve also worn the moss trousers loads.

Snowyowl78 · 17/07/2022 09:28

@Theteapotsbrokenspout they are soooo comfy. I wore them last night.

Snowyowl78 · 17/07/2022 09:29

@Theteapotsbrokenspout Theyre also big aren’t they! I bought the S, which I wore with a Toast Large linen tshirt!

Stoic123 · 17/07/2022 09:31

Morning.

A final sales purchase of a circular tee in pebble white (as I bought the coal and have been wearing loads). I also bought a couple more wheatbags to replace ones I bought for presents (the original ones will be on rotating neck cooling/ freezer duty over the next two days).

My favourite sales puchases have been the sweaters (red-orange neat and greeny lace yoke).

It's been a long (and expensive) sales for me. Very little appeals so far in the new season so bank account will have time to recover.

To anyone hesitating about slate pinafore - go for it. It's not glamorous but I wore mine again last night and it never fails to make me feel good. I also wear it all year round. I am thinking about buying another one to keep in reserve for when, ineveitably, the first one wears out.

Laska2Meryls · 17/07/2022 09:37

I wasn't sure where it would fit in mine, @dudsville , but I knew that I had to have it! It looks fab with the black coffee balloon trousers ( one of the few things that I bought full price earlier) and a dark vest ot tee and also with a long navy dress under..I am sure that it will be something I shall wear for years...

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 17/07/2022 09:40

@Snowyowl78 I bought them in a M , I’m glad I did as I’m going through a phase of hating anything tight across my middle.
