New thread for us all to continue the Toast love ...

Ah, in purchasing that blouse yesterday I've now looked at the new stuff, something I try to avoid doing. I'm looking at the heathery wool sweater in burnt orange. "Autume Me" seems to be feeling a little left out ...

I've got to go do my wardrobe now, and I hope that in doing so I realise this is simply my old bad shopping habit rearing it's nicely-dressed head again.

Laska2Meryls · 10/07/2022 11:01

Today, in my quest to channel 1950s American Men's summer beachwear, I am wearing the Areca PJ top from last summer ( the one with the palm trees and birds ) ..and long shorts again...
So far those who have commented have given the seal of approval .. ( or have been too polite to laugh much....😂)
Its baking hot here, even by the sea..

I wear the Areca pj trousers a lot at home but this is the shirt's first outing.. I dont think id ever wear them together.. ( or possibly the trousers outside the house , but who knows, ? I am also trying to wear my Toast stuff every day ..

I'm enjoying your descriptions of your outfits @Laska2Meryls ! I too can really go for some 1950's looks! Also mostly the dark academia, mid century generally, which includes how I've decorated my house.

I've done my wardrobe clear out. I was surprised at how much I can let go of, but I think my Toast shopping has really altered my style so significantly, and although I started down this road before the pandemic, there's a lot I used to enjoy wearing at work that I don't see me returning to. That heavy denim toast wrap dress has been brought down to see if I can remove some weight by turning it into a pinafore. I don't relish sewing such heavy denim but it will be a last ditch to see if transforming it means I wear it more.

The result of the clearout is that the jumper I covet, shall remain coveted and I'll await the next sale.

Countmeout · 10/07/2022 13:09

Thanks for all the tank love. Really chuffed with it.

I didn’t think I was a shirt wearer either @faustina but seem to have bought a few this year.

it was disappointing the shirt didn’t go in the sale @dudsville . I’d have liked the blue one too as it’s a great shirt with jeans, but it’s currently sold out in my size.

i think I’ve inadvertently got into the brown palette by dying my dress orange, the darker grey bits have turned brown. Will post pics if I can.

disappointed in the big check dress after seeing it on someone on Instagram, I had thought it might be an Autumn buy.

lovely descriptions @Laska2Meryls , and envious of your weather.

Countmeout · 10/07/2022 13:13

Dyed dress. Can’t remember what this one was called. Think it’s better than grey for me.
also dyed this 4 year old Zara dress which is now exactly the colour I hope - was grey too (must stop buying grey) now looks slightly Toastish (in my head at least)
Thanks to @Laska2Meryls for the dying advice. The thread is still grey but hardly noticeable.

They look great @Countmeout, especially the Toast one. I remember trying that one on and the colour being a bit draining. Looks like it turned out really well.

faustina · 10/07/2022 13:33

@Countmeout - the colour of your 'new' dresses is wonderful!

I also saw that instagram pic and was very disappointed. Also the orange tie front dress doesn't look great (though I didn't' think much of it to start with)

@Laska2Meryls - very jealous you live so near a beach. I will raise your pyjamas not pyjamas with one of my very old hush seaside only black sundresses that looks like a nightie - mind you I'm not going anywhere further than the beanbag in my garden with it on!

dudsville · 10/07/2022 13:54

You're on a roll @Countmeout , you should buy a lottery ticket! Those dresses look fab.

Stoic123 · 10/07/2022 16:23

@Snowyowl78 - no information about sizing but Toast Marlow poted some pictures of that dress on Insta and it looks really nice.

Nanasueathome · 10/07/2022 17:39

Saurus72 · 07/07/2022 17:37

Ooooh but lookit!

I think I may need that dress

AFingerofFudge · 10/07/2022 18:21

If anyone is on Instagram there is a picture of the tie neck fluid dress on the Toast Islington page. It suddenly looks more attractive!

CotswoldWoolly · 10/07/2022 19:51

I have the tie neck fluid dress in green - it’s lovely on.

AFingerofFudge · 11/07/2022 08:14

@CotswoldWoolly I'd love to see a picture of it if you were happy to put one up. So often on here you get a better sense of how a garment is.

CotswoldWoolly · 11/07/2022 08:19

Apologies @AFingerofFudge, I don’t post photos of self/family online. But the photo Toast Islington posted on IG is pretty bang on. I’ve a similarly shaped dress from a previous season ( not got a necktie, and is gauzy), and that hangs beautifully too.

AFingerofFudge · 11/07/2022 09:34

No worries @CotswoldWoolly - I hadn't actually like the green one until that post appeared on Instagram. On the Toast website it looks like a duller green.

Snowyowl78 · 11/07/2022 10:34

@Stoic123 thanks for the tip!

Snowyowl78 · 11/07/2022 11:14

Have people seen this:

ScottishMouse · 11/07/2022 11:17

I saw that @Snowyowl78 , but sadly I will be away for all those dates. A £150 voucher would be nice!!

ScottishMouse · 11/07/2022 11:21

Was someone looking for the bud check dress? There are a few sizes back in stock.

Snowyowl78 · 11/07/2022 11:34

@ScottishMouse I’ve entered, fingers crossed! Sounds like a focus group which I’ve done a few of before.

NoCureForLove · 11/07/2022 11:51

Entered too! Exciting!

pamshortsbrokenbothherlegs · 11/07/2022 12:36

A Toast focus group (with shopping allowance) sounds the dream! Unfortunately Fridays are my day with my baby and the other days we're on holiday. I hope some of you get in!

faustina · 11/07/2022 14:23

Thanks @Snowyowl78 - I've entered too! Plenty to say about Toast!

ScottishMouse · 11/07/2022 17:48

My final (surely?!) sale purchase arrived today and is going straight back - the Uri Rosa basket. I liked the quirky shape, but that is all I liked. The straps and rings attaching them looked kind of cheap, the lining ties shut but means you can’t store much in the bag at all, but the worst thing was how heavy it is. Completely empty it weighs more than my usual bag does when I have an iPad, a book, and all my other junk in it. Just totally impractical really. Which is a good thing as it was £145 in the sale, I’m not sure what I was thinking!
