Blimey, don't ever visit dollskill.com, you'd not cope!

If you mean I’d find that fucking creepy too, I’m sure you’re right.

AnyFucker · 13/05/2022 10:09

I don’t assume the bloke is trans. I assume the marketing is meant to celebrate autogynephilia and paedophilia. And that is something I am happy to be “phobic” about.

ToffeeNotCoffee · 13/05/2022 09:35

Fat shaming ?

WTAF. How??

shes not fat
it says inclusive sizing (not 'for whales/elephants)

what are you on about???

there are bizarre adverts for all kinds of things. Why people are singling out this advert god knows.

readytorelax · 13/05/2022 10:11

Oh I didn't realise it was a trans model! I genuinely just thought the pic was grim because it's an adult in children themed clothes.

You are literally missing the point.

Boycotting fucking tights because they use a male model though?

A male model? Where? Surely a non-transphobic person would only see the inner feminine light shine out through the creepy ass clothing, chucky make-up and nursery room back drop ?

You know it's possible to be gender critical and respectful, right?

no, I am sure there are many darker corners of the internet I wouldn't enjoy visiting. I'm not into adults dressing up as little girls, so it's a swerve from me.
I didn't realize snagtights was into that market. The ads I see are always 'chubster women in dresses' which is more my market demographic. I don't really want to support a company that sexualises childhood and children.

HailAdrian · 13/05/2022 10:12

Yeah, what a mystery

FourTeaFallOut · 13/05/2022 10:12

Are you asking me to be respectful of an advert?

LoveSpringDaffs · 13/05/2022 10:13

Toddlerteaplease · 13/05/2022 09:36

I find their adverts off putting full stop. I'm all for body positivity, but if you put an anorexic model there would be an outcry.

So, you're saying she's fat?

FMD she's not fat, & even if she was, what's wrong with an
ovetweight person modelling something that's designed for them?

of should overweight women not grace your screen?!?!

HailAdrian · 13/05/2022 10:13

You are a stranger on the Internet. I'm not asking you to do anything.

buckeejit · 13/05/2022 10:14

Their marketing photos have progressively got a bit weirder over the last couple of years but this is very grim. I was completely their demographic & am a repeat customer but don't think I'll be buying from them again after this. And not because it's a man-they've had men in tights before, that's not the issue.

HailAdrian · 13/05/2022 10:16

*And not because it's a man-they've had men in tights before, that's not the issue.

I dunno if anyone remembers 'the office' but this is very David Brent.

ditavonteesed · 13/05/2022 10:16

Slightly disturbed by some of the opinions on here, I am an adult woman, a mother of 2. I collect vintage my little ponies and have loads of things with Care Bears on, they make me happy. I am not a paedophile. (Also I'm aware I've spelt that wrong but I'm not googling to find out how to spell it) These things make me happy, remind me if my childhood, I don't believe I am a child I am well aware that I am a middle aged woman.

Beefcurtains79 · 13/05/2022 10:16

Why do you care? Women can buy or not buy whatever tights they want, without you calling them names.
I love how you think ‘thick’ is a stupid insult, but then come back with the extremely witty and cutting ‘Boden wearing’. 😂

SolasAnla · 13/05/2022 10:17

Afterfire · 13/05/2022 10:08

A lot of people enjoy collecting toys, dressing up in cos play type clothes etc. It doesn’t make them paedophiles.

And in some countries adults dressing up as children and doing "adult" role play will get the adult enrolled on a sex offenders register.

So that photographer was setting up the advert with a specific target market in mind.

Do you dress as a toddler?

ditavonteesed · 13/05/2022 10:18

@ReadyToMoveIt pretty much, I wear dungarees and brightly coloured tights and multi coloured docs.

MistyFuckingQuigley · 13/05/2022 10:18

It's always in plain sight and when the shit hits the fan people like HailAdrian will be the first to exclaim "but why did no one say anything?!" Here we are, saying something and you are dismissing our concerns in the name of "inclusivity" and putting men and their fetishes first. You should try getting a fucking grip.

Yep this sums it up for me too. And I'm sure they won't be gutted about a boycott from me but as one of the people who bought vouchers from them to help keep the company in business when they were struggling. I will be telling them no thank you if the same is requested again.

Exactly. Lots of shops sell kids type stuff for adults. There are Care Bears t shirts in Asda at the moment.

hepaticanobilis · 13/05/2022 10:19

I genuinely really love their tights, but only the solid colours and very subtle patterns (like the black tights with a wavy sort of a pattern). I'm a short size 12/14 and the sizing works so much better than any generic supermarket sizing.

I don't generally mind children's patterns on some adult clothing either, but the way Snag does them is very different from how M&S would do adult pyjamas with Disney characters, or something.

I don't have a problem with men wearing tights either, they are just clothes after all...

But I do find the way Snag promotes a very specific fetish type culture quite gross, and not something I want to see on my social media feeds. I joined their official Facebook group at some point and at least 20% of the posters seemed to be there to share photos of themselves in very erotic poses, including lots of men. Which is cool if that's your thing, but it's not mine. They are trying to be a mainstream fashion company at the same time as being a fetish brand and that doesn't really work.

I actually said 'generic Boden shite' and it's not an insult. 'Generic middle class parent' is a strong look...

Looking at the image and the toy placement do you get a "good" child hood memory vibe?

Do you think the image says carefree fun and playing with a childs toy?

dworky · 13/05/2022 10:21

Just more male fetish entitlement. I hope women see it for what it is & spend their money elsewhere.
