Kenworthington · 10/02/2022 20:15

Before you all say don’t be ridiculous, you’ll look like the bride- there is no bride- it’s a gay wedding. I love this. lOVE it. Could get the floral one but of COURSE I want the cream one. Can I???????

What is the other groom’s mother wearing? If you both went fabulous that’s fine.

JoeMaplin · 11/02/2022 23:10

Thank you OP, I’d never heard of that brand and should I ever get married again, I have found the most perfect dress!!

Ps can’t wait to see you dressed up for the wedding!

SparkleTwinkle101 · 11/02/2022 23:11

The price Shock. It's not for me and think it looks a bit bridal

pollymere · 11/02/2022 23:13

Not the champagne or the grey. I think you'll look a bit bridesmaidy tbh in any of them. What happened to dress and jacket with stupid hat.

RussianSpy101 · 11/02/2022 23:14

@MammaMacgill87 you’re more than welcome!

LordoftheDanceSaidHe · 11/02/2022 23:18

It's just a bad dress innit. And also grooms' day not yours. So no. choose something nice.

Eycaluptus · 11/02/2022 23:19

There's some really nasty posts on this thread. Not just the usual MN mean girls mentality but actually some quite spiteful things being said. Over a fancy frock! Who would have thought it!
These same posters must have some vile friends if they really think someone would be ridiculed/a laughing stock/talked about 'in a bad way' for wearing something different to a wedding! I don't know that kind of person in real life and I'm glad for it.

HoppingPavlova · 11/02/2022 23:28

Sure, if your objective is to upstage the two people getting married - go for it!. Otherwise, don’t.

NoneOfYour32Potatoes · 11/02/2022 23:33

But there are going to be elephants and a cat as big as an elephant and I just really think no one will take a second glance at the MOTG in her dress, her dress will pale in comparison to the other upstagings on offer. Especially by Colin.
Efrogwraig · 11/02/2022 23:36

Get the red one, it's fab!

11GrumpsaGrumping · 11/02/2022 23:43

Go for the Westwood.

It is stunning!!!!!

RussiasGreatestLoveMachine · 11/02/2022 23:48
@RussianSpy101 thank God you had the kindness to point out my reply to a 700 message thread, thanks for your kindness and wisdom. On my mobile app where I can't see the full thread or replies, nor my update less than two mins later saying 'discard my comment' what a hero you are. Again thanks so much xxxxxxx
I’m not sure you’re the best one to be posting about ‘kindness’ and ‘wisdom’…

There really are some unhappy people on this thread.

whysoserious123 · 11/02/2022 23:50

Reminds me of a feather boa Grin

upaladderagain · 11/02/2022 23:51

I HAVE, unlike some here, read the full thread, and I think you're fucking awesome OP. Wear your fabulous frock, have a rocking good time with your son and his new husband and big love to you all 💕💕

RussianSpy101 · 11/02/2022 23:52

@RussiasGreatestLoveMachine leave her, she’s probably still frothing 😂

I’m rather bemused about why she says she posted “discard my comment” (she didn’t) after her first post when she has clearly stated she can’t read the rest of the thread……?

I know lots of nasty people like that in real life. They have absolutely shattered my confidence unfortunately. I just wish I was a little like OP and not give a shit.

NewYearNewMinty · 12/02/2022 00:25

It's not my cup of tea at all but your attitude is amazing and I'm glad you're getting to wear something you love for your son's big day.

nettie434 · 12/02/2022 00:32

I think the mean comments are because Kenworthington is a legend who has rejected stereotyped ideas about what the mother of the bride - or in this instance the groom - should wear. She has chosen something that she likes and fits her image. I hope we get to see the shoes/bag too.

Such independence will of course make the sky fall in and so many nasty comments are needed to try and change the OP's mind. Luckily she is made of sterner stuff and the rest of us will hope we get to see the dress on and can raise a toast to what will be a magnificently attired Kenworthington, her son and his husband.

buddylicious · 12/02/2022 00:39

Ask your son

Dillydollydingdong · 12/02/2022 00:45

Just check with ds and his dp and see what they say. I hope you've got the figure for it though, OP! Grin

Mirw · 12/02/2022 00:48

Dont be selfish... This says you don't agree with the gay wedding because there has to be a woman in a "wedding dress". Get yourself a mother of the groom dress as though it is a, straight wedding so you do not confuse the issue.
If you love it so much buy it and wear it at a more suitable event

MazzleDazzle · 12/02/2022 00:49

Her son said he loved it. His partner doesn’t care. So she bought the dress.

And they all lived happily ever after, except for the judgey fuckers on this thread… they were miserable forever more!

Kate0902900908 · 12/02/2022 01:06

It's beautiful and I think fitting for mother of the groom at an all groom affair. go for it!!! X

Hydrate · 12/02/2022 01:14

I read the entire thread before clicking on the dress that you bought. The colours are nice and I am looking forward to seeing how you do it up.

Fruitbatdancer · 12/02/2022 02:25

No.
