Thank you for the new thread! Re-posting this from the last one:
Hi everyone! Couldn't post for ages due to the bloomin' update...back now with a slight namechange! I've missed lots. On Gustav and Carina, it's great that they're finally able to marry. As pp said it definitely wasn't just about a courtesy title - it had to do with inheriting a considerable family fortune; somewhere in the region of £500,000,000 IIRC. Anyway I expect they're thrilled that it's all over now and they can move on. They're getting married at Berleburg Castle, I think.
The turquoise and diamond earrings that CPM wore to Isabella's confirmation were part of her very special 50th birthday gift from Queen Margrethe, along with a turquoise brooch. Both of these belonged to Catherine the Great of Russia and have been passed down through the years, finally ending up with Crown Princess Margaret (Ingrid's mother) and presumably were then given to Margrethe, or inherited on Ingrid's death.
Amongst other instances, Queen Margrethe has worn the jewels on several important occasions: Anne-Marie's wedding in 1964, Haakon and Mette-Marit's wedding in 2001, Prince Henrik's birthday in 2009, as well as at a gala dinner for the Chinese State Visit in 2012.

Checking in. Crown on.
I've just put up my Jubilee bunting that a colleague made for me.
We will have outfits galore this month followed by Ascot!

Thank you, @NiqueNique - some beautiful pieces. I've never been a fan of turquoise jewellery, but those earrings and brooches are lovely. Of course Daisy has a gorgeous turquoise dress to match!

Someone needs to intercept Sophie's suitcase at Heathrow and absent those tour shoes.
Maireas · 02/05/2022 12:20
I'm wondering if Sophie has feet like me - I can't cope with uncomfortable shoes and my feet swell in the heat. Most unattractive and annoying. Especially when I look at Kate, Meghan, Leti, CPM, SWP etc who manage to wear elegant shoes whatever the terrain and climate.

I wonder if there will be a balcony appearance by a certain family...
GrouchyKiwi · 02/05/2022 13:27
Loving the new threads, very stylish.

@NiqueNique
Are you saying that Gustav inherited €500 million ???
NiqueNique · 02/05/2022 14:04
I'd have to check it...but I think that's the figure I read somewhere at some point. I've not got insider knowledge or anything so don't put too much stock in what i say! It also obviously includes land, property (castle and so on!), artworks and precious antiquities as well, so I've no idea of how much of the fortune was/is in actual cash IYSWIM.
LadyEloise10 · 02/05/2022 14:20
@NiqueNique
I went down a Gustav Google rabbit hole and on Wiki it says his marriage to another woman "fell through reportedly due to financial issues with the bride's family".
!!!!!
NiqueNique · 02/05/2022 14:27
@LadyEloise10 apparently there was a dispute in regards to prenup - her father demanded a huge amount of money in case of divorce or something like that, and an agreement that satisfied both families could not be reached.
NiqueNique · 02/05/2022 14:30
However I don't know much about it so I don't know if the terms were unfavourable toward her in case of a dissolution of marriage at some point. I do think it should be fair to the woman...
NiqueNique · 02/05/2022 14:43
Hmmm I've had a quick look and the only estimate of the value of the estate (and no way of verifying it) I can find is 250,000,000 Euros. These things aren't always so easy to pin down!
SenecaFallsRedux · 02/05/2022 14:48
(castle and so on!)
Which is this modest abode that has been in the family for more than seven centuries.

NiqueNique · 02/05/2022 14:59
@SenecaFallsRedux Yes, quite. Nothing quite like a modest castle.😄
