Went in today and saw all the new active stuff stuff - lots of stuff copied from sweaty Betty and seems good quality .

Also some nice sweatshirts very clearly hush copy great quality feel.

Just purchased my second short quilted light puffa jacket which always is complimented .

Also love the wide leg joggers ( posted about these before)

Overall impressed and bought a fair bit !

Anyone else had much success??
@RampantIvy I buy my dd small tall PJs from Next as she is tall ( and slim ) but you might find the tall are long enough for you.
I once bought some from long leg pyjamas from Next, and they shrunk so much in the first wash that I put them in the next charity bag. The legs shrank by at least 3 inches. I was so disapoointed.

Ikeameatballs · 22/02/2022 23:13

I bought this www.marksandspencer.com/pointelle-v-neck-blouson-sleeve-knitted-top/p/clp60536999?color=FLAME#intid=prodColourId-60537000 today and it’s lovely. I love the colour.

Unfortunately this dress www.marksandspencer.com/animal-print-midi-shirt-dress/p/clp60538715?color=REDMIX will have to be returned but I have reordered as I think it might be something wrong with the item I got or maybe I need a bigger size? The placket narrowed at the button just at the waist meaning it looked like it was pulling even when it wasn’t. It fit everywhere else and is the same size as the one I bought last summer so hoping it’s a one off but ordering the bigger size in case it’s not.

Deathraystare · 23/02/2022 15:16

I know some people have a problem with M&S, but I always find something. I got two 38G bras (Doreen style - yeah not sexy but I prefer comfort and they had some cotton in them!) and a pair of the Harper cigarette style jeans. Very very happy.

I saw some dresses that looked nice but did not inspect them to see whether they contained viscose (yuck) or not.

I also have a couple of non cashmere jumpers I like.

BusterGonad · 23/02/2022 15:25

I like viscose, it's just like cotton to me. Polyester is one I look out for, but I do think there is decent polyester and horrible cheapy polyester.

hellswelshy · 23/02/2022 15:25

I had my eye on that knitted top Ikeameatballs ! The colour is gorgeous. What's the sizing like?

Ikeameatballs · 23/02/2022 20:57

@hellswelshy I would say it’s true to size/slightly small rather than M&S usual vanity sizing? I got an 8 and I’m usually a 6-8.

Whydoesthecatalwaysdothat · 23/02/2022 21:56

I went into M&S the other day and saw a lot of nice things. I bought a couple of pairs of leggings which are great quality.

They just need to work on their nasty acrylic jumpers.

Ooh nice. I am a Spring, I think that is a little too bright for me but good on a cool tone person (Winter).
LovedayCL · 24/02/2022 02:39

@Zucker

Surely this thread need #ad in the heading. Hmm
Why? Because women on a UK Style & Beauty board are discussing a mainstream UK brand? MI5 will be calling you with that job offer any day now. Any.. day….
LovedayCL · 24/02/2022 02:44

@Toanewstart23

Because oblique advertising is wrong
So are you saying we can only complain about brands here, or talk in general terms?

Me too.
RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/02/2022 08:09

Their jumpers annoy me. The cashmere is awful but nearly everything else is acrylic. I’d like something in between cheap shit and expensive shit.

RampantIvy · 24/02/2022 08:32

How come I am the only one here whose M and S cashmere jumper isn't awful?

What is the problem that other people are having?

Lol yeah - do they still do their cashmerino Hmm
Malibuismysecrethome · 24/02/2022 10:13

I think their cashmere is poor quality and bobbles easily. Really not worth the money. Colours are awful too.

ArabeI · 24/02/2022 10:18

They sell pure cotton nightdresses which are absolutely fine. I think I have three pairs of their yoga pants now, I've just bought a plain black pair, and no they don't quite measure up to Sweaty Betty, but they're still good).

Knitwear isn't great, though, in my opinion. It doesn't wash well.

Juno22 · 24/02/2022 10:47

I bought a cashmere jumper in December and it's lovely. Really good quality and I've worn it a lot. I try and buy one each year and I've got a few now and they are all fine.

MrsBrodie · 24/02/2022 10:49

I'm head to toe in M&S most days (apart from shoes). Lily jeans are great, I got a sweatshirt in the sales which has been washed and worn endlessly without any problems, cool max vest tops underneath are great for layering, Rosie bras are the best-fitting I have found. I do agree that knickers are not what they used to be, though!

My red cashmere jumper bought in November is good quality and hasn't hobbled either.

My cashmere from M&S is perfect. Very soft and thick. Has lasted. Mine is probably about five years old now though.
BestIsWest · 24/02/2022 17:42

I was in my local one yesterday looking for a dress. It was a sea of flouncy viscose in ditsy prints. But to be fair, everywhere else is too.
They did have few lovely denim dresses which I may go back for but not what I needed.

Thegirlisnotright · 24/02/2022 19:19

They have quite a few now in extra long length, but even some long length ones from there are too long for me at 5’9”

EachandEveryone · 28/02/2022 19:26

OMG due to this thread I ordered nearly everything and, its all going back except one thing!

Honestly the quality was terrible. I know Ive put weight on and Im a 14/16 but nothing was flattering. The plain flared high waisted trousers clung to every lump and threatened to trip me up and Im 5ft 6. The sweatshirt with the pockets. Lovely colour but so tight in the arms I wouldnt dare wash it. The cotton cardi looked fake awful colour and again wouldnt wash well. The only success was the full cup flexi fit bra which is comfy but not really uplifting I couldnt wear it every day but I am keeping. The white cooling vest is also handy.

I hate paying hush prices but ive got sweatshirts from there that are still in good nick five years later ditto all their lounge trousers. Every thing from M and S looks like it will shrink first time its washed. Damn Im gutted but it will teach me a lesson 😃

What did you buy? I order 2-3 sizes in every item I buy and tend to have success this way

I always buy a lot and return a lot - I do this from everywhere though so nothing new.

Short leg length trousers and probably size up in them!
