@Iamthewombat

Oh, you think that nobody will judge you by what you wear? Big mistake. Big. Huge (see what I did there?)
Are you OK. Do you need a hug. you have posted multiple similar comments. I dont know anyone that would judge an adult for the backpack they carry. Do you need some nicer friends??
LizzieMacQueen · 15/03/2022 22:16

I've got a tintin pencilcase and I'm in my 50s. Admittedly it was bought for my son but I got it when he grew too old for it.

Misty78 · 15/03/2022 22:28

Bollocks are you to old!! We spend more time as "adults" than we do as kids, so as far as I'm concerned I'm tipping it on its head, I'll spend my last 18 years as an adult and the rest as a teenager, I dont want to grow old being boring and not seeing the fun in everything, we get 1 life!! Buy the bag!!! I've got my eye on the vampire stitch one and I'm only 44 🙂🙂

JenniferWooley · 15/03/2022 22:47

I wouldn't get the bags because I'd never use a backpack type bag, the bambi wallet on the other hand is fab & I'd use that without giving a single solitary fuck what anyone thought! My current purse is a disaster designs one so I do love an unusual purse.

DD would love the dumbo purse so that's going on her Santa list she's 20 & dumbo daft

@WhackusBonkus

@MurmuratingStarling I have two unicorn king size bed sets! DH just goes with it. Grin

That's what I like to hear. Grin

What a nice thread! With some great posts. (Apart from a couple of predictable snarky and patronising 'I just don't understand whhhyyyyyy ADULTS like Disney, do enlighten me!' type comments. They're best ignored.

And as for the comment 'yes people will judge you.' I don't give a fuck. Too old and too long in the tooth to give a rat's wank what people think. Wink

yzed · 16/03/2022 00:14

By and large, do what makes you happy.

But if you find yourself about to buy a bag for £1,350 (I just got an ad for one in my inbox, and frankly it looks boring to me!) then please give £1,300 to a deserving cause and just spend about £50 on a bag.

Topazmumma · 16/03/2022 07:33

@Iamthewombat

Life is too short for any adult to walk around with a glittery kids’ backpack. Unless your plan is to never be taken seriously by anyone.
Where is your joy? 🥺

I agree, life is too short! Get the kids backpack... Loungefly are beautiful bags and too pricy for kids IMHO 😉 do what makes you happy! Screw what other people think OP.
Far better to look back and think "I can't believe I did that" than "Man, I really wish I had done that..."

@ImInStealthMode

This is my lunchbox for work, today and every day. I don't have kids so can't blame it on using something that belongs to them. It was in the sale in a local charity gift shop and I thought it was cute. It has no impact on my ability to do my managerial job nor manage my team, but it does make me smile (and it's less likely to get lost in the melee of odds and sods of mismatched Tupperware in our office kitchen).
Love this

I can't cope if style and beauty starts going argumentative - it's my nice fluffy place :)

get the backpack OP - I love them!

RavenofEngland · 16/03/2022 12:56

I love my loungefly bags. I have a baby groot one which is my fave, a stitch one and star wars rebel cross body bag. I even have a captain marvel purse. I’m 42 btw. I want more!!!!!

bemusedmoose · 16/03/2022 13:56

i know the ones you mean and no - they are actually meant for adults! Loungefly have been around since my youth and were a goth/alternative brand even then. Loved them then and still love them now! It's supposed to be stuff you loved as a kid but for us grown ups (though kids can have them too).

Even if it was too kiddy - would you care?? Life is too short to worry - just get one, or 3 (because they do have so many nice ones!) In my 20s i had a big bagpuss plush bag - proper bagpuss with straps. Didnt give a toss what other people thought and had it til it fell apart. Now I have a santoro bag - i would have loads if i could they are gorgeous! I'm keeping my eye on the sanderson sisters and beeetlejuice loungefly but cant justify the expense at the min - but when i have the pennies - they be coming home!

When I see adults wearing the kind of things talked about here, I get a 'I'm mad, me', Sue Pollard vibe.
