@dudsville, if they had sale stock in store it would save a lot of deliveries and returns for me.

Scabetty · 03/07/2022 17:23

Has anyone bought the mohinder slides - just wondering as reviews aren’t great but they look perfect 😍😁

dudsville · 03/07/2022 17:30

Agreed @ScottishMouse , imagine being able to go in and just try on everything and have one event and be done with it.

I just tried those trousers on again. I like them but am off them because of weight gain, which has nothing to do with 90s tv shows.

I like the look of those mohinder slides too @Scabetty . If you get them do report back!

Scabetty · 03/07/2022 17:51

@dudsville going to give them a go one size up from my usual and see how they go. I’ll update 😁

SmaugMum · 03/07/2022 18:40

Excuse the appalling state of the mirror/me but these check trousers- yay or nay?? I'm not sure whether they're even pyjamas or daytime trousers but if I keep them, it will be to wear out and about. Any opinions welcome!

NoCureForLove · 04/07/2022 07:56

Not a huge fan Fudge... though I'm all for comfort and they do look v comfy...

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 04/07/2022 08:19

Think it might depend on the outfit as a whole @AFingerofFudge .

ScottishMouse · 04/07/2022 08:23

I sent mine back @AFingerofFudge for much the same reason. They were super comfy but I didn’t think I would wear them much except around the house as they were a bit baggy on the bum and too pyjama-like. But others have had better success with them I think.

ScottishMouse · 04/07/2022 08:34

Just got a dispatch note for my first weekend order. Annoyingly, I paid for next day delivery so that I would have time to hold onto the gingham shirt I bought at £80 just in case there was a problem with the one bought at £65, and still have time to return. But it must have sold out because it’s not in the dispatch note. Annoying.

dudsville · 04/07/2022 09:48

I think they do look like pj bottoms in this pic @AFingerofFudge . I think they look like very casual day wear on me. I might be deluded though.

That's very annoying @ScottishMouse ! When does your return window close? Could you register the return? It's no big deal of you then don't send it.

What size are you after in the shirt @ScottishMouse ? I did the same as you (ordered again as cheaper, still haven't sent back my £80 one yet) and I bought two to be doubly sure on the size. I may have a spare going when they arrive later today! 😆

ScottishMouse · 04/07/2022 10:01

Ha ha! That is the kind of thing I do @pamshortsbrokenbothherlegs ! I actually bought two at £80 because when I tried it earlier in the season the first one I tried the collar was a bit askew. And what do you know…one of the ones I got in that order is about an inch wider and the sleeves an inch longer!
Anyhow, luckily I haven’t sent them back yet, so I do still have one, I just would have liked to have got it for £15 less, plus I wouldn’t have paid for next day delivery for the other things in the order. I guess it serves me right for trying to save £15. I would actually only have saved £8, and I have now paid £7 more instead 🙄

AFingerofFudge · 04/07/2022 10:03

Well I'd like to say I took advice from you all Grin but here is me in town right now in my new checked trousers.
I actually totally fell in love with the fabric and the feel of them rather than the look! They remind me of a soft woven hammam towel and I can't stop touching them.
Even if I look like I'm in my pyjamas at least I live in a place that is quite eclectic so I won't be too out of place!!

dudsville · 04/07/2022 10:30

Great pic @AFingerofFudge ! Funnily enough, i was wearing a toast skirt this morning but bloated up after breakfast so now I'm in the check trousers too! My final (please actually be final) sales purchases to arrive today. Thankfully toast have finally taken the sold out bud check dress off their site so i can finally stand down.

couldhavegonethen · 04/07/2022 11:25

I’ve just placed an order for the cedar check cotton dress £60 in the sale and the pleated collar stripe shirt from the new collection. I’m keeping my eye out for a size 8 return on the vale circle dress. I’m happy with the 10 but would like to try the 8. I’m realising that it’s probably best to order two sizes if I’m unsure of the fit!

Countmeout · 04/07/2022 12:28

That’s very annoying @ScottishMouse .
mine arrived a day early this morning. Pleasantly surprised to find it’s not so oversized in the collar as I expected nor as stiff. It will go with quite a few things I have but is a winter item for me as it’s so dark.

ScottishMouse · 04/07/2022 12:47

A day early, that is a nice surprise @Countmeout ! How do you plan on wearing the shirt? I tried it on with a couple of cardigans but it didn’t actually look that great. Better with a plain round neck sweater, but I’m feeling it doesn’t go with as many things as I thought it would.

ilovecherries · 04/07/2022 12:52

My square collar sailor dress thing arrived today but I’m a bit blah - but not sure if that because we have covid in the house and despite currently testing negative I’m also feeling really unwell. I may always now see it as ‘that covid dress’!

pamshortsbrokenbothherlegs · 04/07/2022 13:21

@ScottishMouse @Countmeout

I plan on wearing mine without a layer on top, as I agree it seems to fit best with a round-neck sweater and I'm currently lacking one in my wardrobe! May have to remedy that home winter.

Otherwise tucked into high-waist jeans or trousers, or my midi a-line leather skirt from Sezane, and also I think it looks quite good under dungarees / jumpsuits, if you're inclined that way. I have a few sleeveless black styles from the likes of Stalf and Beyond Nine that I'll be pairing it with.

Countmeout · 04/07/2022 13:29

I think it will go with dark jeans and navy Gabis @ScottishMouse . Also under my hush tank with both of those. I have a pair of Toast grey trousers I bought on eBay and those should work. Wondering if it might work in a clashing way with the cord skirt but I’ve it packed away for winter currently. It’s less casual looking than I imagined, more fitted, think it might work with dressier navy trousers. I bought my usual size in a Toast blouse.
I’m glad it works for me because very little from the new collection is appealing at the moment . It’s the only thing I’ve kept from the sale so far. I’ve just one item to come, the collared cardigan in that cream shade - missed it in the first round of sale stuff. Not sure I’ve hit on the right size in it though.
Maybe yours will appear yet. In a later dispatch note.

Countmeout · 04/07/2022 13:30

Cross posted @pamshortsbrokenbothherlegs yes I think you’re right

Countmeout · 04/07/2022 15:54

Having had a quick try on while changing into my comfies. It’s annoying with the tank. Can’t be dealing with the collar. However I absolutely love it with a pair of midwash jeans and surprisingly the cream Annies.

ScottishMouse · 04/07/2022 16:14

Yes @Countmeout , they would look great with cream Annie’s (or other cream trousers). Something with a bit of a contrast I think.
