I would wear one! But then again I walk around with a paw patrol backpack half the time stuffed with nappies and snacks as I have up having a nice grown up handbag when I had kids haha

@Iamthewombat

You are predictable. You’re losing the argument and your response is to claim that I’m ‘having a tantum (sic)’.

No, I’m answering the question and joining the debate. You might want to look at some of the posts on the opposing side of the argument though. Swearing and insults probably fit better with your definition of a tantum (sic).

Goodness, you're absolutely fuming.

'losing the argument' over whether the OP should buy a bag she likes the look of?

You're not 'joining the debate', you're trying to belittle the OP and you're lashing out at everyone else.

Not normal behaviour.

@Iamthewombat

You’re confusing the way things are with the way you would like them to be. The OP’s question concerned the former.
If more people made things how they wanted them to be, then how things are would change.

You're part of the problem.
You're part of the problem that enforces judgement and stereotypes.
If you can't see past what people wear and see what they do as their worth, that's a you problem really.
op buying a bag she likes causes you no issues, yet you're enforcing your issues on her, that's another you problem. Should probably work on that a bit. Figure out why you enforce stereotypes so readily.

@Lj2245

I have a Deadpool riding a unicorn with a rainbow Loungefly backpack. I’m 40. Couldn’t give a toss what anyone else thinks Wink
Please tell me where I can find one. I'm a reasonable bit older than you but love Deadpool. And unicorns.
Halllyup17 · 14/03/2022 12:26

More fool you for spending £70 on a kids' backpack, or is this a stealth brag?

MaryAndHerNet · 14/03/2022 12:27

@WeatherwaxOn

I found the attached on AliExpress... I may have googled.. 😁

CallMeDaddy58 · 14/03/2022 12:33

I’m 36 & I have one. They are meant for adults. They are far too expensive to be kids backpacks!

I’d judge someone in their 30s with a shudder Radley bag more than a Loungefly.

VeryMuchFlaggingMinty · 14/03/2022 12:38

This is my backpack...I'm 46!

@LizDoingTheCanCan I love that bag.

Alwayscheerful · 14/03/2022 13:03

I had to Google
It depends which one , do you mean the ones with the ears?

Also have the point of view that if you like it and would enjoy using it then you should buy it. Clothes should bring us joy, whatever that joy looks like will be different for different people

tigger1001 · 14/03/2022 13:20

@Iamthewombat

Call me when you see Christine Lagarde carrying a Disney backpack. Or Ursula van der Leyen. Or Nancy Pelosi.

No?

I get that for some people, their ideal is for nobody to judge them by their attire, ever. The problem is, everyone makes those judgments, whether they admit to it or not. Why else is the Style and Beauty forum full of requests like, “is this dress suitable for a wedding?” or “is this outfit frumpy?”.

So if the OP asks for opinions on whether she, as a 30 year old, would be wise to buy a glittery kids’ backpack for everyday use, I’m going to answer honestly. I can’t help it if you don’t like the truth.

It's not the truth though - it's your opinion.

That's what's wrong - people so often confuse their opinion with the truth.

SleepingStandingUp · 14/03/2022 13:20

@BusterGonad

I've never really understood adults that wear Disney but if you like it, get it. Personally I agree that wearing it somewhere you want to be taken seriously wouldn't be the best idea. But what do I know?
Because turning 18 doesn't suddenly mean you can only enjoy high art and serious drama?? The newer Disney "Princess" movies are great, they're about more than sitting waiting for a rich Prince. As for men and Disney, big hammer and superhero costumes.
OnceAgainWithFeeling · 14/03/2022 13:24

Just sat in a 121 with our CEO wearing a Star Wars “The Force Awakens” t-shirt. 🤷🏻‍♀️

VeryMuchFlaggingMinty · 14/03/2022 13:35

@Iamthewombat

A bit OTT really...I take your point but part of being an adult is the awareness of context.

I love my pop art rucksack but I wouldn't rock up with it at a funeral or for a professional job interview, for instance.

Going about my daily business, people can think what the hell they like!

BridesmaidPanic · 14/03/2022 13:54

When I saw the title of this I was coming on to say "buy what you want - I've got my eye on a Luna Lovegood Harry Potter Loungefly bag" then realised you want a Disney one!

Go for it!

SleepingStandingUp · 14/03/2022 13:59

Maybe if those saying "you'll be judged as immature and pathetic and you deserve a pay gap" actually challenged their peers when their peers judged someone for not being 100% conforming, we'd actually see some positive change

Bananabutter · 14/03/2022 14:06

It’s not “a kids backpack”. It’s a bag for adults.
MarshaBradyo · 14/03/2022 14:11

Can you link op?

I’m getting what they are from all the pics but not sure what you mean specifically

ExConstance · 14/03/2022 14:12

Your sense of personal style is YOUR sense of style, if you like it buy it.
I have a couple of quirky bags, including one I've had for years which has lots of sequins on it, I get it out when I'm having a WTF sort of day. I hope you enjoy owning it and get great joy out of wearing it. There are too many people around telling us what to do, sometimes it is like being back at school, when of course most of us broke the uniform rules anyway.

I've had to Google now as she's my favourite HP character...but I only got as far as this...😍

Check the size would be my only thought. If it's a product aimed at children the dimensions might be too small to be comfortably used by an adult
