Before you all say don’t be ridiculous, you’ll look like the bride- there is no bride- it’s a gay wedding. I love this. lOVE it. Could get the floral one but of COURSE I want the cream one. Can I???????

Too late now but now I’ve read all your posts I definitely think you should have chosen the red dress!

Cariadm · 12/02/2022 04:04

I see you have bought the 'dress'...just wondering why you bothered to ask for anyone else's opinion in the first place?!

Catflapkitkat · 12/02/2022 04:13

So glad you ordered the dress, it is gorgeous - a WOW dress. I hope you all have a wonderful day

PartyDilemma6 · 12/02/2022 04:24

Love the red version of if. But what will the bride say?! (Lolz only joking 🙂).
Enjoy the day and your gorgeous dress.

LesleyA · 12/02/2022 04:51

These dresses are only beautiful sorry to say but if you are a not at a wedding and b if you’re in perfect shape I assume you are. Throw a gathering afterwards any excuse Christmas in July wear it then otherwise everyone will say something negative (at home) and why detract

sashh · 12/02/2022 04:55

My initial thought was 'no way' because it would make a lovely wedding dress BUT as it is a wedding with two grooms I think you could rock the multicoloured version.

Oh and congratulations to the happy couple.

BeckonCall · 12/02/2022 05:03

Your son sounds so lovely. Glad you got his stamp of approval!

Momijin · 12/02/2022 05:57

Love it! Can't wait for the pictures 😀

Thomasina79 · 12/02/2022 06:07

Whatever you wear (and personally I think that this dress is inappropriate it shouts me, me, me) you should run it past the couple getting married. I did when my children got married. I think the place of the mother of the bride/groom of whatever gender is to stay quietly and supportively in the background, doing whatever they can to help. It is the couple’s day after all. Having said that, it is difficult to choose an appropriate outfit and you have my sympathies! I went through agonies!

She did run it past her son and he thinks it's fabulous.
Newuser82 · 12/02/2022 06:28

I love the cream one! I'm surprised at most of the comments 😂🙈

liveforsummer · 12/02/2022 06:29

No sorry even if your son says ok all the other guest will be thinking you're a wannabe bride - even the floral one 😬. I certainly couldn't

Kenworthington · 12/02/2022 07:33

Oh my god I wrote a REALLY long reply and it’s gone gahhhhhhh ok essentially it was this….

Thank you to my ‘crew’, you know who you are 😘

Ok so yes, some people are rude, judgemental and sound tbh frankly boring and dull. So dragged down by what they think they ought to do or thing or feel or whatever. Think for yourselves! You don’t have to squeeze yourself into that mold that you think has been created for you.

For me, and my son and his partner and the whole family-
The wedding , in fact any wedding, is a party. A big expensive fancy party. Yes it’s in celebration of the marrying couple but it’s fun, joyous, celebratory, where you get everyone you love and who loves you to get pissed and dance and laugh and have fun together. I’m dressing up because it’s the biggest and best party I’ve ever been to. And you wear what makes you happy to a party!

As has been pointed out, some people have been HORRIBLE on here, really really unkind. This is Style and Beauty FGS not AIBU.
Now I’m going to be a bitch and right now I don’t care too much-
If you don’t understand the dress, if you think I should be stuffing myself into a dress and matching jacket combo with a hat and matching court shoes, if you can’t be bothered to even rtf Fucking t , this thread is not for you. Style and Beauty is not for you. You may not wear the dress but it IS cool, it looks designer. It is fucking FABULOUS. Yes I wanted it in cream. Not because I want to be a bride. Because I LOVeD the bloody frock. It’s nicest in the cream. It’s cool and stylish in the cream. I’m not wearing it with a veil or a bloody tiara. I’ll prob wear it with dms or trainers tbh. And I’ll be so HAPPY because I will be able to dance, and drink, and eat and all the loveliest things without worrying about being uncomfortable or in pain or feeling like someone else on what’s the happiest day of my boys life. And I Am so happy for him and so proud of him. And I am going to wear the frock that he loves too, and I am going to dance with him and kiss his lovely face in all the photos and all anyone will thing is there’s ken with her lovely son and don’t they have the most wonderful relationship because we do.

@Kenworthington fabulous post! I can just imagine all the dull 2 pieces, fascinators and patent courts some on here would wear!

They definitely shouldn’t of found their way over to style and beauty!

NoneOfYour32Potatoes · 12/02/2022 07:39

Well that sounds like boring as fuck for a wedding of your progeny. Kick your Martens up and have some fun in your frilly frock and with your fat cat.

cheekyasfish · 12/02/2022 07:39

Good for you!

Hope you love it just as much in real life

Post some photos

Anniegetyourgun76 · 12/02/2022 07:42

I wouldn't go for the cream or floral one if I were you but the red or blue versions are lovely xx

MusicByTheLake · 12/02/2022 07:44

And you wear what makes you happy to a party!

So why bother posting at all. 🤦🏻‍♀️ You seem very confident so why bother asking?

Thank you to my ‘crew’, you know who you are

Sorry? What is the perfect shape?
Anniegetyourgun76 · 12/02/2022 07:47

Haha ignore me I've just seen you've bought it, have fun 👍

feelsobadfeltsogood · 12/02/2022 07:56

Looks like a bird costume like emu it's ridiculous

peboh · 12/02/2022 08:00

If my mum wore that to my wedding I'd have asked her why big bird came out to play

PipsM · 12/02/2022 08:00

I cannot believe the amount of people who have not RTFT!

It is an amazing dress and I hope that you and your family and friends have a wonderful day celebrating the love of your son and his DP. Cannot wait to see a photo (if you ever come back here again!)?

cultkid · 12/02/2022 08:03

No

cultkid · 12/02/2022 08:03

My MIL basically wore a dress like that, cream same colour as my wedding dress to my wedding

I was so insulted
